Beautiful space, great food, excellent service.
Would definitely dine here again👍
We hadn't been to the restaurant in about 6 months, but we're so glad that we decided to return. Very friendly and delicious menu. Knowledgeable and professional server -Sammy. Gracious and personable hostess. An all-around great time was had by all. Beautiful place, nice people, talented chefs, excellent experience. Three hours of heaven, on earth. (Next time we'll visit the chapel first.) See y'all soon.
A dining experience rather than just going "out to eat". Great food and excellent service. Beautiful dining rooms.
The restaurant is gorgeous, our waiter, Robert was fantastic and the food was delicious. A wonderful evening!
Great place to eat fresh Italian food.
The Homemade ginger beer is so good
We went to La Scala to celebrate my birthday and was not disappointed. We were warmly greeted by everyone from valet to general manager, Tony. What a lovely venue. The garden bar was lush and inviting. The restaurant itself is beautifully restored and charming. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We will be back.
My husband’s Fettuccine Frutti DiMare was lukewarm and sparse on the seafood,, so not worth the $38.00. My trout meal was good and our friend’s Linguini alle Vongole seemed delicious. Desserts were good. Salads were fine.
Our experience was absolutely fabulous. This is our second visit to La Scala and it didn’t disappoint. We own an Inn here in Savannah and recommend this restaurant to our quests. They always come back with raving reviews. Thank you LaScala. We love you!
time after time, consistent
now has open patio area in quite spot, just in time for Autumn
Very classic menu so limited menu choices. Great food however!
The pasta was so tough that no one at my table (true pasta lovers) wanted to finish their dish. I got the shell pasta because it had garlic, olive oil and vegetables. I asked for grilled shrimp as an add-on. The pasta had no flavor and the shrimp were steamed and mushy. My family go the the muscles, which they said were very good. I got a dish of roasted olives that were marinated in vinegar that was so strong we could not eat them. The salads were good. I would not recommend it and asking friends around town, they said the same. Disappointing
From drinks in the bar to dinner in the front room, our experience was exceptional. OK all right I don’t know why I thought that but I thought you had to wear slacks in the main dining room and Friday night
Have dined here many times but for me, a wee bit disappointed. The orrecchiette was bland however two others at our table liked it. My husband loved his Salsiccia appetizer. My veal piccata was tasty but I think the veal could have been more tender. Service was lovely. So, a bit of a mixed review.
From beginning to end our evening was perfect. The service was attentive, but not hovering. The cuisine was beyond delicious. It was a fantastic dining experience.
Beautiful building, exceptional food. LaScala is now in my Top 5 list for go-to Savannah restaurants.
Restaurant itself is very nice.
Ambiance is stuffier than expected, but could be nice depending on the occasion.
Since it’s a converted (huge) house you can end up eating in what was a bedroom, which is fine but you end up in a small room with a couple of other groups. It’s not particularly loud but that also means you feel compelled to whisper and you can avoid anyone else’s conversation.
Food was excellent but it took over an hour to arrive. Things were generally slow - dinner took over two hours for just two people with entrees and dessert with coffee. Again, depending on occasion this might not be an issue but it was not great waiting so long for entrees.
Overall... it was ok but probably not worth the cost of entry to me.
This restaurant is one of my all time favorites! The staff is amazing. They are friendly, helpful, polite, and there for your every need. The food is divine. It’s so much fun to share or enjoy by yourself.
Always a treat to spend a meal at La Scala with a close group of friends. Thank you so much for the hospitality and amazing meal.
We had a wonderful dining experience at LaScala. From the moment you enter the beautifully appointed foyer you realize you are in for a memorable evening. We enjoyed a beautiful bottle of Mondavi wine in the parlor then were lead to the beautiful dining room. There were four of us for dinner and we ordered the lamb Rigatoni Bolognese, Cappellini Pesto with sausage, and the trout. Everything was excellent.
Excellent food and service in a beautifully restored building.
Our server was attentive, knowledgable without being obvious and prompt with table delivery of cocktails, food and wine
The single downside was a table with young children who were constantly up and down playing and loud while their adults ignored the behavior; can't fault the restaurant for that.
Had no problem with parking on 37th even on a weekend evening.
We will return
We had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend!
This is a gem and wonderful slightly outside the "downtown" area. Great reason to explore the African American Museum next door and Starland district. The bar was small charming and awesome bartenders.
Wait staff in dining room was quick, quiet, attentive, unobtrusive and very kind.
The food was amazing!
This is a romantic location, wonderful family or group location and amazing light fare on patio location.
I am going back ASAP.
Disappointing, ordered linguine with clams was served fettuccine when asked the waiter he told me they make their own pasta and they couldn’t cut the pasta thin enough for linguine.... even though I have had it twice before with veal scaloppine. My husband had the puttanesca and it tasted like tomato paste with cocktail olives. I had boasted about the food and dining experience and wanted to share on a special date night with my husband. I was very unhappy with the food, service and experience
I have dined at LaScala several times. It is a lovely place. I rated the food a two star because the food quality is not in line with the the service, price and ambience. The quantity of food presented was insanely large and in fact a bit embarrassing (our party of four all ordered pasta dishes). Again, it is a lovely restaurant and I would recommend you trying it.
Excellent restaurant. The service was outstanding. All of our dishes were fabulous. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My husband and I were looking for a place to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I used Google to search in the Savannah area and found the website for La Scala. I fell in love with the menu and the indoor and outdoor pictures immediately. The service was impeccable, the food was great, and the staff went above and beyond! It was a magical night! They even allowed us to tour the rest of the "house!" The wine was delicious and we went to the bar for an after dinner drink. I had the best Moscow Mule made by Joe the bartender. We will DEFINITELY visit again!
great place for romantic dinner, good food. Great wine and atmosphere to enjoy it in.
Setting is in a southern mansion, service was exceptional and food along with cocktails was phenomenal!!
best Italian in town. beautiful restaurant. great service.
Absolutely incredible! The whole atmosphere of this beautiful, historic home is out of a fairytale! Definitely will be back!
The first time I was at LaScala I had a most delicious salad and angel hair pasta. I thought I was ordering the same tossed salad again but the boy brought tomato/cheese dish and when I said I thought I ordered salad he said no, this is what you ordered, turned and left. So I didn’t want to argue but was disappointed. The steak was good but the pasta dish my first time was superior. If I return I’ll be sure to clarify salad choice and stick to pasta. Michael was waiter and was very nice and I didn’t bother him about salad. Maybe I should have b/c he was so nice he probably would have fixed it!!!
Outstanding food, service and ambiance- veal and vongole were superior
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. I would go back in a second!
Ambience, atmosphere and service were outstanding. The small dining areas kept noise levels down. The food varied from good to very good for what we had. Will definitely try it again. Overall prices seemed a little high for an Italian dining experience.
We had an amazing experience here! My parents are from NY, so finding authentic food is always a challenge. All courses were amazing and the service was A+ too! Highly recommend for a special occasion or day night.
Service, food, and ambience is first class! Intimate dining rooms, beautiful courtyards, and most importantly sophisticated yet authentic Italian dining. Perfect for any special occasion or gathering.
Beautiful chapel upstairs!
From the moment you enter LaScala you know you are in a special place. The service was the best we have had in 20 years. The food was beyond excellent and comparable to those in Italy. The menu choices are excellent with an abundance of attention to detail. I have never given a restaurant five stars but this one deserves six!
This was our 3rd visit to La Scala, and our 1st with the new menu. It was outstanding! It's clear that some serious thought went into the new menu, and the results are just what we had hoped for.
We were with 2 "picky" people, and they couldn't find anything to complain about. This is a first at any restaurant we've been to with them!
We were seated immediately upon arriving. Our server, an really nice woman from Corfu, answered all of our questions fully and was very informative on the preparation of various dishes. She recommended the mussels as a starter, and it was right on the mark. They were plump, tasty, and properly cooked in a delicious broth. My veal with piccata sauce served over spaghetti was superb! My leftovers were delicious the next day too.
We will be back soon! it's too good to stay away long!
The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The bar serves exceptional drinks and the food is great.
