Wonderful dining experience as always. Our host was very knowledgeable and attentive and th3 food was outstanding.
Great experience. I ordered the fried veggies but did not ask it they were battered and deep fried. They were. I did not eat them. They did not charge. Classy place.
The venue is beautiful... restored home (assuming it’s historic) with period decorations. The greeting was fabulous... the hostess, Gina, along with Diana, the singer and Don, an owner, made us feel wanted and welcome. We are local to Savannah but they didn’t know that until we chatted. I cannot say the rest of the service was as hospitable. A comment was made by, I presume by the GM, about us being early. We were, but we knew that. So, on to it... we were seated 40 minutes after our reserved time. It happens, but, our drinks and dinner took far longer than we felt it should since the restaurant emptied slowly as we sat there - we we’re left in an empty room. Our waitress “disappeared” and another stepped in to help us (she was setting up the room for the next day)... she actually brought our food when we asked if she could check on it. Timing? Doubtful. When we finally finished, 2 hours later (approx 11pm), we could see the staff had retreated to the bar, our waitress was doing set up and host of other activities was in motion to close up for the night - clearly those were more important than serving us. It’s really too bad as we will never return as a result.
NYE night the food was okay, but the service was not up to par. I have never been to a restaurant and waited over an hour for a drink. By the time our drinks came our entree was there five minutes later. The waitress was great , but as for the bar service not was great. Probably would not return.
Top notch in every respect.
Everything was amazing! The steak was perfectly cooked
We have been wanting to try LaScala - love Italian food and such a beautiful venue. Menu was odd - only beef cut offered was a tbone which was very thin, not seasoned - felt like someone made it at home on the grill - gnocchi also lacked seasoning/ flavor . Husband bolognese sauce was more like a chili with large carrot chunks. Just not at all what we expected. Ambiance was nice - staff was friendly. But just not at all in the category of a Vic’s or Pink House. We wanted to love it but did not.
The food was great as usual; however, our dining experience was marred by an extremely loud server who made it impossible to carry on a conversation when she was anywhere in the room talking to a table of guests. In the past we’ve always had very professional, well groomed, well trained servers who added to the dining experience… On Wednesday night the servers were all young and very inexperienced ... awkward service, didn’t know how to pour the brodo broth, almost nailed my friend while shaving the Parmesan. It felt like we were at Mel’s diner. In addition, our table was right in top of another table, we moved our table as far from the other table as possible, but it was still very uncomfortable from a social distance standpoint.
Gorgeous restaurant, very classy, beautifully decorated with artwork. The food was fresh and packed with rich flavors
Always the best place to eat in Savannah!!! The food couldn’t get any better, and our waiter Jordan was the best!!
Father/Daughter Christmas dinner. It was amazing!
We enjoyed the Beef Carpacio and the Olive appetizers followed by Osso Buco and Pasta Bolognese. The ambience is lovely in this beautifully restored Savannah landmark mansion. Service was professional and friendly, and the meal was delicious.
great service, family atmosphere and friendly hostess...
T-bone steak has two sides on the bone. This was served without the tenderloin portion. Gave a 20% discount for the missing tenderloin. Should give the customer what they expect - not discounts. Cesar salad thrown on the plate. Upscale restaurant should have served table-side. Calamari was no better than what you would get at Olive Garden. Gnocchi were huge and hard. Garlic bread was greasy. Waitress was very nice but simply lacked the experience required for a fine dinning restaurant. All things considered, the prices were about 15% to high .
My wife and I have eaten at LaScala a number of times and each time has been memorable. Friday night the special entree was Lasagne and it was delicious. A great wine list made the evening complete. Highly recommend for a special night out.
Had dinner in the courtyard Friday night. Great service, great food & fabulous time as always! I’ve become a weekly visitor here lately!
Outstanding service by Oscar in a beautiful room with amazing food. Kudos to the chef for creating an authentic seasonal menu featuring seafood. We had a great evening!
Service was great, our waitress Carolyn was very knowledgeable about wine and our food options. Do note that when they ask you if you want still or sparkling water the sparkling is $6 for a bottle of San Peligrino. Ate the Bolognese snd it was good but a bit overpriced for a pasta dish. Overall good ambiance and good service
Good safe outside seating. Always good food. Good reasonable wine menu.
Amazing experience all around! Risotto was heavenly!
Simply wonderful ... everything excellent.
Cozy atmosphere, an old house extremely well maintained, excellent service, food of the Gods ... etc ... I was very impressed.
A place where you will never regret, to enjoy with friends, relatives, co-workers ... 5 stars, I recommend
This is a beautiful place to dine, furnishings are absolutely gorgeous!! Ambiance is very sublime. The food is delicious and the service is great. What else could you ask for? We have been dining at La Scala every since it opened and we have never been disappointed.
We took the in-laws there for my wife’s birthday. La Scala is now their new Italian restaurant in Savannah. Everything was as amazing as always.
Because of Covid, we chose to eat outside. The area outside is wonderful. The service and food was great. Will go back
It is always a pleasure to dine at LaScala. The menu has come together now, many outstanding selections to choose from!
Friendly, attentive staff, especially Vanessa and Joe in the bar. Great martinis, shaken, not stirred, ala James Bond. Good food pairing suggestions. Beautiful atmosphere! My husband and I love dining here.
Everything was amazing and the house is incredible. Waiter gave us a guided tour. Must do!
We had been to La Scala in August and were very impressed with the food, service and Covid precautions.
Last night was a different story. The hostess who greeted us was not wearing a mask. The manager who we spoke with about masks was not wearing a mask. One of the people in our party has a compromised immune system and we didn’t feel totally safe with staff members walking past our table not wearing masks.
Sitting on the back porch, smoke was drifting up from the back area where employees were sitting outside smoking.
Our waitress, Vanessa was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable regarding the wines and was very attentive.
Lascala is not taking COVID-19 seriously enough any longer and therefore I would not recommend going there at this time.
Anniversary Dinner
The staff was amazing. Very welcoming, very enthusiastic and entertaining. Multiple staff members talked to us about dinner and it was excellent. Also the live entertainment was superb
Great restaurant. The waiter went above and beyond. Wine was superb.
First time at LaScala. Excellent service and ambiance. Food also very good but limited menu. Will definitely make this a go to place.
Value for food was poor. Our waiter was not very friendly and a bit arrogant. Was not what I expected
Overrated restaurant. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Food is mediocre. Portions are skimpy.
Our server did not tell us of any specials until asked, and did not mention that bread was included so we ordered and paid for bread listed in the appetizer section.
I paid 24 for a square of lukewarm lasagna that was no more than 3x3 inches.
Dessert pieces were 9 and very small slivers.
Our favorite place to go for really delicious food!
My wife and I wanted a new place to dine. It was our 4th anniversary and the staff and food was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Oscar was hysterical and so fun. Outdoor live entertainment with Diane Parker was fun. Lots of character. Covid precautions with the exception of the GM/Hostess who was not masked, everyone else was. We ate outside. The food was good. Pizza was amazing. Lasagna was okay. Chef had us try the gnocchi and it was great. Wine selection was great. We didn’t have dessert. Prices were reasonable. Not the best food. Not the worst food. The ambiance and people made it amazing. We will be back.
Oscar & the complete staff were all exceptionally awesome! We will be resting for the food and do the house tour next time we go! Thank you each for being the BEST!
Very charming and romantic ambience. Perfect for a special occasion. Highly recommend!
Our first dinner out since the beginning of the pandemic.
It was wonderful. Oscar took such good care of us. La Scala is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything was great.
