Latitudes on Sunset Key Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed our experience at latitudes. I was a little disappointed that we were unable to sit outside (even though there was room, the hostess said that they were completely booked). We didn't select that at the time that the reservation was made. The whole time during dinner, there was a table available.
Make sure if you want outside seating, you select it.
We had our reservations prior to our trip and it was well worth it. The trip to the island is quick as was the wait for the table.
Our server was more than knowledgeable and more than eager to help with selection and recommendations. She made sure we enjoyed the entire experience. The food was outstanding and I will eave it at that but I will say the specials not on the menu are what we had and both were over the top. This is a must for a romantic dinner while you are in Key West and we will go here again and again!
My husband and I dined here during the evening hours. As expected, we were unable to secure a reservation for sunset. However, the food was delicious, the staff pleasant, and the price fair. Since the view is the true allure, we'll choose a lunch or brunch hour next time.
Except for a party of drunken bridal shower/birthday revelers, it was a magical experience, our second visit there with many more planned for the future. Outside of boorish behavior by the fore mentioned group, the setting and food were spectacular. Service was a little uneven with husband's salad forgotten and served hastily after questions about its absence. The entrees followed much later, but were very good. The ferry ride there and back, sunset and moonlit night completed a lovely evenng.
I seldom provide reviews, but feel the need to share about our experience last week when we dined at Latitudes. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting KW to make a reservation! From the moment we arrived on the island, we felt like we'd entered a secluded world and knew we were in for a great experience. The restaurant had a warm feeling and the staff were so kind and made great recommendations. While the food and drink were fantastic (I highly recommend the Key Lime Martini), the view of the sun setting in the ocean was breathtaking. We'd spent many evenings prior seeing the sun set from Mallory Square but to see it from the island with no obstruction, is an altogether different experience we'll never forget!
This island restaurant can hold its own with the most elegant sites we've ever visited. A short, 10 minute boat ride from the Mallory Square piers brings you to this private island resort, where you are always greeted like visiting royalty. The view of the surrounding bay is magnificent. Our server, Gail, was so enthusiastic about the menu that we were helplessly drawn to her wonderful choices.
Latitudes is definitely not for fast food addicts: it's a relaxed, elegant experience that you will remember as a high point of your visit to Key West.
What could be better than sitting outside with the crystal Gulf in front of you, lobster and crab on your plate, and a Bellini-tini in your hand. Absolutely delightful and delicious. Wait staff appeared to be a bit stretched however they provided the best service they could.
Everything about Latitudes is the best! Nice boat ride to Sunset Key, wonderful food, service and ambience! Couldn't have asked for anything better! Will go back on our next trip to Key West! Make sure to call and make reservation well ahead of your planned trip though!
A short boat ride takes you to a lovely beach side restaurant. Magnificent view of the Gulf's beauty is displayed in all directions. Professional servers perform the tasks required just as one would hope for, unintrusive, but always seem to there when you need your beverage freshened up or you are ready to place your order. The menu is sized perfectly, steak, fish or vegetable meals are offered with a daily special. Something for everyone. May be considered priced on the high side, but well worth the expense.
The atmosphere is absolutely stunning! Our waitress new the menu with incredible detail, and we capitalized on her suggestions. No disappointments anywhere with the food, service, pricing, etc. ! It was a very relaxing, elegant, and most romantic experience. Never did we feel rushed or hurried along. It was a perfect dining experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Latitudes while visiting Key West. From taking the short ferry boat ride from the mainland of Key West over to Sunset Key ( where restaurant is situated) then coming upon the beautiful locale, overlooking the water with the palm trees, private beach, sailboats in view..truly picturesque. The food and drink was delicious. It is pricey, but truly worth it for all that is offered..more than just the food, it's an unforgettable place. My husband and I consider it a highlight of our week while in FL Keys..
I had a great time at this place. The scenic view makes everything extra special.
The food was ok, not bad and not extra ordinary. But, the view was worth every penny. I went there with my husband on our first wedding anniversary and did not regret a single moment there.
A great place for romantic dates as well as for lovely dinner with friends and family.
make sure to be there for the sunset, otherwise it will be just another regular restaurant in Key West. (since most of the restaurants have nice views there)
First the food and the restaurant itself is outstanding, no doubt about it. But what had our second visit probably also our last, was the fact that we weren't allowed on the boat until the actual reservation time. The last time (1st time or one year ago) we traveled over early and had a few drinks at the bar and enjoyed the scenery before we sat down to eat (reservation time). Made for an enjoyable time. This time we were celebrating our 10th anniversary and had made plans to do the same thing, but were told by the greeter at the boat we couldn't board. Excuse that they were busy, blah, blah, blah. At our reservation time (3 boats later) once we got to the restaurant there were 3 people at the outside bar and 4 people at the inside bar.
It was our last evening in Key West for vacation so we decided to take the recommendations on this website and visit Latitudes. We had a sunset boat ride to Sunset Key and then were immediately seated when we arrived. Note that if your reservations are for 7:45, this is when your boat leaves, not when you eat. You are not allowed to get on the boat earlier thn your scheduled time. The service is good. We sat at a table right inside the window with a view of outdoors, which was nice. We ordered appetizers, entrees, and dessert, and every course was well presented and delicious. We would recommend this to others for a special occasion.
We made reservations well in advance and it was well worth it. Took the shuttle boat from the Key West dock. We were treated to a lovely window seat. Our poached lobster and scallops were some of the best ever. The staff was very attentive and answered my drink and food questions. Everything was wonderful - quite a birthday memory.
We were looking forward to eating at Latitudes but left disappointed, expectations clearly not being met. The outdoor seating was lovely, it was a nice, clear evening and beautiful sunset, but the food was average. We didn't have a bad meal, but it wasn't a great meal either - and especially for the price of the food - we were disappointed. I'm very surprised this restaurant is content to serve mediocre food. We expected to be "wowed" but just had a very average experience. Service was fair - the wait staff were very friendly, yet getting drinks seemed to take an effort. When we return to the Keys, Latitudes will not be on our list of places to return for dinner.
Have been several times. Last time I was there had a poor experience (mainly our waiter's poor service). Told the hostess when I arrived this time about my last experience and she quickly looked up who my server was last time and assured me I would get someone else. Had amazing service this time around and the food was also much better (bisque full of lobster chunks, tasty pork belly and the corn velouté and risotto were great with the snapper, as was my wife's eggplant). Great atmosphere for a romantic night out. Thanks for making our trip back a good one!
