Really great food and wine experience.
Love this place
Food was spot on - delicious hangar steak, frittata was amazing and don’t skip the basket of pastries
The service was excellent and the manager was very knowledgeable about the wines. The crudo, salad and pasta were all wonderful, unfortunately the entrée was disappointing. Dessert was delicious.
Second time at L’Artusi and it was as good as the first time, which was incredible.
The food, the ambiance, the service are all 5 Stars.
I can’t say enough good things about L’Artusi. The elegant table and glassware set the stage. The homemade ricotta was amazing as were the salads, pasta dishes, Branzino and Brussels sprouts. So many special touches with each dish that were so delicious but not fussy. Dessert was cheesecake and it was wonderful. We did a flight of Amaro’s at the end of the meal and the sommelier listened to our preferences and came back with four for us to try vs the three advertised. She spent time with us explaining each one. It was one of the evening’s highlights. This was a special birthday celebration and it was soooo good. Really quite perfect.
The only challenge is getting a reservation. I stayed up until midnight 30 days before the Saturday night we wanted a table. I logged into Open Table and typed in as fast as I could and got......5:30pm.
Food was great and service too
Just a great dining experience! the cheese and crackers, the mushrooms and the pasta all excellent. and the hazelnut torte with salted caramel gelato was to die for, But the highlight of the experience was Martin out server! The wine he recommended was great and his choices of the 3 amaris we tasted was exceptional! Thanks martin! Hope to be back soon!
Always amazing. What makes a great restaurant is one that is consistently great every time. That is L’Artusi. Whatever we have is creative and delicious.. Service is excellent. The wine list extensive with many reasonable options, but you can’t go wrong with their cocktails either. And we think it’s a great value. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming. Truly a special place.
Reserve well ahead for tables. .
LArtusi is one of my favorite places in NY. An impressive wine list, excellent food, great service, classy ambiance - everything is on the highest level. We, a party of three, arrived 30 min earlier for dinner and were sat immediately on a larger table for 6. This was our second time here, and we couldn’t get over how all dishes were just outstanding - we were joking that we need to order everything from the menu to find something that wasn’t excellent. This is one of my favorite restaurants ever, I can’t recommend it enough! Also, it’s right next to my favorite NY jazz club - Smalls - so you could come dine here before or after performances!
We had a wonderful time! The food was fantastic! Great atmosphere as well.
Favorite restaurant in NYC 6+ years running. Never disappoints, not even a little
Absolutely fabulous. Every. Single. Interaction. I had a 9:15 reservation for two, but my brother decided to join us and the hostesses were happy to accommodate us. I was shocked it was even possible, but they gave us a lovely corner table. My husband arrived right from the airport and they also stored three backs for him-so appreciative! The server was fantastic and we never had to look twice to have a water glass or cocktail refilled. I had the hanger steak and it was out of this world. The crispy potatoes were incredible and it also came with a whipped chive cream of some sort? I’m not exactly sure what it was, but it was a great compliment to the meal. We also did Brussel sprouts and they were delicious. This is a hard restaurant to get in to, but I’m SO happy I made the reservations a month ago. Best meal I’ve had in a long time-and my husband and I are quite the foodies!! Well done, L’Artusi!
I brought my girlfriend to l’atrusi on Tuesday night for her bday and our experience was horrible. Firstly the table provided to us was inconvenient and was next to the kitchen, we had people on both sides of us and we could hear each other speak because the tables next to us were very loud. Then we asked the waiter for help with the menu and he did walk us through it but he made us order so much food that we could not finish... 3 dishes were more than enough for 2 people but we ended having 5 dishes. Lastly, i ordered an icecream and cake with candles on it for to surprise her. Since it was only the two of us I expected a happy moment for her, where usually the waitresses help and sing happy bday together. Instead it, they dropped the cake at the table, said a very cold “Happy Birthday “ and walked away. She was looking at me so disappointed, that she didn’t even wanted to blow the candles. I know how special her bday is and I thought I made the best decision knowing that she loves italian food.
She said it was the saddest birthday of her life, she hated the food, the service , it was supposed to be a happy memory for us. My girlfriend left the restaurant crying and I will never forgive myself for bringing her this terrible experience.
Gracious yet unpretentious service. Excellent meal. Strikes a great balance that is 'just right'. Gen Mgr knows hospitality. Mushrooms with fried egg, olive oil cake, are truly that good. We had a non mushroom eater that went back for more. My daughter had the seemingly simplest pasta on the menu and it was superb. (Would not recommend this restaurant for young children but our food savvy teens really enjoyed it. Despite slightly tight quarters as many NYC restaurants, each table enjoys cozy & comfortable ambience.)
Always a pleasure dining @ this west village gem
My previous meal at L'Artusi was fabulous. This time, it was more of a mixed experience. Service is great - let's get that said right away. And two pasta dishes were terrific - the ravioli pyramide are both beautiful and scrumptious and the orecchiette with sausage, although over-salted, were delicious. Octopus was okay; crispy sweetbreads were awful and the server took them off our bill. The olive oil cake is divine.
We went to three different Italian restaurants whilst in NYC and l’artusi Was by far the best.
The food looked and tasted great.
Was truly an unbelievable experience! From the host to our server and the FOOD. Everything was worth the hype and the month long wait. I would love to come back often. I hope reservations stop filling up so fast.
Made a note in my reservation that it was my husbands birthday and asked that a candle be placed in our dessert. No candle was provided and when I said something to the waitress, she was so rude about it
From the ambiance, to the service, to the artfully crafted cocktails and extensive wine list, to the most delicious housemade ricotta and other plates, everything was absolutely delightful. The staff there are quite knowledgeable and are very helpful in pairing the perfect bottle of wine with the right dishes to satisfy all diners. Will definitely be headed back there as well as recommending to friends.
4th time at L'Artusi, as amazing as ever. Outstanding food, good service. The carpaccio is mind-blowing.
L'Artusi has phenomenal food and the service and atmosphere live up to the quality of what's coming out of the kitchen. My wife and I had an excellent meal–we really indulged, getting a beet salad appetizer, two pastas, the roasted chicken, and the olive oil cake. We wished we had room for more at the end of the meal. Excellent in every way.
Thus is literally my fav restaurant in NYC. I’ve been to many many 4 and 5 star restaurants of all types, and the service, food, and general recognition of being repeat guests was much appreciated. This is *so delicious*. Honestly, everything is delish. Tonight was beef carpaccio, mushroom vegetable dish, spaghetti, cod, and olive cake. Yes, lots of food but right sized portions. This food easily rivals the best food I’ve had in the best parts of Italy. Our 4th visit, and 5 stars across the board, brunch included. Will be back as often as possible.
Staff was wonderful. I informed them i was celebrating my sisters birthday & they bought out complimentary dishes on the house
Our favorite place year after year! Best atmosphere, always accommodating, friendly, and the beautiful food. Delicious and Devine!
Truly amazing. No wonder they are booked out so far. Pasta!!!
Mediocre food and service
We were seated 30 minutes later than our reservation time, and it appeared that others who arrived later were getting seated before us, which was not a good experience. Had to ask the front three times before getting seated. It was also very busy once we were seated and we had 3 different servers/waiters, which was confusing. The food, however, made up for it.
Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have had in NYC. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone for a casual meal or celebration.
My wife and I went to L’Artusi on our honeymoon and enjoyed one of the most memorable dinners we could have hoped for. We were hesitant about even coming because we could only get a reservation for 10 pm, but upon walking trough the doors, we knew we’d made the right choice.
We had at least six great conversations with different employees and had the sense that they wanted to celebrate alongside us. They helped us with the menu so that we could orchestrate a dinner that was balanced and delicious.
The food was well portioned and each dish was distinct, but within theme. We especially enjoyed the roasted mushrooms and the tuna.
Drinks were great and advised with thought and care.
More than that, the total dining experience was fun, personable, delicious, and one that we’ll treasure for a long time to come.
We went on a snowy night and it was empty. We sat, but no one came to take our order. Finally we had to stop a waitress that was passing by to place an order. And it took forever for the apps to come out. And forever to get the second course. And forever to get the third. After that still no one came to our table so I had to ask a bus boy to get dessert. The party that sat while we were eating our second course finished their meal by the time we got our third course. I felt bad that I didn't have any cash on me, because the tip I put on the bill was 100% intended for the bus boy who refilled water / took dirty dishes. I had a very high expectation of this place but probably won't return again. Service was pretty much non-existent for $160 bill for two.
L’artusi always exceeds expectations, ranging from atmosphere, to service, to the olive oil that comes with the bread, to the delicious pastas and meats, etc. Every experience here has been absolutely amazing and it has become a staple for me and my boyfriend.
Amazing food and the service was awesome. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
The food at LArtusi is delicious but my main issue is the service. Before I finished my appetizer my main course was already on the table. They really don't give you enough time to savor and digest the meal. Right before I could order another drink, I had the bill placed on the table. It seems that they want people in and out the door in less than an hour.
We had a great dinner at L'Artusi. The staff is extremely welcoming, knowledgable, and professional. The food is always consistent and full of flavor, I would highly recommend the spaghetti with garlic and chili.
Went here for an anniversary dinner and the service and food were both exceptional. The team treated us to some Prosecco on the house when we arrived and a beautiful Pasta dish from the chef too.
The food was simply delicious. Amazing pasta and superb apps too.
The restaurant is gorgeous - highly recommended. Can't wait to go again.
The wine list is very expensive!
Too noisy but amazing food
Amazing food as always. Everything is delicious
Second trip and it was outstanding again. An excellent champagne, octopus perfection. We had a gluten/dairy sensitivity and several custom entrees were suggested. Olive oil cake not to be missed. There will be a third time!!
