We have been to this restaurant a few times over the course of a couple of years and have always been satisfied. Our last visit was awful. The food was average, at best and the service was terrible. I had to beg for my bill. I could have dined and dashed and the staff woyld have been clueless. Never again.
When I go to a play I always go to Lattanzi! The food is always amazing!
I deducted 1 star because when the meals were delivered the waiter was in such a rush the plates were almost thrown .... quite a turnoff. I want to note: we went after the "play rush" as we attended a matinee ... so not sure why the waiter was rushing. Hoping this doesn't happen next time.
Always a favorite when visiting New York City - usually Pre Theatre! Delicious food and excellent service! Napoleon for dessert is a special treat! Highly recommend!
It was great food and service
We had lunch before attending the theater. We ordered a la carte. Consistent with out prior visits to Lattanzi, the food and service were excellent. Not rushed, but attentive.
My husband and I dined here recently while visiting Times Square. We were seated at a lovely quiet table, as I requested while making the reservation. Our waiter was delightful and very attentive. He was knowledgeable about the menu and made great suggestions. We ordered the grilled vegetable appetizer which was nice to share. We each ordered a different fish entree and both were really good. We will be back on our next visit to NYC.
We went for dinner before seeing Springsteen on Broadway. I loved it as soon as I walked in. The staff was friendly . The food was delicious, like eating in Italy. Definitely going back'
Not bad tasting, but not amazing either. Desserts and coffee are wonderful.
All was great, as usual.
Latanzzi was perfect! Delicious pasta, Veal and a wonderful wine list. We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Very convenient for pre theater also.
Nice atmosphere, nice staff, great food, a little pricey but hey, it's New York. The cocktails were a little stiff and sent mine back not finished as just too much alcohol. Overall a good experience and will go back.
Great for pre-theater
Very good food , attentive staff it was a perfect pre theater dinner.
Fantastic, authentic Italian restaurant. Romantic, cozy setting. Well-priced, delicious food. Hubby got the Fettuccini al Ragu and I got the Chicken Milanese and we split cheesecake for dessert. Both dishes were amazing and they cheesecake was divine! Will definitely eat here again shoukd we find ourselves back in NYC
Fabulous food and service!! What a great dinner place before a show.
Excellent all around!
Great nite great service
The entire experience was delightful. Great food and wine also very quiet which means a lot to us. We want to have a conversation not fight with a sound system (and music someone else chooses) It is also beautiful, clean restroom, good service and in the theatre district. It is not a cheap bargain but it is not overpriced for what you have.
We went for an early dinner before the theater. The service was great - just the right amount of attention. The food was excellent and restaurant was very close to venue. All in all a great experience.
Very good food. Good service, experienced to properly pace pretheater diners. Excellent theater district location.
I have eaten at Lattanzi many times and have never been disappointed. This time, I was there with two friends who had never been there before. They were equally impressed and will surely become new customers. We all had the fish special, and it was delicious!
My wife's entree of mushroom ravioli came out cold. When it was replaced with a new order of mushroom ravioli, the second dish was hot, but extensively over salted. It was almost not edible. Whether it was the brown gravy or the raviolis, something was given way too much salt. Of the about the ten raviolis on the plate, I ate two, she ate three and left the rest over. Luckily she had soup first, so wasn't starving. My lasagna Verdi was good, but not great. My house salad was gorgeous to look at when served, but needed a better vinegar mixed with the olive oil. Bland and tasteless. The chocolate dessert was okay. The two biscotti were excellent. We used to come here two to three times a year when we came to Manhattan. At $100 before tax and tip, for two for lunch, everything should have been outstanding. This was not the case on Wednesday. No one even stopped at our table to ask how was lunch.
Pre theater lunch. Delicious food
Good choice in the theater district. Passover menu available.
My husband, daughter, son-in-law and I came here post-theater. Lovely décor, very pleasant service, food was delicious. Best Lemon Drop Cocktail I ever had. Nice that they had N/A beer. Everyone enjoyed their food (apps: artichokes, grilled octopus and shrimp; mains: linguini with clams; lamb shank special, wild porcini ravioli) and desserts (1 coffee was forgotten, but no biggie). We would certainly return.
The food was for the most part very good with one or two items falling into the just good category. The desserts were very good. The service was fast almost too fast in that our main entree came out before everyone finished their appetizer. True we did tell them we were going to a show so finding the balance between rushed and attentive can be difficult. Prices were typical for theater district so expect at least $100 per person if doing full meal, dessert and a drink. Overall, I would return as it was a better than average experience.
Wait staff was not attentive. Food good but not great as expected.
This Restaurant Row classic is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Its authentic Roman food with its delicious preparations make it a delightful retreat in habitually noisy and crowded NYC. When dining at Lattanzi, my husband and I always share the spectacular carcioffi à la Romana as an appetizer and a pasta dish—with house-made pasta—as the primi piatti; a veal or fish dish is the second. The wine list is large though selective and well-priced. This time, we ordered a terrific bottle of Gavi di Gavi, making the entire dinner superb. We return to Lattanzi whenever we visit NYC and look forward to another delicious meal there.
An old favorite for pre-theater dinner, I thought I would give it a go. The food was of such poor quality, I thought I may have confused it with another restaurant. What used to be a plate full of beautifully lightly fried artichokes were 6 canned artichokes barely sauteed in a pan of oil. The pasta selection was poor and the pasta special of tuna and cherry tomatoes showed up with hard, grey cubes of what was barely recognizable as tuna - only it's fishiness gave it away. The service was terrific, I only felt sorry that they were forced to serve such swill at typical New York prices with charm and speed. My recommendation, keep the servers and get rid of the kitchen staff and be willing to spend money on quality ingredients. We shall NEVER return.
Terrific as usual!
Good pre-theater spot. Food is definitely overpriced but to-be-expected in the neighborhood. Good spot to please lots of picky palates before a show and the service was very good.
Love it here. Can't wait to go back. Veal Milanese, my fav. Been eating here for years.
Service was efficient, good food and the Napoleon dessert was a must have.
We went for a pre-theatre dinner. Service was excellent. Food was very good though not amazing. It was a bit pricey for what it was but that’s the case in most NYC restaurants. All in all I would return.
We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately.
Great service and food was delicious.
Wonderful meal. Everything was perfect.
Fabulous as always! Outstanding food and service. Thank you Jimmy for taking such good care of us. Can't wait to dine again.
We went to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. It was very nice and had a romantic atmosphere. Our food was excellent. Our service was good for the most part except our waiter disappeared at the end and another waiter had to bring us our check. Other than that it was perfect.
Very nice, authentic Italian. Great pre- theatre choice.
Christmas present to my two kids(18 and 21) to see Hamilton.. dinner was excellent but a splurge for us as a party of 3...
