Excellent food and efficient attentive service.
Everything was great great service great food great atmosphere. Special place to go for time for
The mushroom pizza was excellent . The spicy tuna was inedible. Way over cooked.
Great all around! Love it there
Our group shared the appetizers which were good portioned, very tasty and nicely presented. Our waiter Jay was very friendly, extremely tentative, and knowledgeable about the menu. Definitely will go back!
Excellent place to have dinner. Great food great service great everything in real neighborhood gem
First time at the restaurant. Impeccable service and food very good. Enjoyed the place and would definitely go back.
The waitstaff was friendly and efficient. The food left much to be desired. A chicken dish was terrible. The chicken looked boiled, it should had color from sautéing. A mushroom pizza should have had caramelized onions, they weren’t.
The restaurant is not consistent.
Great first time experience! The service was great, the food was great, our waitress was great!! Can't wait to go back!!
They honored the reservation, service was excellent and the food was delicious!
Great waitress. The team delivered a delicious meal.
It is very loud in this space. The server was very personable and made excellent recommendations. A fun place to hang out with friends
Clearly a huge lack of servers and bus boys.
Maybe it was because of the holiday weekend, although the customer count was low. Maybe it was because of pandemic-related staffing problems. But we were underwhelmed by the entire experience at La Scala's Fire. Nothing went right, starting with the remnants of someone else's food left on the knife in my napkin-wrapped setup (which was never replaced, despite my having asked multiple times and leaving it sticking out at the edge of the table with the blob visible from New Jersey). I ordered a draft Peroni, commenting to the waitress how happy I was to be able to get draft. When she brought a bottle of Peroni and I asked if they were out of draft, she pointed to the bottle and told me "that is draft beer". Among the 3 of us, we had Brussels sprouts, an octopus salad, pasta with peas, a margherita pizza, and rigatoni in a vodka & sun dried tomato sauce. Everything was OK, but nothing was better than that. The servings were ample, but we'd have preferred smaller portions of better food. Dessert was a nice plate of zeppoles, which were the best part of the meal. Our server was nice, attentive, and trying her best to please - but she was clearly not familiar with the menu and seemed not to have much food service experience. If friends ever want to go there with us, we'll give it the benefit of the doubt and another try.
food was out very quickly, drinks took F O R E V E R. they do need help at that bar, staffing with the pandemic is hard to come by. still was great to get out, this place is clean, servers are nice, can't wait to try happy hour.!!!
Our waiter was distracted and lacked experience but this may be due to COVID-19 reopening. Pizza is very good but other dishes are just okay. The kitchen is a rolling kitchen so you could get your food much earlier than your table mates.
Too much food!!! Too much sauce especially. The hard surfaces make the noise level high. Wouldn’t go back.
Perfect in every way!!!
We had a wonderful meal and experience at LaScala tonight. The artichoke appetizer was sensational as was the ricotta board. We shared a couple salads and ordered the eggplant dish and the spicy tuna which were all delicious and will be ordered again on our next visit. Our server Izzy was terrific on a previous visit and again tonight. Look forward to returning.
When I reserved on Open Table, there was an option for a “high top” table, which I selected. And there was also a place to note that we were celebrating a birthday.
Neither was even acknowledged. We were seated at a table for 4 in the back of the restaurant. Just me and my husband - nowhere near the bar, nor any high top tables. The table was sort of clean - you could see food between the two tables that had been pushed together to make a 4 top.
It was busy and loud ... totally fine - except that our server seemed overwhelmed. It took forever to get drinks and then we had to flag her down for a second round. The table was never cleared of anything while we were there. We had an appetizer and waited to order our meal - making it clear we were not in a rush - but certainly did not want to just be left. The appetizer plates, our 1st round of drinks ware were just left on the table when they served the dinner. It was not pleasant. Thank goodness we were at a table big enough for 4.
The food was amazing - which is the only reason I will give this place a second chance.
If you are going to allow reservations on Open Table, train your staff to read the details and be pro-active. I did not want to have to call out my husband’s bday... I just wanted it to be acknowledged.
Awesome food and great outdoor seating! I also love the ricotta board - please try!!!
Our family of 5 ate at LaScala's Fire and were very underwhelmed with the food. We ordered 2 appetizers and they were both good (calamari and cheesteak eggrolls), but the entrees were just "fair". Our server was amazing and attentive, especially when there was a hiccup in the kitchen with 3 of our meals. They never arrived and we were told the ticket was never entered. That wasn't the end of the world to us, as we had eaten the appetizers so the wait was fine. We just appreciated the server keeping us in the loop!
Great meal ! Our waiter Mike was great !
Very disappointed. Food and service was fair at best.
Save your time and money, there are so many better restaurants in the area.
We have been to LaScala's several times. Food is always good & comes out hot. This visit was our least favorite time though. We were at a table in the back & the noise level was very high. Way too loud. We clouded barely hear each other. Also, our waitress was good but she had way too many tables. I ordered wine with my dinner & I didn't get it until I was more then halfway done my meal.
Loved the food but noise level was too loud for more intimate conversations. We ll come back and sit and the cool bar.
Food great and prices are even better. Nice decor but really loud. Need some acoustic tiles so you can hear your guest at the table. I’ve been twice and the service has been awful. Add some some noise dampening tiles and train the waitstaff better or you may not get many people to come back.
Wonderful Happy Hour! Our server Chad was attentive and made our relaxing Friday night even more enjoyable. We will return!
My wife and I celebrated my birthday with a late lunch at LaScala’s Fire. The beet salad was amazing... the veal parmigiana was good... excellent cannoli. You can easily share plates as portion size is large.
Ambience is nice, very contemporary Italian restaurant, however, the music was somewhat loud for holding conversation.
Overall, good - we will come back for another meal.
Set outside and the server was great
Nice time and really good food.
Went for lunch. Great service and the food was delicious!
Wonderful menu, excellent service, delicious food! We'll be back!
Our waiter was great and very attentive. The food was very good. It was such a nice evening.
Our server was fantastic, food delicious and we enjoyed a great girl’s night out. We shall return:)
A really nice evening at LaScala's Fire Villanova. Great service, friendly, responsive, and another excellent meal. We are repeat customers!!
A little hidden gem in Villanova m. Food is fresh and delicious! Our server Lorenzo was friendly and efficient. Definitely will be back.
First time visit, enjoyed the ambience and food. Will definitely return.
Food is nothing special. I’d say this is a good college kid spot but not sure I’ll be going back. Pasta was pretty blah. The pizza wasn’t bad
We've only had takeout from LaScala's until now. Takeout was always wonderful. Decided to eat in the restaurant for Mother's Day and it was excellent! We loved it all- cocktails, great appetizers (man, that ricotta board..... yumm), entrees and salads. All perfectly prepared. Our waiter Jay was wonderful- professional and helpful. We'll be back. So happy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood!
Table was near the door and not ideal temperature. A little chilly
