Great restaurant. The waiter went above and beyond. Wine was superb.
First time at LaScala. Excellent service and ambiance. Food also very good but limited menu. Will definitely make this a go to place.
Value for food was poor. Our waiter was not very friendly and a bit arrogant. Was not what I expected
Overrated restaurant. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Food is mediocre. Portions are skimpy.
Our server did not tell us of any specials until asked, and did not mention that bread was included so we ordered and paid for bread listed in the appetizer section.
I paid 24 for a square of lukewarm lasagna that was no more than 3x3 inches.
Dessert pieces were 9 and very small slivers.
Our favorite place to go for really delicious food!
My wife and I wanted a new place to dine. It was our 4th anniversary and the staff and food was fantastic. Highly recommend.
Oscar was hysterical and so fun. Outdoor live entertainment with Diane Parker was fun. Lots of character. Covid precautions with the exception of the GM/Hostess who was not masked, everyone else was. We ate outside. The food was good. Pizza was amazing. Lasagna was okay. Chef had us try the gnocchi and it was great. Wine selection was great. We didn’t have dessert. Prices were reasonable. Not the best food. Not the worst food. The ambiance and people made it amazing. We will be back.
Oscar & the complete staff were all exceptionally awesome! We will be resting for the food and do the house tour next time we go! Thank you each for being the BEST!
Very charming and romantic ambience. Perfect for a special occasion. Highly recommend!
Our first dinner out since the beginning of the pandemic.
It was wonderful. Oscar took such good care of us. La Scala is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything was great.
Lovely evening out with terrific food and great service. It is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Savannah.
Staff was wonderful, food was amazing and the ambience was impeccable. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You have to experience this restaurant if you’re visiting Savannah. If you live here and haven’t been, what are you doing? Go. Now.
Food was terrific! Staff very pleasant, but service a little slow at first. Maybe just a bad hour? Improved later so we may have just caught them at a bad time.
We were so excited about our date!!!! So disappointed! We were seated very close to another couple. This is a huge place. Everyone was seated in the same room! The music( not soft or Italian was so
Loud!). We asked the waiter to turn it down. He said what music ??? the kitchen music??? He disappeared for moment. He came back and the music was still
Too much. He reported to the manager and it was lowered. Then he told us the specials. I asked what came with the snapper and he didn’t know. I asked if it was what is listed on the menu with the catch of the day and he said yes. There was no shrimp mussels or asparagus! I ordered the grilled chicken. Blood ran from the thigh when I cut it..... they seated another couple close to us. So close the man swapped seats with his companion to keep from touching my husbands back. We asked the waiter to
Move us and the manager came over and asked if we would like to
outside...not may I move you to another table... she didn’t give that option.! She told us the mandate to space tables had been lifted and they check temperature on arrive with everyone. No matter we just felt cramped and too close. Did I mention all patrons were placed in one dining room!? We moved outside where I was bitten my mosquitoes. So disappointed. We live in Savannah. Never go back.! It’s a shame.
The service was impeccable with our wait staff very personable and attentive. I appreciated the quiet atmosphere and tasty entrees. I would recommend this restaurant to outside travelers.
Always a pleasure to dine at LaScala. We have been eating outside in the courtyard because of Covid and enjoy the outdoor ambiance. All of the staff from the hostess to all the servers are wonderful and the food never disappoints! We have recommended LaScala to all our friends and will be back regularly!
I was so disappointed to learn you had stopped offering your pre fixe dinners...such great options & great tasting food for the value! Returned for an entree & drinks & my entree alone was $30!! Just sayin'!!
It was excellent snapper, don't get me wrong but, I would have rather had that accompanied over greens, or with a side salad & then a small dessert!
4 of us came for dinner, we all had different entrees & we ALL loved them! We also enjoyed our 3 bottles of wine!!
Always excellent and unique cuisine with consistent service in a beautiful setting.
Great! Excellent atmosphere and food.
Excellent first visit. Food service and ambiance all excellent. We will return.
Very impressed with the ambience of this restaurant. The food was fabulous. Our party of 6 had a great evening of conversation with service that did not make us feel rushed. We would definitely go there again.
Dinner at LaScala was a wonderful dining experience. Our waitress, Carolyn, was very attentive and knowledgeable. You could tell she truly enjoys and takes pride in working at LaScala. The chef even came out into the dining room and talked to the guests, which we enjoy. The price could not be beat for the quality and quantity of food you get. Eating at LaScala is a true Savannah experience. If you have time, take a tour of the restaurant. The level of detail the owners went to in order to preserve the home the restaurant occupies is exquisite. We will definitely return time and time again.
Beautiful place, attentive service, excellent food. Loved the pre-fixe dinner with starter, entree and dessert.
Great value! We all had something different so we could try it all! SO GOOD! one of the best birthday dinners ever!
From being greeted at the door by Gina.....to drinks and dinner being served by Oscar it was an incredible evening. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Will be returning soon!
Enjoyed the meal and in general the dining experience.Unfortunately there are still some patrons who walk around without their mask but most diners comply. Also it still amazes me that a few people choose to wear shorts in a restaurant as nice as La Scala
Wish we knew they’re exclusively serving a prefix menu but everything we had off the prefix were superb. It did take a quite a while for food to come out. However, the time wasn’t really noticeable since the servers/manager stayed engaged. It was a bit of a time crunch by the end of dinner to make it to our class at the nearby Hostess City Hot Glass. They probably would have accommodated our timeline if we’d let them know when we were seated. LaScala is comparable to the Michelin level restaurants we’ve frequented.
I was concerned by the hostess/manager walking around without a mask, she came by the table several times to check on how things were, which we appreciated, but I expected her to be masked like the servers and everyone else. Otherwise everything was great
Exceptional dining experience! We celebrated our anniversary and didn’t want a tourist restaurant. La Scala was recommended and exceeded all expectations. Exceptional food, service and ambiance. Highly recommend!!
We sat outside for extra safety. When it started to rain servers were very accommodating in moving us to a protected Area. Food quality and value were excellent.
Terrific experience! My first time at La Scala and we'll be back. The food was delicious and our server Caroline totally charming and friendly but also efficient and knowledgeable. Request her table! Loved the food and Ms. Diane on piano was a sweet unexpected addition. Covid precautions were in effect and appreciated.
There were a few small things that could be easily remedied; barely worth mentioning except La Scala is promoted as an upscale venue.
We were excited to go and checked out the menu on their website in advance, but at this time they are on a Prix Fixe limited menu, but at a super affordable price. Would be cool if they'd just note the change on their website.
We arrived early for a pre-dinner cocktail and were surprised they did not have Limoncello available. Apparently, they make it in house and were out. Seems simple to purchase a few bottles or make some more pretty easily. I was told the bartender was really stretched that evening and while polite, not quite as friendly as one might hope. We also had planned on a cheese plate with Port wine for dessert, but they were sold out of the cheese plate. Again, rather surprising as it's cheese which is easy to keep and not spoil, not the limited catch of the day.
Those small hiccups aside, the venue is gorgeous, a manager gave us a tour with history of the mansion, the food really great (and a bargain with the fixed menu for now). They recommended a delightful bottle of wine to accompany our dinner and all three courses were DELICIOUS.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. We'll definitely be returning often.
Beautiful old Victorian house. Was a convent. Even with a limited menu because of COVID the food and ambiance was fabulous.
We came for a date night and made our reservation for the opening time when it would be more quiet. Our server was awesome and let us know his recommendations and provided a great one for our wine selection. We will be back soon!
Food very good , service excellent. Tables were a little close together for today’s issues but overall very good
After a little bit of a bumpy start which was addressed by Ellena, the manager, in a superior fashion, our meal was delicious and our service extraordinary! We will be back and are looking forward to our next experience at LaScala.
The food was delicious and very reasonable. Our waitress was wonderful. She is xplained every thing that we ordered and also told us how much it was which was very nice. We will definitely go back. Once the weather cool off would love to sit outside.
My husband and I had the most fabulous evening! The cocktails and food were delicious and the hostess and waitress treated us like family. Without doubt one of the most wonderful evenings we’ve had out in Savannah. I couldn’t recommend La Scala more! We’ll be back soon.
We all loved the beauty of the house and thought the $32 for the three courses was a great value. It would have been good if you had informed us beforehand that the menu was going to be more limited;however, it turned out OK.
We dined at LaScala before virus time and thought it was too expensive for what we received (eg. $14 for Tiramisu). Going forward, hope you can entice dinners back with reasonably priced offerings. You have such an amazing venue, we surely want you to stay open. The outside dining is enticing too when weather is not oppressive.
Our menu choices (salad caprese, Caesar salad, chicken with pancetta and risotto, bouillabaisse and strawberry crepes) were delicious. The white wine recommended by the sommelier was outstanding. Service was attentive, friendly, and unobtrusive. The restaurant had hired a chanteuse who played her accompaniment on a keyboard, and she was very good. We enjoyed everything about our dining experience. Highly recommended!
So glad we stumbled upon this restaurant while searching online. Absolutely wonderful ambiance and service. The owner visited tables to interact with customers. Food was delicious and the historic house the restaurant is in is absolutely charming! Such a great experience. Perfect spot for a date night. My boyfriend is STILL talking about the food and it’s been 2 days since we were there =)
