Las Casuelas Nuevas Ratings and Reviews
This was our first trip to Palm Springs, however we were traveling with friends who come here often. They have been to Los Casuelas in downtown Palm Springs on several occasions and LOVE it. As we are staying in Palm Desert, we figured we’d give this location a try. My husband and I found the food and the atmosphere were good however the service was awful. Our friends didn’t think that the food was anything compared to what they were used to at the downtown location. We’d go there again but it wouldn’t be the top of my list.
We brought our dear friend from New York. She was thrilled and ordered a margarita bigger than her head! We all loved the food, the outside patio and the music. The only reason I picked “noisy” was because we were seated near a large table of rowdy young men. We asked to be moved and were quickly accommodated. Thank you.
This restaurant is exceptional. The food is fabulous; service great; and ambience lively. The portions are more than generous. The restaurant is large with many separate rooms, and a lovely outdoor eating area as well. Despite the fact that every area was full and the waiters were all busy, service was fast and friendly.
This restaurant is a gem!
The restaurant was very busy and the service was the worst I had ever experienced there. Our reservation was at 6:45, but our food order wasn't taken until after 7:30. And the live music they provide on the weekends is way too loud. Once they start playing, all casual conversation must stop, because you can no longer hear your friends until the music stops. I won't go back on a weekend night again.
Went to Las Cusuelas Neuvas for dinner while vacationing in Palm Springs. Very enjoyable and worth the drive. Service was very friendly (thanks Maria) and our waitress had good suggestions. Food was amazing and authentic Mexican fare. Try the margaritas! We also enjoyed the deep-fried ice cream for dessert. Restaurant decor is very Mexican. We sat outside and enjoyed a really nice evening.
Arrived into Palm Desert & went over for a delicious meal & drinks to start off our vacation week. Enjoyed delightful combination meals with two large yummy Cadilac Margaritas ! (food delicious & tasty ; cadilac margaritas were grand & soo good !) Atmosphere calm, relaxing, warm outdoor dining. We were entertained by a singer/guitarist. Our dinner experience was great.
The sister restaurant to the Palm Springs classic, Las Casuelas Terrazas, this is actually the one I prefer because it is not in the middle of tourist traffic. It is a gorgeous, romantic location in Rancho Mirage, easily viewed and accessed from the highway. Excellent enchiladas, they use good cheese in the food. Innovative salads if you want to try something a little unusual. Friendly, good service. A mariachi guitarist serenaded with cool versions of all kinds of songs "California Dreaming," "Chariots of Fire" as well as traditional. Not obtrusive. Really nice. Enjoyable experience overall.
Horrible experience. Food didn't taste fresh, was over priced and we all had stomach aches shortly after leaving the restaurant. Do not recommend any of the enchiladas. I asked if they could modify the kids menu for a fish taco as my son doesn't eat meat and they would so we had to buy a full order of fish tacos as they wouldn't do a la carte orders. Service was poor and slow, margaritas were too sweet and not good, didn't taste fresh. The only thing this restaurant has going was the surrounding.
We were in Palm Desert for our annual family vacation (party of 13, plus 2 high chairs). I booked our reservation via open table and called restaurant day of to confirm our reservation, as well as happy hour time frame. We all showed up and were informed happy hour drinks are to be purchased and consumed at the bar only. I asked to speak with manager for some sort of resolution, as our entire party did not elect to fill the bar area. He offered no alternative., and said this was their policy. :/ ok, so party of 12 adults at regular price....thanks management! Meal was over and we looked forward to their ultimate...deep fried ice cream! No, that's not happening either, we were told the batch they made wasn't ready. Uhhhh, what happened to customer service oriented? We left very disappointed, and after 6 years of continued patronage, sadly, will not be returning.
We have been many times. On this night it seemed understaffed and we had to ask repeatedly for anything. They asked us if we wanted our salads first - They were served first - about 20 seconds before the dinner arrived............. lucky it was very hot and it worked out to still be hot be the time we rushed through the salads. The table was sticky and gross - never had a clean problem here, but it was as if they were rushing people out and were not caring that much. 3 employees standing around at desk upon leaving - nobody asked how it was or said thank you. I will go back - But if I ever have service like this - or a sticky table - I WILL say something and not put up with this kind of service. I still recommend, for now
