Lattanzi Ratings and Reviews
The ratings on OpenTable are much better than the ratings on yelp. This is a ruse. The ratings on yelp are more accurate. The service was so-so. Sometimes 4 people would ask if you need anything then when you actually needed something no one was around. The food was mediocre and I’m really not that picky. I like 99% of all Italian restaurants. The waiter basically rushed us out of the restaurant towards the end because he wanted to leave. Was seated on time even on Valentine’s Day so that was a plus.
Delicious food in a comfortable setting. Nothing stuffy here you are treated like family. This theatre district restaurant is the perfect spot for pre-theatre dinner,( let them know and they will accommodate you) late night supper or anything in between. This is our our go to theatre spot and it has remained consistently good for the 25 years we have been coming here.
Excellent food however the server made a mistake with one of the orders and the majority of us had finisihed our dinner before my guest was ultimately served. We questioned, we were told its in process-- Unforuntately, that was an unsatisfactory answer and very disappointing. They still charged us for the meal and offered no accomadation for coffee or desert-- very disappointed given I have only had positive experiences here previously.
We had dinner at Lattanzi after seeing an afternoon show. I felt so lucky to get a reservation at the last minute. The atmosphere was lovely- they seated us upstairs which was beautiful. We could see an outside deck through glass doors; I imagine it is a beautiful place to eat outside during warmer weather. The food was absolutely spectacular! Our waiter suggested the famous artichokes- they did not disappoint. The service was spot on - they were there when we needed then, but did not bother us. The staff was very well versed in the food and drink choices.
So all in all I'd give them a 10 out of 10. Great food, service and atmosphere!
I understand that it is a Saturday night and they wanted to get people in and out ofthere but befdore my salad was even done they had the entree sitting on the table. The food wa ok, although there was hardly any chocies of appetizers and what was there were salads..
For Dinner an excellent place for business discussions. Our German client wanted Italian food, but liked the choice of non-italian foods. In fact the Italian choices are fairly limited to pasta & risotto, Ossobucco was the special. The filet mignon was huge and correctly prepared. The seafood risotto was tasty with good ingredients. The staff professional. The mains came with vegetables, but this was not clear on the menu resulting in a superfluous choice of spinach side at $10 expensive. I would prefer to have a fish choice that is not filleted -- for instance a whole bronzino or have it filleted at the table as a choice -- but maybe I am unique.
We had a very pleasant experience at Littanzi. The food was delicious. We had the bronzino which was perfectly done in a very light sauce that added to the taste of the fish. Also the veal piccata and chicken piccata were excellent. We shared a pasta dish as an appetizer that was very good. The service was excellent. It was at a time for the evening broadway plays and we did not feel pushed to finish our meal. Loved the ambiance. Fits in well in that neighborhood. The value was very good as well. I recommend this restaurant.
Our reservation was for 5:30 and even though we arrived about 30 minutes earlier than our reservation time we were seated immediately. Service was excellent. We let them know that we were not in any hurry so we were not rushed at all. Able to linger over drinks and coffee. Food was excellent.
In the past We have eaten WONDERFUL meals here quite often but tonight that was not the case. One of our fish dishes was not good and when we asked for something else we were not treated appropriately. The manager was rude, condescending and unresponsive to our needs. We ended up not ordering another meal and split one meal between the two of us. Very disappointing and surprising based upon past experience at Lattanzi.
As good as my clam and lobster appetizer was, I think the artichokes were the big winner. My wife enjoyed her bronzino and I enjoyed my steak, which was perfectly cooked. The crime brûlée was a nice finish to our meal. Service was very good. There when you wanted it but not intrusive.
A great place for a special occasion, or a nice treat. The food is authentic Roman fare, along with dishes typical or based on food from theRoman Ghetto (Though not Kosher.) The staff appreciate diners who want a typical Italian meal with antepasta, pasta (they’re happy to spit a full portion for two people) a secundo (second, or main dish) and dessert. The wine selections are excellent and the wines by the glass are excellent, not just a cheap house wine.
