LATHA, Swahili for flavor, celebrates Africa and the diaspora’s rich and diverse cuisines. The menu curated by Executive Chef Digby Stridiron honors the interconnected journey of the foodways and culture of Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, and the Southern United States. Our contemporary pan-African kitchen respects historical recipes and crafts cuisine from thoughtfully sourced seasonal ingredients that reveal the connections between Africa and the diaspora. It is a journey of discovery along the trails of our ancestors, telling the authentic stories of the foodways and how they have shaped eating habits and cuisine worldwide. We invite guests to join us on a flavorful journey of discovery and appreciation. LATHA, in downtown Phoenix, in Heritage Square, is a place to have a shared immersive experience with friends or family while enjoying food, drinks, music, and culture in our dining room, bar, or outside patio. Great food, great location, great service. Only problem was baseball traffic. No where to park. Would advise one to check event schedules as they do impact local traffic.

One of the best meals we have had in Phoenix. Excellent food, drinks, service, and ambience. We will most certainly be back!

We tried the whipped goat cheese, the Salmon Bojito, and the Peri Peri Chicken—each dish was bursting with incredible flavor. I was really looking forward to their pound cake, but unfortunately, they were all out. The staff was warm and attentive, and the overall vibe was beautiful. Sitting outdoors would’ve been perfect to soak in the live music—next time for sure!

Amazing food, very friendly service. Highly recommended. We came as a family on a Friday night and they were playing live music, made the night much better. Drinks are awesome as well. Will be back for sure.

I have gone to Latha for romantic dinner, celebrated birthdays ,Mother’s Day, Graduations, and anniversary dinner and they never fail to impress me. The owners and staff are welcoming, they take the time to greet their guests and find out if there is a special occasion, and check to make sure everything is as you like. Food is always great and unique to the season. If you go on Fridays live music which makes for great ambiance if you sit outside and even in Arizona summer the misters make it comfy. Highly recommend Latha! They never disappoint.

Ambiance was incredible from the sidewalk all the way to our table. Live music Friday night set the tone for an energetic date night. The staff was wonderful, the owner walked around and greeted us throughout the evening, servers and bussers worked well as a team. The Chef’s 3-course meal was perfect- beautiful presentation on unique serving ware, delicious blend of flavors in every dish. Salmon Moqueta was our favorite main course. Generous serving of goat cheese in the appetizer. Obvious that everything was made in house from scratch because of the freshness and fullness of flavor. So neat how the kitchen incorporated some of their staff’s family recipes into the menu, like the strawberry shortcake 🤯 best I’ve ever had. Loved the setting of sitting inside a historic home too. Service by Oscar was on point, we never went without but also didn’t feel interrupted, which can be a tough blend as a server, great job! One of our best date night locations in PHX so far, 10/10 recommend!

First time and will definitely be back. The staff was amazing including the owner. She made a point to check on each table and introduce herself. She also gave a gift to someone who was celebrating something at a table near us. The food was also incredible. We went with the 3 course meal and was not disappointed with a single item.

Found this hidden gem through a simple Google search and was so happy I did. I wanted a place where I can go eat and listen to live music at the same time. The atmosphere is great, service is great and the owner is extremely nice!
