Las Casuelas Nuevas Ratings and Reviews
We frequent this restaurant about once a year as each time we go we want to go close to home and eat Me Ivan food in a fun atmosphere. The atmosphere never disappoints but this visit will be our last. The two beef specials of the house were inedible! Tough dry and fatty meat. Such a shame as the restaurant is so pleasant. Oh well
We tried Las Casuelas Nuevas on our first trip to the area a year ago and were very impressed. It was on our list of places to eat when we came out again this year. Fantastic food and service. This time we had family members with us including our twin year old granddaughters. Geronimo, the guitarist, came to our table and played for them. They loved his music! We will definitely come back every time we are in the area.
We were a group of 6 that booked this for a dinner business meal. The location was good for our conference venue in Palm Desert. The restaurant is very large, caters for groups quite well and has indoor and outdoor areas for different seasons. The service was very fast, staff were attentive and knowledgeable and the food was of good standard. The portions are huge, only a couple of the group could work through the sizable meals. I'd recommend this to others without question. It is a good fun outing.
Visiting from Calgary, Canada and this is the second visit to the restaurant. The food is the best authentic Mexican we’ve had and delicious! It was served hot and fresh accompanied with the most flavourful accompaniments to build the tacos and fajitas. The refried beans topped with oozing cheese is pure joy for the tastebuds. All the dishes ordered were excellent and kudos to the staff for making this place so easy to return to whenever in town. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the mariachi band leant to the Mexican ambiance. Our waitress Nicole was so very attentive and friendly and took care of everything. Wonderful place and we will be returning! Thank you for a great experience!
We hadn’t been at Las Casuelas for a couple of years and we actually were looking for a good time in a good nice restaurant, so far we remembered it.. what we found was very different from that ... the place looked sort of ‘run down’ , very very loud, and not only because of the mariachis... and the food wasn‘t at all what it used to be.., tasteless and overpriced.. bye bye Las Casuelas...
Excellent Mexican restaurant, first visit for us. We will definitely come back when we are next in Palm Desert/Rancho Mirage area. Margaritas were very good - may be worth going for the larger house margarita which is $16 as opposed to the smaller one at $11, but less than half of the larger drink. Enchiladas were excellent - plenty of food!
Food was good and service was friendly but we ate inside and the atmosphere was very flat and unwelcoming. It was also a bit too dark to read the menu. Memo: Sit in the outside area if we go again. Also, it was a birthday meal - reception commented on this when we checked in; thats the last we heard of that.
