JOSEPH was exceptional! Nice place to eat before catching a show at the Walnut.
Friendly service and great food. Waiter was great, made great recommendations .
This is our favorite restaurant to go to before the theater. The menu, the service, the variety of great food, and the exceptional value considering downtown Philadelphia are all great reasons to go. And on top of all of that, they'll validate your parking for you, so we avoid the theater parking fees! We've stopped trying different restaurants each time we go to town, as this one is now our automatic "go to"!
We went there as a group of ten colleagues to say farewell to a dear coworker going off to a new job. Everything was excellent, especially the food and service. We are very grateful! We certainly intend to return.
Food was excellent, but our server didn't seem to be too interested in taking care of us.
Crappy service. We were left at the table for at least 15 minutes before anyone took care of us. Food needed salt. Nobody cleaned off our table before dessert. I listed it was my 40th birthday celebration in my reservation and not one person said anything or made me feel special. VERY disappointed in the entire experience
The staff were friendly but our server was running around the whole time and we had to wait a long time to order and get anything. Food was mediocre. The fire alarm went off at the end of our dinner. No emergency just odd. Likely won’t return.
We had an incredible experience! Our waiter was wonderful and the food was delicious. Location is great as well. We were visiting from out of town and will be putting this on our must do list for future visits. I can’t say enough about this place! We had a table of 8 - everyone had something different and not one complaint! The menu is outstanding -So much to choose from!
Thank you for a great dinner.
This was a very pleasant experience. Service was good...food was pretty good especially the fried calamari which was OUTSTANDING!!!
Food was good. Atmosphere was a little lacking. Overall pretty good.
Food was delicious!! Would definitely go back and recommend!!
They lost my reservation....
We had a great experience! There was a short, older Mexican man who’s work ethic was spectacular to watch. He caught my eye the whole time with his hustle. It’s workers like him behind the scenes that bring it all together. From the warm greeting from the hostesses, to our friendly detail oriented waiter, to the spectacular bus boy, the vibe in there was everything and we will definitely be back!!!
With a great many restaurants under my belt (and over it, too), we found LaScala's to be among the very best of them, if not THE BEST! The greeters at check in were extremely accommodating and courteous, bartender was engaging and funny (and made a great Old Fashioned), our waiter was knowledgeable and efficient, and the food was bountiful and delicious. We would definitely go back and would recommend it to all of our foodie friends.
Outstanding in every way!
Food and service was amazing, music volume was way too loud
The food was very good. I loved every course that was served. I wish the Cesar salad had a tad bit more dressing, but other than that everything was delicious. Our waiter was excellent. He was very attentive and helped give us the best experience. I appreciated the portion size of the entree and that I was able to leave with lunch for the next day! Great job guys and keep it up. :)
Octopus salad was excellent. Veal Saltaboca was average.
Food and service were excellent.
We will be back.
Great Service, and great food. Parking garage available at restaurant site is a plus. I highly recommend.
Fabulous meal. I'm a cheese snob and the ricotta and mozzarella cheeses used in our dishes were spectacular. The arancini was also fabulous.
This place is really really special. It is a gem in the heart of Philadelphia. The food has no comparison and the attention can’t be better. Highly recommended
Walnut st tickets
The food at LaScala is authentic Italian and is always excellent. The wait staff has been the same for some years and they are thoroughly professional. Rosario has been our same waiter for 3 years and he is a very fine server who remembers you and your likes and dislikes. On our last visit during Restaurant week, LaScala's was packed, but the service nevertheless was prompt and courteous. Very excellent establishment.
The restaurant was cozy and service was well timed. The food was excellent. The veal marsala was delicious as was the salmon and chicken parm. The only thing I could complain about was that the windows were filthy. We could hardly see through them. It would have been nice to look around the sites.
The way you make the chicken Sorrento is different. Very heavy now on the cheese and marinara sauce. Not as good.
We went for a birthday and with a large party last minute due to an issue with another restaurant and they were accommodating ! The food was very generous and delicious for a large group. Thank you for a great time !
Went for early dinner before theatre. Chicken franchese was very good. Service was attentive but not bothersome.
Food was delicious, there were two of us that split the beet salad and pear pizza. More than enough for the two of us - we even had some pizza to take home for lunch the next day! Prices are reasonable, service was good - it was not very crowded as we were there right at 5 pm on a Sunday. Also, since we came from the afternoon show at the Walnut Street, they offer a 15% discount. I will definitely be returning!
Amazing food, wonderful waiter and great atmosphere!
Everything was very good however the pizza wasn't as good as expected
LaScala's is a good family spot right in the historic district. The food is good, standard American-Italian food. Service was good and prices, while a bit high, aren't outrageous. This is especially true since the portions are a good size.
Love, love, love LaScallas! This is our family’s favorite place. Great food and good times to spend quality family time.
Great food and service. Large portions. Definitely coming back.
I had chicken licata and my husband had filet. Both meals were excellent.
Old school Italian joint, red sauce, pizza, and pasta! Don’t miss the long hots!
Friendly service. Food was delicious and hot. I highly recommend the escarole soup, fantastic.
The food was excellent. My co-workers and I visit LaScala's often especially on special occasions. The food seems to get better every time. The prices are definitely reasonable for the portion sizes. We will definitely keep returning! thank you for a great experience.
Vacation with my niece
Service was an all time low. The food was not as good as in past visits. Highly disappointed with the service. Waiter was not friendly.
