Traditional Lobster Bisque
Filet of Beef Wellington Napoleon
Layered puff pastry, wild mushroom duxelle, pate foie gras, veal demi-glace
House made spinach fettuccini
We had booked a table for outside, but it was too windy when we got there; so the staff was able to accomodate us inside - by ourselves - at the window table.
We had the lamb bolognese and butternut squash soup for starters and the beef Wellington and Dover sole for entrees. For dessert, we had creme brulee, with birthday candle, and apple strudel.
the food was hot and very tasty and presented in an elegant manner.
Unfortunately because of the Corona virus the restaurant was almost empty. So upsetting
Just moved to the area snd was so pleased with our choice of restaurant. The food was delicious, the server was wonderful and the place itself so warm and comforting.
Can’t wait to go back. Loved it!
Presentation quality portions superb
I've always loved Latour. This is the first time I've been back in about ten years. I was disappointed that the menu was abbreviated (due to Covid, probably) as I was looking forward to the beef wellington. The escargot is still the best I've ever had, and the best thing on the menu. If Chef Latour made an entree portion of his escargot, I'd be in heaven. My boyfriend had the crabmeat strudel, which he enjoyed - it was fresh and tasty. I had the mushroom risotto, which was good for what it was, but not fantastic. He had the lamb two-ways special and loved it. We had the profiteroles for dessert - the choux was perfect, not soggy or chewy, and the ice cream tasted homemade, very creamy and fresh. I'll be going back soon, if the state isn't shut down again.
Always a special dinner and they did not disappoint Everything was impeccable and delicious Our waiter actually read my request: a quiet corner to celebrate our anniversary Very attentive and surprised us with a dessert to share for our celebration We Could not have asked for a more soecial evening
Birthday dinner, Everything was excellent, couldn’t be more pleased.
No liquor license, it’s a drag if you forget
My Grouper was outstanding, a regular item on the menu. Highly recommend it!! The special lamb was only ok. Not as much flavors special should have had, nothing special. I enjoyed the special goat cheese ravioli with fig reduction. The chocolate mouse cake was good as expected but not spectacular. All in all, I enjoyed my meal and will go back.
Love the chef the owner and the food is fabulous!!!
Excellent - traditional, quiet and well set up for social distancing. Great desserts.
We believe the BEST French restaurant in Ridgewood is Latour.
Truely delicious food presented by friendly, attentive staff in a safe environment with outside dining options.
A beautiful night under the stars with a visit by the entertaining chef, Michael. Cassoulet was terrific. Escargot never disappoint. Specials were varied and delicious. Finished up with the dependably satisfying profitoroles which were shared amongst a virtuous foursome. The only drawback were the too near and noisy trains. It kept the conversation going!
Best meal I’ve had in a long time. As far as noise level it’s next to the RR tracks so Somewhat noisy intermittently. Also a byo
One of our favorite restaurants. Ate under tent. Food excellent, service , I asked for more water twice and he never filled it, so my friend gave me hers. Unfortunately 5-7 pm there were a steady stream of trains which ruined the ambience.
Service was friendly, attentive yet not rushed. All items ordered were delicious
Always excellent, never disappoints. The ambiance is superb; the service is outstanding!
A very nice place to enjoy: good company, good wine, great food and very professional and friendly service.
Definitely a place to go over and over.
Must make a reservation.
Cassoulet was the perfect warming dish for a crisp fall night, and the grouper was also cooked perfectly. Service was excellent, and Chef LaTour personally greeted every table and thanked them for coming out that night. It was our first time dining there and we will definitely return.
Great restaurant in the heart of Ridgewood. We were seated just outside the restaurant on the sidewalk and felt the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend!
Lovely BYOB restaurant. Service is attentive. Food is consistently extremely good.
Always delicious but my husband’s chicken was overcooked! My dover sole was wonderful. It was our first dinner out!
One of the few restaurants that I can say that the food and dinning experience far exceeded the cost. The COVID environment was somewhat restrictive has the restaurant is 30 yards from the train, but even with that it was an outstanding dinning experience. The food is really that good.
Food is fantastic and service was great. Sitting outside was a treat.
we've been to LaTour many times. This time we were sitting outside in front of the restaurant - not quite the same ambiance as being inside but the food was outstanding as usual.
Outstanding menu and execution.
Best foie gras in the area of North Jersey.
The only place you can get souffle- the real thing!!!
File of sole outstanding.
Have been many times - never disappointed.
Chef Mike Latour very friendly, comes out and talks to patrons.
Highly recommended !
The food was excellent. The staff was very good. We sat outside bc it was such a nice day, but did not take into consideration the commuter trains going by so often. It would have been quieter on the weekend. Next time we will sit inside if we go during the week.
Wonderful. Dinner was over the top fantastic and the outside seating was perfect. We don’t mind the trains as the restaurant is near the tracks. Everyone who took part in our service was fantastic will definitely dine here again and again. Super fantastic.
We had a wonderful meal, but were seated close to the railway tracks, which was unsettling when 7 trains passed!
Fantastic ! Chef was excellent!Food amazing! Would definitely return
Great local place for dinner out. BYOB so we grabbed a bottle of wine and it was the perfect weather to sit outside. The only downside is outside seating looks onto a parking lot but it was surprisingly not terribly busy. Cars that were parked were there to stay. Staff was wonderful and attentive but not intrusive, and food was delicious.
The food at Latour is exceptionally delicious and well presented. The service was polite, attentive and prompt. We were sat outside, the seating was comfortable, under a tent and well spaced out. There was music playing in the square - perfect for our special occasion dinner.
This was our first visit after a recommendation from a friend. We will be returning.
Was very disappointed that the Prix Fixe menu wasn't available when the Website said it was. The grouper was rather small in size for a main entree dish.
We had a good time. Deserts were favs. We would go back. Chef and servers were pleasant.
Covid dining outside rating
Outdoor dining necessitated by Covid 19 restriction were reasonable. The noise factor unavoidable due to the train tracks just 20 feet away but did provide an urban aura. Food was spectacular as was service.
My husbands retirement anniversary. A fantastic meal , the salmon had all different flavors that all worked together fantastically.
The short ribs out of this world. The waiters were. Great friendly and helpful never overbearing. We will be back for sure and plan to get take out as well.
Delicious food, great service, outdoor seating was well spaced.
My partner, our friends and I finally made it back to our favorite French 🇫🇷 restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ after 7 months from indoor dining, 1 curbside pickup and boy were we delighted. During this special time, a reservation is needed for outdoor dining and could be made either by phone or via Open Table. We arrived a bit early for our 6pm reservation and luckily found a parking spot by the restaurant. We were greeted by our previous server, Dominic and our server, Patricia who were wearing masks and whisked us to our table 6 feet from another. The server brought out some rolls with a side of butter, read out the specials and gave us the menu which was limited. For appetizers, we ordered escargot in a garlic wine sauce, French onion soup gratinee, fallen cheese soufflé and lump crab strudel. For entrees, we ordered braised boneless short ribs of beef, 2 pcs of lamb special and potato-crusted grouper. Everything was delicious and there weren’t any complaints from us. Michael, the chef and owner, came out to us and exchanged a few words. The evening turned out to be spectacular with a beautiful sunset as the weather forecasted some showers. We can’t wait for indoor dining. If you are in the area, we highly recommend this place.
