This outdoor patio is wonderful, the views are perfect and we saw a Heron wading in the river. Super delightful!
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu's "favorites". The ambience was relaxed but can be easily romantic and intimate. Food was outstanding! Portions are shareable and the price can't be beat.
The food and service were good and so was the atmosphere. It would be nice, in the near future, if they could add more vegan options to the menu.
The food is average but the service was good and the view is spectacular
Great meal after a longgg work werk
Best cosmopolitan I've had in a long time. Great service and delicious meal.
well the only downfall was the ice cream truck that sat out front of the restaurant for over a half hour playing the song over and over while everyone was trying to enjoy their dinner; so if thats a normal thing i wouldnt recommend. however, if its not, it was a nice little dinner
I always enjoy meals at LaScala's Birra. It was a little noisy--hard to hear dinner companions across the table--but the food was excellent, and everyone enjoyed the evening.
I love this place! Food is fresh and absolutely delish! Great customer service from beginning to end!
Wonderful gem at Cooper River. The outside patio is wonderful. The food is good and reasonable and they allow you to share plates. There was even a band on Friday. Highly recommend.
20 year reunion
Great service. Fun vibe! Great appetizers!
Girls night with my besties! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The menu has a lot of fantastic choices it was hard to choose. Great variety of pies and pastas. The bread pudding was so so but the Buffalo chicken pizza was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.
Salmon cooked perfectly, apps and salads fresh and tasty, pizza on point!
We’ve been going to Birra for a couple years. The menu has changed and they’ve dropped some favorites: the fondu cheese dip. Also the have new bartenders out back that aren’t good at mixed drinks. Hopefully in time they’ll improve.
Food and service were both very good
Appetizers were good. Main dishes overpriced and quality not that good. Dessert good but small and too expensive
Two of our guests at our table did not receive their entree until the rest of us finished eating-server said she was going to speak to the manager because she was so embarrassed and kept apologizing. Manager never even came to our table! The hosts when we arrived were in another world had to tell them three times that our party was there-will not come back! Service and food has really gone down hill-oh and the bar wasn’t even fully stocked with the wine on the menu!
Fun, energetic restaurant! Service was great and the food was delicious!
It was my sister’s bday. Will, our server, went above and beyond to assure we had the best time. He really added to our experience and I feel like that is rare these days. And of course, the food was AMAZING. Thank you so much!
Always great service and the food is outstanding !!
The food was great, service was speedy and overall ambiance was great, being on the river to celebrate Father's Day! I always enjoy my time at LaScala's!
First time here and it was a great experience, we will certainly return.
The food and the service are always great! The eggplant is always our favorite appetizer to order!
Food was good. Got 2 apps - mussels and cheesesteak wonton - both very good. Entrees were solid.
Service was decent. Pretty quick just not overly personable.
We had high hopes for our first visit after looking at the menu and reviews online before choosing LaScala's Birra.
The restaurant itself was really nice and bright and modern. The service was very good. Unfortunately we were underwhelmed with the food.
At the waitress' suggestion we both ordered a tropical mojito. While it tasted great, I don't think they even opened a bottle of alcohol near it, let alone actually added any to the drink.
The fried calimari appetizer was presented nicely. It had both a marinara dipping sauce and an asian like peanut sauce which was tasty but weird with the calimari. The calimari itself was fine...not the best I've ever had, not the worst. The rings were a bit bland, a bit on the limp side and there were no tentacles.
My husband ordered the Fra Diavlo and it was nicely presented in a large bowl and had ample seafood in it. It was too spicy for me but he mostly enjoyed it. It could have used some cheese sprinkled on top.
I had the Short Rib ravioli. As some other reviewers mentioned, it was a very small portion of bland, barely warm ravioli, covered in a brown sauce with a huge pile of ricotta next to it. I wish I had read the reviews for this particular dish before ordering it because I would have chosen something different for sure.
Dessert options were not exciting enough to warrant it and we paid the bill ($95 including generous tip, which was entirely too much considering the experience) and went out and got ice cream at our favorite local shop instead.
It was a nice night...great to be out on a date night after the long year of Covid changes but I don't think we will be going back to this restaurant any time soon.
Atmosphere was great. Food was delicious and our server was kind, attentive and wonderful.
My wife and I went to dinner with two of our friends. The outside seating was very nice along the Cooper River park. The restaurant is very clean and has a great vibe inside and out. The staff is great and provided excellent service. The food is delicious! Our only recommendation is to better identify the spicy tuna dish as ahi tuna salad. It’s a bit confusing since it’s included under favorites/meals, but is really a salad. We can’t wait to go back and try some other dishes!
Food good. Ambiance good. Waiter was super nice. Only bummer was our reservations said we had a birthday at the table and noone told the waiter.
Our waitress was excellent - attentive to our needs. The food was very good and the tables we’re appropriately distanced. Will definitely return.
I think you should at least receive a side salad with your meal. The lasagna
was delicious. My wife had a Caesar salad with chicken. For the price more
chicken would have been good.
Nice setting in outdoor beer garden. Live music was a plus. Food was underseasoned and disappointing. I feel like their kitchen has steadily gone downhill in the past couple years (even pre-COVID). Even the pizza was tasteless.
This place is excellent. Servers are quick and friendly and the food is phenomenal.
Great staff. Food is always great.
Always a great experience at LaScala Pennsauken
The food was very tasty! The server was great! My only complaint is the stools to sit on weren’t comfortable. I forgot to calculate that in my star rating. The stools are metal and aren’t comfortable to sit in while trying to enjoy your meal.
The environment was stark and noisy coupled with mediocre service and food with the exception of the muscles that were excellent; it was not a great value
Everything we had was so good. The only thing I didn’t like was that the dining room was too bright but service and food were amazing.
The decor and atmosphere was awesome. Food was delicious. It was our first time visiting. We be back as often as we can. A must try!!!!
Love it here. Amazing food and great view.
Lovely setting overlooking Cooper River. Food was tasty but my short rib ravioli with a mountain of ricotta was just barely warm. Dining companion had chicken, crab and shrimp with linguine in a rosa sauce, which was a hit and it was hot enough. We split a Caesar salad, which was very ample, with fresh-shaved Parmesan.
Outdoor dining during pandemic means disposable plastic cups, even for wine or cocktails, but that’s to be expected. Waitress was attentive and efficient.
A nice place for casual dining.
