L’ATELIER de Joël Robuchon New York is a Modern French restaurant from legendary French Chef Joël Robuchon, who holds more Michelin stars than any chef in the world (32). The restaurant's signature dining counter faces directly into the open kitchen, allowing for a dynamic interaction between chef and diner. A meal can be composed of an à la carte selection of tapas size plates, appetizers, and entrées. Chef Christophe Bellanca also offers a Seasonal Tasting Menu and Vegetarian Tasting Menu. The value-driven wine program features an extensive list of 700 references.

The restaurant ambience was amazing. The prices were exorbitant for what you got. Our bill was $385.00 for dinner for 2. We each had a drink ($22 for 2oz pour which could have been more generous) before dinner, ordered only a main entree (not chefs menus), and a bottle of wine. No appetizer, no dessert. Cheapest bottle of white Cote d’ Rhône was $145. Lobster entree ($44) was ok, looked like a lobster tail portion only to find out there were 3 pieces of lobster interspersed with large slices of tofu. There were many, many servers and 2 sommeliers so attention was great but could do nicely with less staff and less expensive meals. Veal chop ($66) was very good. Bread was delicious. Would definitely go back for a drink but would spend dinner money elsewhere.

Average. Food was quite nice, service was mechanical and price was $650 for two. My date commented halfway through that we should get pizza afterwards.

Exceptional creations and superb presentations. I was transported to some otherworldly culinary experience with each dish (and I ate all vegetarian). I met the executive chef Christophe afterwards - an incredibly gracious man, so focused on his work and meticulous with what he does. Every offering was so beautiful and delicious, I honestly do not want to eat
anywhere else now. Really worth the trip.

What a fine dining experience! The food was exceptional and paired with a superb service. I highly recommend the Fall Seasonal Prefix menu. It exceeded all expectations. Bravo to the chef and to his team.

The chef’s menu is amazing, and the wine pairing was perfect. The place is beautiful and the service is really good. Great ambiance, off course not cheap but no too expensive for the level of the experience.

Amazing from start to finish! From the amuse to main course to our desserts. Everything was beautifully plated and was so delicious. We shared the king crab, the lobster, sweetbreads and the veal chop. Not only was the food incredible, our server and sommelier were outstanding. Thank you to everyone who made our night! We will be back very soon.

We had such a great evening!
Love the new lounge at the front, we decided to enjoy a cocktail before our reservation and that was a perfect start to our night!
Then the lovely team welcomed us at L’Atelier and we couldn’t be more pleased by everything! We opted for the evolution menu and wow... My husband still raving about his meal! Thank you again we will be back soon

I kind of like mine main courses hot. Most of the courses were lukewarm as they have to handle it so many time to look good that it loses the warmth. Desserts were very good.

L’artichaud est trop pétit, le sole n’est pás pardais te lê maître n’ est pas parfait. L ‘Atelier de Joël Robuchon c’ est bien meilleur à Paris.

I had eaten at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in London multiple times but not in the US for some reason. When a friend was in from out of town, I decided it was time. And this NY'er, who eats at great restaurants in the city five nights a week, was elated that I did. The food, service and atmosphere was better than I had remembered in London (and London was such a great experience that I returned three times). The Sommelier, Emont, immediately made us feel at home and took care of us the entire night like we were friends at his home. The wine list was one of the top in the city, heavy with my favorite Burgundy's. And the food, I don't even know how to describe the amazing dish after dish, except to say I moaned out load after every bite! Emont took us to meet the chef, Christophe Bellanca, and he was charming, open, and welcoming. This was a perfect evening. We will be back, and often!

No words!! Just fabulous! Everything was so delicious and well thought of! We enjoyed being able to see the food being cooked in front of us. We loved the presentation, the colors, and of course the taste! Everyone was so nice, respectful, and welcoming! Loved every bit of this gastronomic Experience! Will recommend to anyone visiting New York who wants a culinary experience that is out of this world!! Thanks to everyone who took care of us that night we enjoyed every bit of it! The highlight of our trip!

We all 6 of us ordered a la carte. The quail was acceptable but the fois gras was gummy and in a tubular forn-not very tasty.!the staff was friendly and helpful. The portions were disagreeable to everyone

I took the Evolution menu with 10 different dishes. It had 3 outstanding dishes, 2 good ones and quite many which were average at their best. Some dishes tasted like they forgot the seasoning.

I would say it was definitely one of the best meal I've ever have. Servers are all very friendly and responsive, and I enjoy the open-kitchen setting where I can watch the chef and his crews preparing the food. Each course brings the flavor of all the ingredients together with a delightful touch. And I was lucky to be invited into the kitchen and talked to the chef which makes the dinning experience even better.

Every dish was superb! I had the scallop dish, poached lobster, zebra tomatoes and more. The preparation was simple and the flavor combinations were subtle and perfectly balanced.
A wonderful seat facing the kitchen to watch the making and prep. Little surprises throughout the meal made the experience unexpected. From the stemware to the service platters, the presentation of the food was an art.
Staff and chef were friendly and engaging. Everyone works hard, but seemingly without effort, to ensure a quality experience.
Thank you to all for a truly memorable meal!
