Ordered 2 courses and after the appetizer we were offered desert. Main came 5 mins later and was so hot it seemed microwaved.
Nice choice for pre-theater dinner. Excellent service and exposed brick interior provide a cozy and inviting experience. Pace was prompt but not rushed, and the waiter made sure our wine glasses. were never empty. We arrived at 5:45, were seated quickly, and were walking out the door at 7:15. Food was classic Italian — not particularly unique or creative but well executed.
What a wonderful place. Lattanzi occupies a beautiful space right in the heart of the theater district. It is warm and welcoming with exposed brick walls decorated with vintage photos of Italy among other things. Lighting is soft and pleasant, not too dim, not too bright.
We were welcomed in and seated immediately right on time. We had an early reservation so were one of the first in that section but it quickly filled up. Even once the room was full, the noise level was never an issue. It had a nice buzz but we could easily converse with each other without straining.
The servers were friendly and efficient. We didn't order appetizers. For our entrees, we had the Tortolloni stuffed with chicken and veal and the Mushroom Ravioli. Both were well-prepared and delicious. We also got a side of Brussels sprouts in garlic and olive oil. Those were also very good though for our taste could have been cooked a bit longer. Still, we devoured them. Keep in mind that one side order is more than enough for 2 people.
For dessert, I had the cheesecake which I found somewhat disappointing. It was dry and crumbly. It tasted good but the consistency was lacking. I prefer a creamier filling. My wife had the strawberries and zabaglione (an Italian custard) and said it was delicious.
Overall a very fine meal, fairly priced for the venue and quality of food and service. Definitely a place I would recommend and return to in the future.
Excellent in every way. Food was delicious. Waiter service was fantastic.
Professionalism , delicious food and a gracious Host. Perfect!
The food was delightful and the service very good. We were there for a Wed Theater Matinee and they got us out in time to be there before the show without any issues.
Lattanzi is one of our NYC favorite restaurants. From the moment you walk in to saying good night your experience wil be wonderful.
Their menu has a wide variety of dishes to satisfy every taste. We have had a variety of dishes and love everything.
The service could not be better. Everyone is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is always clean and sparkling. A great choice always
Visit with relative. Went very well.
What a cozy, warm and wonderful NYC experience. Just loved it, both food and ambiance. Pasta was fantastic, service attentive but not intrusive. Loved Lattanzi!
Never a disappointment, this restaurant, near the mecca of broadway shows, will always fill you up with good food. An ample wine selection, the Italian food is just the ticket.
An old Italian restaurant. As you would expect , with any old Italian restaurant you’re seated close together with other guests. Also the bathroom area is “shared”. I walked in to a man washing his hands and was very confused and startled. It was then obvious that the hand washing area was shared and each stall was floor to ceiling private.
Upon arrival myself and my guest were seated immediately. We used the open table app to book, and didn’t wait a moment to be acknowledged and seated. The food was delicious and came out very quickly for how busy they were and the staff was attentive and courteous. Overall great night and a must stop when in NYC.
We love Lattanzi. It's a good go-to. Sometimes the food tastes better than it looks, but I do think this is one of the more solid Italian places in Hell's Kitchen, definitely on Restaurant Row. The service is also fantastic. And the wine is not expensive, good and poured well. We'll always be back.
I have been going to Lattanzi for over 20 years now. It is always a pleasure.
As always, a wonderful dining experience. Everyone is always very attentive and professional. One of my favorites!
we went before a show Sunday lunch, everything was superb.
Always excellent
Service was horrible. I’ve eaten here in the past and enjoyed it. I’ve sent people from my hometown to Lattanzi in the past. Never again. I’ve never encountered such horrible service. Waited 20 minutes for a waiter to acknowledge us. Our waiter never took our order. A manager came over to take our order and was completely rude and arrogant. Go to Amarone around the corner and get real service.
The maitre d had no control over timing of reservations and walk ins and gave away our rightful table twice. Put us in a very bad mood to start the evening and the restaurant didn’t even offer us anything to make up for it.
Was my wifes Bday . I placed in the open table reservation however they did not see it . Over all the food was very interior italian . I come from a long line of good Siclian food . This was straight up inviting and tasty food .
The service was slow and the food came out too quickly between courses.
I had the most delicious Cacio e Pepe for dinner. Lattanzi’s has the BEST tartuffo. Go for the tartuffo and stay for dinner! You won’t be disappointed.
Great food , quick service, nice small round table for 6 near the bar.
Pre Broadway dinner with a couple of young kids. Food came out super fast and was superb. Waitstaff help was a little spotty but nevertheless the best meal of our four days in the city.
A good pre-theatre choice. Most of the food was pretty bland (except for the tiramisu, which was great), and it was loud and crowded, but the service was attentive and quick. Nothing memorable, but a good pre-theatre choice.
The Restaurant was very nice the food was delicious I would go back again.
Great atmosphere. Entree and apps were delicious. Service was great.
We had a very nice lunch prior to the matinee. The food was good and the service excellent.
Bad service and very loud. Food just ok. Very disappointed.
Mi experiencia fue muy agradable, todo el mundo muy atento y la comida muy rica. Repetiré sin duda
Service was bad. Waiters were very unfriendly. Food was okay, nothing special. Never coming back.
Lattanzi is a great neighborhood restaurant and very convenient for the theater. The food is excellent and our server was attentive, helpful and considerate of our time constraints. This is a go to restaurant for us when we are in New York and going to the theater. It is consistently excellent.
We enjoyed our dining experience overall but when the bread was put on the table it is usually accompanied by olive oil and it was not. We found out that it is their policy for the customer to ask for it. We felt that fine dining would extend that as common practice.
Service was disorganized
1 of 6 entrees was too bland
food and ambiance great
Wonderful evening
loved the penne ala vodka and the snapper livernaise was outstanding
desert great
Great service, delicious food. We will return next time we are in the area. Fast service but not rushed.
This is the second time we have eaten here. Our first time was so good we came back a second time. We are a family of six, so if we are going to go out to dinner, we try to go somewhere we know we like. However, our most recent visit was very disappointing. We were early for our reservation but they had a table available, so they seated us right away. That was great but that's where the good stuff ends. As soon as we were seated the waiter told us the specials and walked away. He didn't ask us if we wanted wine, soda or anything besides water. He returned no more than 5 minutes later to ask us if we were ready to order. He didn't ask if we wanted to start off with an appetizer, just wanted our dinner order right away. Our meals were delivered to us about 15 minutes later. The waiter never came to our table once our dinners were served to see if we needed anything. As soon as we were done eating, the waiter offered us our check. He did not ask if we wanted coffee, dessert, after dinner drink or anything at all. This was the first time I have ever left a tip less than the recommended 18%-20%. My husband and I always leave a tip of at least 20%. Sometimes more if the service was especially good. I know that is how waiters and waitresses make the majority of their pay. This time I just couldn't do it. I also never leave bad reviews but I feel that I have to this time. I hope this review finds the right person at Lattanzi and the wait staff treat their patrons a little better in the future. Our family of 6 will not be returning again.
Great Close to the theater.
Very nice pretheatre dining place. Good food, good service, convenient to theaters.
My son and I had the best meal prior to Book of Mormon. Thank you.
Best Italian restaurant in the theater district in which I have dined. Fine food in a cozy atmosphere with "they have got to go to a show" service without being rushed.
