LaScala's Birra Restaurant
Great food and service. Sat upstairs which is sort of plain.
So good! Lexi was amazing!!
Great as always!
The Burata board was delicious.... had the Spinach & Goat salad, also, amazing. Drink menu was extensive. Would return
Although it's on a little pricier side, for my budget, it is definitely worth it. Super yummy. I totally went blank with our server's name, but he was great! Overall, wonderful customer service. Definitely will come back again.
The food was fantastic and our server, Dario was awesome-super nice, attentive and funny
The noise level was a more loud than to be expected. The indoor seating area wasn’t the most spacious. The cocktails were ok. The Moscow mule wasn’t exactly on point. The gin gimlet was also lacking something. The food on the other hand was very delicious. The meatballs with the fresh ricotta were absolutely amazing. The arincini balls were fantastic as well. The white mushroom pizza with truffles was excellent. The egg cook on top really tipped it over the edge. Definitely recommend this place for a low key dinner event.
LaScala Birra is the place to go for Happy Hour. Excellent food at reasonable prices. My Partner and I dine there every Friday. The staff is awesome. We get treated like family. Make them a regular dining destination 💕💕
Excellent pizza and the sausage and broccoli rabe appetizer was delicious!
Dinner at LaScala Birra last week was really really good! We will definitely return when we are in the area. We sat upstairs so it wasn't noisy and the server took great care of us.
This place has never disappointed me before and is a regular go-to. However, the last time I went there they screwed up my order and the service was exceptionally slow. The waiter was very pleasant but because they made a mistake with my order and I didn't want to wait for them to prepare another order I did not have a good meal.
1st visit and we'll be back. Food & Service excellent!!
We had a late Saturday evening dinner of the eggplant appetizer and two pizzas for 4. The eggplant was delicious and pizzas were great with good sauce and crispy crust (but not burnt). We topped it off with cannolis for dessert, and the wait staff was kind to bring one cannoli with a candle for a birthday celebration. We will definitely return and want to try their entrees.
Great for kids
Went there w/ my sister & nephews (party of 7) Very accommodating w/ a toddler & one still in a high chair! Still just wish they had changing tables for the kiddos still in diapers!!! The Gaaaahlic pizza was so simple yet soooooooo delicious!!!!
The food was very good and so was the service once we were seated. The hostess staff is a little rude and waiting to get seated was kind of s pain
Great spot for Sunday lunch. Food is fresh and service is attentive. Good selection of pizzas, salads, sandwiches, etc. Nice selection of craft beers as well.
great food and waitress was awesome. my only negative was i made a reservation and was seated at the table closest to the door. people were bumping into me as they were coming in and exiting the restaurant. probably shouldn’t have that table for 2 there.
Had an absolutely wonderful time. Food was fantastic with terrific service. Casual place with a great menu and good selection of craft beers. I would definitely recommend a reservation. Everything from the pizza to the braised short rib ravioli were amazing. Our server Kara really knew what she was doing and she helped make my sons 25th a great night. Thank you LaScalas and Kara.
We originally had wanted to eat outside but we ended up sitting upstairs. We were so pleasantly surprised as it had a beautiful view over the square and we had a nice breeze with the window open. The food was excellent and the serve was so nice!
We took our friend/co-worker out for her 50th birthday and had an awesome night! Chuck was great! Very attentive and friendly. We got my favorite, the ricotta board and it was a huge hit! We really enjoyed all of the yummy desserts too especially the zeppoli 🥰 thanks for another amazing dinner at LaScala Birra 😁👍🏽🙌🏽
Eclectic menu, delicious food, great atmosphere and good location.
We were a party of six on unseasonably warm evening. There were many available outdoor tables, which we requested but they stated we were too big a party. We were seated by the door/counter which was not ideal. The kitchen had run out of cured tomatoes for the margarita pizza which was surprising given that must be a more commonly ordered pizza. Fried egg on truffle pizza overcooked, so no runny yoke. Pizza was good, but not outstandingly better than other city options. It took a long time to get beer orders.
We had a large party of 14 and service was a bit spotty at times, we were told upon arrival that we would need to be out by a certain time, which didn't make us feel very welcome but it wasn't an issue. Overall we had a great experience. The food was delicious, the pizza's were amazing! Great place for families and large groups!
Sad to see this spot is now owned by a chain.
Terrible food high prices
First time taking ALL the kids out- two 3 year olds, a 10 month old, and a 6 month old!!! Food was great, pizza and meatball app. Everything came out quick too, which is helpful with all the babies... the biggest problem is the fact that you’re a pizza restaurant, knowing there will be tons of kids coming thru the place and there are NO changing tables. Not good.
The food was amazing! Our server was very nice and attentive but our meal took close to 2 hours because of how slow thr kitchen and the bar was. Even so, we definitely will be going back because the food was great.
I had never been to this restaurant so thought we should try it for restaurant week. I have to say the food was outstanding (salty but good) . What was not good was that we got our appetizers immediately and then waited over an hour for our food! everyone around us was eating, even people who got in after us. No one came up to us to say anything. I had to seek out our waitress and she kept giving us excuses. It was frustrating and I should have talked to a manager. THey did not even say, Here is a free dessert for your troubles. Just NOT right. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.
It was restaurant week, we wanted to check out the passyunk area. Every meal from the appetizer to the dessert was a 10/10.
We've now gone twice, once for restaurant week, and loved it both times. The restaurant week menu is a real deal - they give you full portions. The arrancini and seafood fra diavolo were especially awesome.
Restaurant week was pretty decent! Only qualm was a really annoying child behind us who was very loud.
Amazing! The food was so damn good! As was the service!
Went for restaurant week and ran out of a few items on the menu (of course the items I wanted to order) and one of my friend's dinners were a little cold. Short staffed that night but overall was a great night with god food.
Food took a long time to come out. We were sitting upstairs so service was slow. Took a while to get drink refilled.
Food was fantastic. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back.
Perfect dinner before the stadium series game
My husband took our daughter there for a very special valentines date. It was awesome. She loved every thing about the place and they both loved the food. Thank you for making her night so perfect!
Very good food and service. Good for friends get together and family dining.
The food was wonderful. We had the meatball trio , they were so good., the best I’ve had at a restaurant. I loved how they plated the meatball on delicious ricotta cheese . The mussels were great and the margarita pizza was awesome, made with ricotta and Mozzarella fresh basil and chunks of ripe red tomatoes. Wonderful I look forward to going again
