we had a group of six dining before a Sunday evening Broadway show. We were seated promptly at a round table which we had requested. Our waiter was delightful - competent and friendly. We shared some salads which were delicious - the house made mozzerella cheese with tomatoes was superb. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. I had lamb chops and my husband had the chicken dish with the salad, mozzerella and tomatoes - both were excellent. This was my second visit to Lattanzi and it will not be the last!
Great food, good service. Nicely located.
The restaurant have an intimate feel to it. The wait staff were very attentive and quick. We were seeing a show and they got us out in plenty of time to get to the theater. Couldn't ask for anything more!
Our group of six went to Lattanzi after a matinee. It was conveniently located and we were seated immediately upon arrival. The tables were close but we didn’t feel squished. The wait staff was very helpful and accommodating. All of us enjoyed our meals and thought the food was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Very consistent. Never had a bad meal. The staff is wonderful. Would go back again and again.
Food just average. Over priced and under portioned. Waiter and manager were VERY rude!
Great restaurant, delicious food, lovely setting. We will be returning. Thanks!
Lovely ambiance and food. Excellent choice for after theater dining!!!
Was very warm in the restaurant. Could adjust to make the dining experience better for guest.
Been here before. Good food great atmosphere and great service. Very reliable.
The dinner was outstanding. The best grilled octopus in the New York area. The Branzino was cooked to perfection.
The food and service were excellent. Tables spaced so that everyone could enjoy intimate conversations without loud, background noise. I loved the carciofi giudio which I hadn’t had in NY before. Will definitely return.
My husband and I went to Lattanzi before attending a play. Service was excellent and the food was great. We ate off the Restaurant Week menu which was fine and will be going back to eat off the full menu.
Restaurant week but the food and service was the same as any other time. Tomato and mozzarella was so fresh and could have just come in from Italy, fish was cooked perfectly and the deserts were a great ending to a great meal. Setting in the basement walk-down was spacious which allowed for conversation while making you feel special. Great spot for pre-theater.....
Always a pleasure to have dinner here. The food and staff are excellent.
Food and service OK - I wouldn’t go back
Even though the staff never has a personality and the prices are high, I enjoy the quietness of the restaurant and the food is tasty.
Food and service is excellent. It’s the restaurant we go to whenever we want a delicious dinner in NYC!
This was the 5th time I had been to Lattanzi's and this was the only time I left disappointed. But we all left feeling like our food was "meh." None of us are food snobs. But the lasagna was "runny" with mushy noodles and the veal masala was very tough. The real give away is that the food came out too fast. It's obvious that in their attempt to get everyone to the theatre quickly and move the tables that all the food is sitting around. Nothing fresh about it. We got the lasagna faster than we got a martini. Is there perhaps a way the waiter can ask "are you in a hurry?" If so, you get the food that's sitting under the lights. If not, then you get something that is a bit fresher.
Food was mediocre. Service was rushed. Did a bait and switch with bottle of wine. We chose a wine but they claimed they did not have it and recommended another one that was supposedly more than the first but would only charge the price of the original one. Lo and behold the one they brought was inferior to the one we chose in price and taste! We brought this to their attention and was not offered any compensation!
I like to read reviews before I choose where to eat and this had great comments all across the board. I loved my dining experience here. The staff was very warm and engaging. The food was so delicious I can not wait to return! We shared the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe which was amazing. They gave us an appetizer portion which was enough for the two of us to share. We also shared the Insalata Mista which was so fresh and also very good. Oh yeah, the drinks were great and we actually had them refill the breadbasket, forgot that. For our entrees, I had the Halibut Special which was worth every penny and my boyfriend had the Veal Piccata which he enjoyed. I like mine better but it was still good. For dessert, we had Crème Bruleè which we both really liked!! A very delightful meal!!
Food was excellent! Our pasta dishes came out super fast
Civilized meal prior to the theater. Food was good, service was terrific. Quiet space and traditional menu. Would eat there again.
It was a whole lot of ok, which is not what I expected from a restaurant row place and the reviews I read. Food was bland and cold, waiters had little customer service. Disappointed
This is my "go-to" Italian restaurant in the theater district. I've never had a bad meal here, and the service is excellent. Nice setting, and on restaurant row.
Nice restaurant on the famous street, W46 st known as “Restaurant Row” because there are so many places to eat. This was our second visit there in a month. We like it because it is close to Port Authority Bus Terminal. The ambience is lovely decorated with photos of Italy. Good good, reasonable wine list (except for a Brunello di Montalcino which was $400!!), and attentive service.
This restaurant served the best meal I had from all the restaurants on West 46th Street. It was the special of the day - lamb Osso buco with risotto & mushrooms. Absolutely delicious. The waiters were fine and the ambience is lovely.
Delightful evening made special with attentive and personable service. Emir was fun and had great stories to share. The food was excellent and it was interesting to hear the origin of the restaurant. The artichokes are a must!
Excellent food and service! Very nice atmosphere. Wasn’t rushed even though it was busy
We were able to relax and take our time. The Waiter did not rush us. The tortellini dish was delicious and the perfect amount. The linguini w seafood didn’t have much flavor so that was the only disappointment. The service was great. We were impressed that we got our meal five minutes after placing the order. It was great bc we were going to a play.
Cocktails we ordered were good and though the wine we wanted to accompany dinner was not in stock the recommendation was excellent.
Our appetizers were good (tuna carpaccio & sautéed artichokes) though the artichokes were a tad dry and needed more olive oil and a sprinkling of salt and maybe a little more garlic.
Entrees were excellent (branzino & veal Marsala).
We were then pleasantly surprised to get some complimentary port which was a very nice touch before our cappuccino coffee, tea and superb panna cotta.
We would certainly return again when back in the area.
Jimmy is amazing!!
Table, food, service, ambiance was excellent. I had the veal chop special which when we got the bill was $50!! But it was delicious!
Wonderful, quaint cafe. Attentive & helpful staff. Delicious Italian food. The house Cabernet was excellent! Wish we’d have had more time to fully enjoy as we were on our way to a 7:00 musical.
This dining experience was a mixed bag for me. The food was very well prepared, but I found the menu to be somewhat overpriced for what was offered. The service and the ambiance were excellent.
60th Birthday Dinner! So great! Have been Tammy times! Always great!
The food was good and the service excellent since we were going to a show.
It had been many years since we visited Lattanzi. We had a good experience then and wanted to try it again. We are so glad we did! We had a table in the back room where it was quiet. Service was speedy, but well-paced for pre-theater. Our waiter was excellent, sorry I can't remember his name. My special requests were handled with grace and my meal was perfect, as were the other three dinners at our table.
I can't wait to return and hope it won't take another 10 years.
We enjoyed our meal at Lattanzi as we usually do when dining at this restaurant
