LArtusi Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent. I had the mushroom with pancetta and a runny fried egg. It is a little spicy but the egg was a perfect complement to the spice. Also had the sweet bread, it was great! My husband had the kale salad and the octopus. He loved everything!
Excellent restaurant and service. It is worth the drive from New Jersey everytime!
I want to be honest, a month long reservation and I was NOT satisfied at all. I was very disappointed in the service from our waitress. It seemed as if she was too busy to come over. The busboys were a lot more attentive then her. The cheese appetizer was incredible. The drinks were incredible. The pasta came out slightly cold and was insanely SALTY. Disappointing to say the least. I probably would not go back. Everything would be wonderful if the service improved a bit and the pasta was not a little cold and overly salty. Also, everyone in the kitchen touching the food and plates with their hands with no gloves was a bit of a turn off as well.
Fantastic all around. Was visiting from Portland, OR and found this place by great reviews online. They are justified and inline. 2 of us shared 6 items and loved them all. Dessert was amazing with the olive oil cake, best I've ever had by a long shot. Noisy and energetic place but would definitely return. Can't miss with anything on the menu, just go for it.
When we arrived, the hostess was seating us at a very tight two top (typical in NYC) with bench so we opted for the end of the front bar with high stool seating. This was great as the bar tender was fantastic and we had a great view of the restaurant. Food was out of this world from the tomato and burrata appetizer (could have had that alone and been happy) to the chicken and pork chop entrees. Probably the best chicken I have ever had. The three flavors of gelato desert were also amazing. This was our best dinner in New York City during our four day stay. I wish we had gone here on our first night and would have retuned at least once. Atmosphere was very nice and wait staff great. Restaurant is also located in a great location on a side street in the West Village.
Our evening at L'Artusi was great. The staff handled seating quite a few of us very well, and the service was gracious throughout. The menu was quite interesting and the food was very good. Having seen my husband open presents, they brought him a dessert with a candle - nice touch!
I recommend it highly.
Not sure how this one sets itself apart from others good Italian restaurants in the city. Food is good, but not mind-blowing; the roasted mushroom is pretty good. The service is really slow and the server is weird and condesending. Room is too dark- many people had to use flashlights to read menus lol.
Our experience was wonderful from beginning to end. It was our second time dining there coming from Fort Lauderdale . Each time we return to NYC it's a must do on our list ! The food delicious, the service over the top and the management perfect. The menu is diverse and has something for everyone. We will be back soon!
This was my second time at L'Artusi, and it didn't disappoint. It is my favorite upscale Italian spot in the city overall. The portions are perfect, and the flavors on the Italian mainstays are rich and unique. The prices are very reasonable given the quality. My only half-complaints are with the outdated pop music (which really doesn't fit the sultry, cozy venue) and the noise level. Regardless, I hope to be back soon.
We were there for our anniversary dinner. Dennis and the staff took great care of us. We had the beef carpaccio, the roasted mushrooms( amazing) to start. My husband had the ravioli with pear and walnuts and I had the tagliatelle bolognese. Our meal was spectacular! We will definitely visit again!
Could not have asked for a better way to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The mushroom appetizer is a must, as are the garganelli and squid ink pastas. Service was professional yet relaxed - not at all pretentious, which we appreciated very much.
The restaurant even brought out a birthday dessert for my boyfriend, which was a sweet touch. All in all, an amazing meal, and we can't wait to come back!
My first experience at LArtusi was phenomenal. I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday, and while it was extremely difficult to get a reservation (I booked a month in advance) the whole meal was wonderful from start to finish. The wine list was impressive, but the cocktails were just as good. We started with the mushroom/egg dish (a must), followed by a pasta course (the mushroom pasta and white Bolognese were both amazing), then the steak, and dessert (the olive oil cake is definitely worth the hype). The ambiance was nice, and I liked how the meal come is unstructured courses. It is definitely a special occasion place, but nothing outrageously expensive. I already can’t wait to eat here again.
The restaurant was packed at 10 PM on a Saturday. I thought we would be safe for a post-show dinner, with a reservation, but still had a 20-minute wait. The service was excellent. I didn’t think some of the menu favorites were mind blowing - mushrooms were great but forgettable. Pasta was very authentic northern italian. The standout was the olive oil cake, soaked in vin santo. A Greek delight! I will go back for a light dinner and heavy dessert.
