After a little bit of a bumpy start which was addressed by Ellena, the manager, in a superior fashion, our meal was delicious and our service extraordinary! We will be back and are looking forward to our next experience at LaScala.
The food was delicious and very reasonable. Our waitress was wonderful. She is xplained every thing that we ordered and also told us how much it was which was very nice. We will definitely go back. Once the weather cool off would love to sit outside.
My husband and I had the most fabulous evening! The cocktails and food were delicious and the hostess and waitress treated us like family. Without doubt one of the most wonderful evenings we’ve had out in Savannah. I couldn’t recommend La Scala more! We’ll be back soon.
We all loved the beauty of the house and thought the $32 for the three courses was a great value. It would have been good if you had informed us beforehand that the menu was going to be more limited;however, it turned out OK.
We dined at LaScala before virus time and thought it was too expensive for what we received (eg. $14 for Tiramisu). Going forward, hope you can entice dinners back with reasonably priced offerings. You have such an amazing venue, we surely want you to stay open. The outside dining is enticing too when weather is not oppressive.
Our menu choices (salad caprese, Caesar salad, chicken with pancetta and risotto, bouillabaisse and strawberry crepes) were delicious. The white wine recommended by the sommelier was outstanding. Service was attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. The restaurant had hired a chanteuse who played her accompaniment on a keyboard, and she was very good. We enjoyed everything about our dining experience. Highly recommended!
So glad we stumbled upon this restaurant while searching online. Absolutely wonderful ambiance and service. The owner visited tables to interact with customers. Food was delicious and the historic house the restaurant is in is absolutely charming! Such a great experience. Perfect spot for a date night. My boyfriend is STILL talking about the food and it’s been 2 days since we were there =)
Thanks for the beautiful birthday dinner. Outside seating and service was wonderful. Our waiter was awesome. Thank you again.
Good food...thoughtfully prepared.
Service was poor.
Amazing! One of the best dining experiences ever! I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
We loved all the food and the chef too! Will be back soon
The new menu with your pick of appetizer/salad, a main course and a desert for $30 was awesome!
Staff were great.
Love this restaurant. The food is always excellent.
Excellent in every way as always. The staff did a great job with social distancing and following the rules. Made our fourth of July celebration as special as possible.
We had a fixed 3 course menu which was moderately priced. The food was delicious, but the drinks and service stood out. The atmosphere was beautiful in side the mansion and we had a wonderful evening dinner. My wife had the Kobobs and I had the Prosciutto and fungi pizza. I would recommend either one.
Wonderful atmosphere and service!! Also, food is amazing!
The 4 of us totally enjoyed our meal at La Scala. We started with cocktails mixed by Joe. Try the Assino! It's great! Each of our meals was excellent and the set price was a great value. Our server, Allison, is the best! Afterwards, we went into the parlor to listen to Diana sing some old favorites. It was a wonderful evening, and we look forward to returning.
Wonderful food and service. Gina was fantastic and gave a tour of the beautiful building.
We sat on the patio. Very peaceful, great service. There were some flys and gnats, but the restaurant had fans blowing to help. It is Coastal Georgia, not much to do about them.
Our first visit here. We were seated outside, not given choice ,and music from speaker pointed right at us so was very loud. We asked for speaker to be turned away or volume turned down but neither were done. Waitress was very sweet but apparently had big party inside so she was missing a good bit so service was lacking. Big rainstorm came up and while we were under a tent my husband wound up getting soaked. Food was good but just based on rest of experience we probably wouldn’t return.
The website was never updated. The restaurant was dark (closed) last night
Great food and people. Looking forward to another great dinner there after we get through the Coronavirus.
Service was delayed at multiple points during our meal. The food was okay we dined on the first night of the new menu roll out. The lasagna (really cheesy soggy noodles) wasn’t great but the chicken and polenta dish was fantastic. The bartender was great I had a drink before our meal at the bar and a drink with dinner. Our server was only okay he forgot to put in one of our apps no biggie and waited to fire our entrees after we had finished our appetizers the timing could’ve been better. The tiramisu was really creamy but light on coffee still a great choice!
La Scala was an outstanding experience. We went there tonight for our anniversary (03/11/20). The atmosphere was excellent, food incredible and our server Matt was extremely attentive, friendly and informative. We opted for a 7-course meal which Matt helped us navigate and it was beyond perfection. We started with the octopus appetizer, cheese plate, butternut squash salad, carbonara, filet & lamb entrees and ended with a chocolate torte.
Every dish was crafted beautifully and executed flawlessly. Thank you Matt for making our anniversary special and giving us the La Scala experience.
Great meal prior to Celtic women! Outstanding service!
Delicious food! Phenomenal service by Alfred. Amazing ambience-be sure to take a tour of all the rooms especially the chapel! Best Italian in Savannah!!!
One of the best meals I have ever had from beginning to end! Every sauce was exquisite. The cheese plate is small but so delicious. You MUST have the gnocchi, it was completely magical! All of us loved our meals, and the wine list has something for everyone. I would highly recommend!
My tenderloin was so tough my jaw muscles were sore in the morning. I didn’t mention it at the time. No negative comments to spoil an anniversary celebration.
Small but quaint bar. Several people were eating dinner at it. Meals were wonderful. Good variety. My Caesar salad dressing was fantastic. Normal perfect sized portions. Great ambiance. Service was excellent.
A definite must go.
The rooms were lovely in a Victorian sort of way. Our waitress was sweet, albeit obviously a little too busy. She had a habit of saying, "Are we enjoying our salad? How do we like the bread?" which I have always found off putting and of also saying "I'll be right back with that" which she rarely was because it was clear that her other station was at the other end of the restaurant. The panzanella salad was unique, if a bit bland. The mussels and foccacia were very good. We both felt the fettucini with frutti di mare was overpriced - 1 scallop, 2 shrimp over a lump of overcooked overly tangy pasta for $38 seemed ridiculous comparing to the prices they had for things like veal and steak. The chocolate dessert was overly sweet, gooey and had been described as having a hazelnut crust, which certainly didn't taste like that.
Everything was okay, but it didn’t live up to the price. Slow and inattentive service. No cracked pepper offered for our carpaccio, entrees were good but either fourteen or sixteen dollars for a generic tiramisu was a letdown at the finish. The dessert tasted fine but it wasn’t attractively presented and offered little to no frills as would typically accompany a similar priced dessert in other establishments. Overall everything was fine, but just fine and for the cost their standards should’ve been higher.
My husband and I love La Scala. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. The experience is consistently 5 star. We go for all of our special occasions.
A bit sad the they no longer have the porterhouse dish, but any dish there is really good
This was my first visit and was so impressed with everyone. We were able to tour the beautiful
Had a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner here. Showed up early to my reservation and grabbed a drink at the bar while we waited. The bartenders were fantastic. Next time we go to dine there we’ll probably just sit at the bar instead of getting a table. Table service was ok, she was attentive and I’m sure we were her last table to be seated for the night. One of the hosts (I didn’t grab her name but she was wearing a beautiful silver dress) was lovely. Overall very happy to at this place to my rotation of restaurant.
We made a reservation for Valentines Day and were finally seated after waiting an hour and 15 minutes in the bar area. We were seated in a room by ourselves but service was still slow and the staff was often confused about our order. This restaurant has a very poor and limited selection of Sauvignon Blanc and the one we ordered gave us headaches. Our meals were okay but we weren’t overly impressed. My husband is vowing never to return but I’d like to give it another try in a year. I absolutely love the decor but there are better choices for cuisine and service in Savannah.
Cody the host is amazing. The food is exceptionally over-priced. Aged in house ribeye was 68 dollars??? You have to be kidding. My filet was overdone and was an excellent roast. Gabriel our server was truly overwhelmed, we had 545 reservations and we left at 845, it truly felt like we were at melting pot. He simply was unable to keep up. Champagne glasses for the two of us went empty while we drank water. He apologized to one table who was getting restless saying there was an accident he had with a cocktail. We live downtown and enjoy excellent food and fine dining. We will not be back. My wife thought the pizza tonight (the day after Valentine’s) was as good as last night . Eeeek. For a 309 dollar meal with tip for two we were very disappointed. The Vault or Atlantic would have been a better choice or Elizabeth’s on 37th for that kind of price!!!
Gabriel was very knowledgeable, kind, and professional. Food was divine. Lovely historic building. Our night was perfect!
Monday night $20 two course dinners are the best deal in town. Nice Caesar salad, superb house made bread and the best lasagna in Savannah. All served in a lovely, romantic restaurant. Don’t miss it!
I dont like Italian food but for all the meals we ate this was the best. Wait staff and service was so fantastic. We picked up a reservation last second and loved the place.
We had a wonderful dinner. We were alone in a small room which made it very nice for conversation. A meal was delicious. The magnificent ambience. I thought it was a bit pricey however.
