Las Casuelas Nuevas Ratings and Reviews
We have been to this restaurant on many, many occasions over the past few years.
This was our first brunch and was really surprised by the bottomless Champagne . Excellent variety of food .The Prime Rib, Chorizo Omllette, Seafood etc . All tasty. Excellent value.
We will definitely be back for Brunch, Dinner & Lunch...
We were disappointed in our second visit here. The kitchen seemed to be out of some critical ingredients, forcing us to make second choices. The vegetable fajitas, which were supposed to be broccoli, carrots and squash, was nearly all onions. There was a single piece of broccoli about the size of a fingernail. We were entertaining guests so did not make a big deal of it.
We will try a different place next time.
We frequent this restaurant about once a year as each time we go we want to go close to home and eat Me Ivan food in a fun atmosphere. The atmosphere never disappoints but this visit will be our last. The two beef specials of the house were inedible! Tough dry and fatty meat. Such a shame as the restaurant is so pleasant. Oh well
We tried Las Casuelas Nuevas on our first trip to the area a year ago and were very impressed. It was on our list of places to eat when we came out again this year. Fantastic food and service. This time we had family members with us including our twin year old granddaughters. Geronimo, the guitarist, came to our table and played for them. They loved his music! We will definitely come back every time we are in the area.
We reserved thru Open Table, showed up and was asked to call to make reservations instead of using this all. Odd.
Tonight 2-17, our party of 4 waited in the bar with an assigned pager before staff advised at 7:30 that they'd run out of food. We were offered a $20 gift certificate my a female manager and told that the bar menu was available. Ok, we ordered and an hour later we are waiting for the nachos, slider tacos, quesadilla. The waitress was busy chit chatting with another table ( friends?) And when we questioned the delay, she said the kitchen was busy. What? We went to the front desk and they denied that anyone said the restaurant was out of food, it was just the rice and beans. I guess we are liars. The same female manager walked up and said she'd take care of our bill so aftwr waiting over 2 hours, she comped us a diet Pepsi, a Corona beer, and 2 margaritas. We left and ate next door at del taco.
Never again. Not worth the aggravation
We were a group of 6 that booked this for a dinner business meal. The location was good for our conference venue in Palm Desert. The restaurant is very large, caters for groups quite well and has indoor and outdoor areas for different seasons. The service was very fast, staff were attentive and knowledgeable and the food was of good standard. The portions are huge, only a couple of the group could work through the sizable meals. I'd recommend this to others without question. It is a good fun outing.
Visiting from Calgary, Canada and this is the second visit to the restaurant. The food is the best authentic Mexican we’ve had and delicious! It was served hot and fresh accompanied with the most flavourful accompaniments to build the tacos and fajitas. The refried beans topped with oozing cheese is pure joy for the tastebuds. All the dishes ordered were excellent and kudos to the staff for making this place so easy to return to whenever in town. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the mariachi band leant to the Mexican ambiance. Our waitress Nicole was so very attentive and friendly and took care of everything. Wonderful place and we will be returning! Thank you for a great experience!
We hadn’t been at Las Casuelas for a couple of years and we actually were looking for a good time in a good nice restaurant, so far we remembered it.. what we found was very different from that ... the place looked sort of ‘run down’ , very very loud, and not only because of the mariachis... and the food wasn‘t at all what it used to be.., tasteless and overpriced.. bye bye Las Casuelas...
