LArtusi Ratings and Reviews
Could not have asked for a better way to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The mushroom appetizer is a must, as are the garganelli and squid ink pastas. Service was professional yet relaxed - not at all pretentious, which we appreciated very much.
The restaurant even brought out a birthday dessert for my boyfriend, which was a sweet touch. All in all, an amazing meal, and we can't wait to come back!
My first experience at LArtusi was phenomenal. I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday, and while it was extremely difficult to get a reservation (I booked a month in advance) the whole meal was wonderful from start to finish. The wine list was impressive, but the cocktails were just as good. We started with the mushroom/egg dish (a must), followed by a pasta course (the mushroom pasta and white Bolognese were both amazing), then the steak, and dessert (the olive oil cake is definitely worth the hype). The ambiance was nice, and I liked how the meal come is unstructured courses. It is definitely a special occasion place, but nothing outrageously expensive. I already can’t wait to eat here again.
The restaurant was packed at 10 PM on a Saturday. I thought we would be safe for a post-show dinner, with a reservation, but still had a 20-minute wait. The service was excellent. I didn’t think some of the menu favorites were mind blowing - mushrooms were great but forgettable. Pasta was very authentic northern italian. The standout was the olive oil cake, soaked in vin santo. A Greek delight! I will go back for a light dinner and heavy dessert.
The food is incredible! The flavors in every bite are exciting! We love coming to L'Artsui for dependably great, creative food that leaves you satisfied but excited to try more!
The mushroom appetizer is a don't miss, but we highly suggest sharing so you save room for the amazing dessert!
The high noise level changed our overview of L'Artusi from outstanding to good ... ww had to shout in order to carry on a conversation ... totally interfered with what could have been a wonderful dining experience. The butter lettuce salad with gorgonzola was to die for ... the sweetbreads well-prepared ... the ravioli amuse bouche was very much appreciated. This may be for the twenty-and-thirty-something group ... we are a little bit beyond that so should have selected another restaurant.
THIS RESTAURANT! My husband and I have been here two times so far. Each time we have celebrated our wedding anniversary (a new tradition we will absolutely keep!). The first year, I did mention we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and the staff was so sweet about it. They gave us each a complimentary glass of wine and were so kind to us the entire time we were there. This year, we went back on our anniversary and, without mentioning what we were there for and celebrating, our waiter came to our table and wishes us a happy anniversary with a complimentary glass of wine! We were so taken aback that they remembered (still unsure how!). Throughout the night, again, the entire staff made sure we were enjoying ourselves. That alone goes such a long way and we truly appreciate it.
If that doesn't make us want to keep coming back, the food will definitely do that! Every meal we have here and every single thing eat is just absolutely incredible. I never want what I'm eating to end. Every item on the menu is carefully crafted and thought through and you can taste it in ever bite. It's definitely my favorite restaurant in New York City. The ambience, decor, and space is also perfect.
My husband and I will continue to come here every year (hopefully more than once a year) because of the service, the food, and the overall experience. If you haven't tried L'Artusi yet, you have no idea what you're missing.
I can't say enough positive things about dining at L'Artusi. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. I'd highly recommend sharing plates and pastas. The charred octopus was tangy and cooked well. Crispy sweetbreads were salted and breaded perfectly. We shared the tagliatelle bianco bolognese and picci lamb neck ragu with mint and ricotta. All of the pastas looked fabulous though, and I can't wait to come back and try them!
My wife and I went for an anniversary dinner. The food, service and atmosphere were about perfect. Every dish was well prepared; the pastas were cooked perfectly, and the service was fluid, friendly, and helpful. I love well-informed, unpretentious, yet still opinionated staff, and we found that from the bartenders, to the table staff and management. Must try the mushroom appetizer with fried egg, and the spaghetti dish. The Cavatelli was also outstanding.
The wine list is impressive. My only slight on L'Artusi, are the wine prices, which even for a nice restaurant in NYC, were overpriced. Again though, the volume and quality of options, and the fact that the General Manager stopped by and helped us choose a bottle we loved based on our tastes and order, made for an outstanding experience.
