Great food, experience, service, and neighborhood!
Really exceptional - wine was amazing, service was exceptional and the food was incredible
This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in NYC...impossible to secure a reservation without much planning ahead...but WELL worth the wait.
Food is really good. Been here twice now and very happy both times. My only concern is that it gets quite loud in there. Not a great place for an intimate or romantic meal.
There were four of us and everything was delicious. I am not one to pick an Italian restaurant, but glad I tried L'Artusi. Enjoyed everything from the meal to the service!
This was the best dinner my husband and I have had in years! Each course out-shined the previous. We couldn't pick a favorite. Here is what we ordered, we shared everything down the middle and it was the perfect amount of food: for apps we had the beef carpaccio and the himachi tartare, (skipped the verdura course) our two pastas were the potato gnocci and fettucini nero, (skipped the pesce course) and our main was the hangar steak (which came with the most amazing potatoes) and our side were the brussel sprouts. The night was topped off by our knowledgeable and friendly waiter, John. Often, many restaurants fail to balance great food with a courteous waitstaff. It was a detail that turned our great night into a fantastic one!
Amazing food and a great experience. Perfect for date night.
I had a recent birthday dinner here and it was really enjoyable. The food overall was good with the brussel sprouts being my favorite dish along with the chocolate dessert. The surroundings had a warm and cozy feeling but the noise level is on the more energetic side. Our server, who I don't think told us his name did an excellent job. He was friendly, knowledgeable of the food and alert to his clients needs so that he didn't have to constantly check in on us which can be annoying.
The food and the service were wonderful!
I've been a couple of times and loved it, but was a bit disappointed this time. I found the food quite salty for some reason. I'll still go back, I think it's a great restaurant, I probably just didn't order the right dish for me.
I had my birthday dinner here last night and I had a great time. The staff was quite busy so we had to flag them down a few times, but the food was worth the wait. I wanted to order 10 more sides of the parsnips and the pumpkin tiramisu. Next year!
Food was great but service was mediocre! The menu was quite limited and you will definitely need the candle on the table to read it. The wine list was confusing since it detailed wines by region instead of category. And the wines were overpriced, as well. The appetizers were good but small portioned. Don't order the cheese sampler; you'll be paying for a lot of crackers and very little cheese. As far as entrees, the hen was fabulous. One of the diners in our party ordered the hanger steak and thought it was excellent. I'd say I would probably go back there to eat since it's a good neighborhood restaurant and it's casual. They just need to work on the service and the wine list!
This is a good brunch spot with a nicely chosen menu, good friendly service and a nice casual not too noisy ambience. Definitely recommended.
Every dish we had was outstanding. Beef cappaccio was the best I've ever had. Pastas were outstanding and service was wonderful. Well done
Amazing Italian Place, all the pastas are delicious and service is great.
We love L'artusi! They were so accommodating to us. Excellent food and service even despite hurricane sandy blowing its wrath outside! Hats off to you guys, we love this place!
Food is amazing, The service is excellent. The mushroom app is to die for we ordered more it was so good. The pasta and chicken are sumptous. The brussel sprouts I cant stop thinking about and we live in LA but go back when we go to NY - Bravo!
Excellent, as always. The pasta dishes are always served hot and they are delicious. This is a great place. Not fancy, just a great local spot.
My favorite restaurant in NY. Simply perfect!
Would have given a 5 star rating but the waiter forgot to bring us bread. We had to ask otherwise service was excellent! Excellent dessert!
Impeccable food and incredible service. Even when my date hit traffic and was 30 mins late they unexpetedly held my table and were extremely accommodating. Great experience and a great evening.
Everyone at the restaurant was welcoming! Nick our waiter was friendly, helpful and efficient and his suggestions excellent.
The portions were not large but just as described. We started with a homemade Ricotta with fig jam which was delicious, followed by Spicy Octopus with potatoes, then Pasta with a Mushroom Ragu, both superb. All these we shared.
Then we each ordered Sweetbreads, Fantastic!!
The deserts terrific, the pity we couldn't have them all. We chose the Hazelnut and the Mascarpone.
We went pre theatre, advised them of the time limitation, and they were super efficient.
A delightful experience to be repeated on our next trip to NYC.
Great service and amazing food! We were blown away by entres and sides. Thank you!
Very loud with cramped seating, even for NYC. The waiters bumped my chair every 10mins or so. They crammed 8-9 big guys at a six person table and other options were available. This action caused some of these other problems.
Difficult to her a very soft spoken waitress.
When I asked for a specific glass of wine, I was told by the bottle was only option. However, my last visit with a celebrity I was served the sme wine by the glass. As good as the food can be, my guest was uncomfortable which made the evening a disappointment.
Solid restaurant for all occasions. If you can't get a reservation, drop by and sit at the chef's counter.
Delicius, cool, trendy, romantic, just wonderful! The food and the wine list was espectacular!!! One of the best restaurants in NY by far!!! Thanks
Incredible food--the tagliatelle is absolutely amazing. we also had the coconut run cake dessert, which was so tasty. it was not very coconuty and was the perfect set of flavors. They remembered my note that it was my guest's birthday, which was special. and finally, they have a lot of wines! i spent the summer in sardegna, italy and had some of the best wines i've ever had. and finally, i found a restaurant in ny that has more than 1 sardi wine! thank you!
Spaghetti, brussels sprouts and the mushrooms are a must.
The manager was very friendly and accommodating. The host was also very welcoming and we appreciate the courteous service given throughout our dinner. The food, well each dish had a phenomenal character that I will remember. I think everyone in our group of 5 loved each item we ordered. We loved the appetizer, pasta, & main dishes so much that we were very curious what was offered in the dessert menu. We ended up ordering 5 desserts at the end. Would def love to come back.
Back for the second time for brunch. Had some of the "healthier" choices on the menu - an amazing frittata, and wonderful granola and yogurt with fresh figs and fig jam. Huge portions and absolutely delicious. The basket of pastries wonderful, especially the toasted grain bread - better than any toast we've ever tasted. Huge mugs of strong coffee. Friendly service. Great value for the money.
I'd been wanting to go to L'Artusi for some time. The hostess set an unfortunate tone for the night. She virtually pushed us to the bar. We were eventually seated in a bad spot and after a minute we slid to the next table which was open. The hostess passive aggressively chastised us for moving and said we should have asked her first. When I said, "we'll I'm asking you know", she replied, "we'll you should have asked BEFORE!" and started a forced smile argument. She'd a hostess as in "supposed to be s good host" but left such a bad taste in our mouths. At that point we were going to leave but stayed. The sever was great and food very good. However it was so noisy we couldn't hear each other. Don't know if I'd go back.
My number 1 favorite west village restaurant. So amazing. Love the pastas. Love love love
Best meal we had in NYC - we ordered gnocchi with lamb ragu - insanely soft pillows of dough, orecchiette with sausage, grilled octopus with potatoes, and the roasted mushrooms w/ pancetta, fried egg and pecorino (yum). We were seated on the second floor, which lacked the ambiance of the first floor, and it is quite noisy. Although we had 3 waiters attending to us, none seemed to know what the other was doing. Overall, the fabulousness of the food truly outweighed the issues with the service and our table location. Would highly recommend.
Delicious food but small portions.
go with the pasta- I had order fail & got the fish.
The server was exceptional -- recommending a wonderful wine and giving the 3 of us a taste comparison. He recommended his favorite dishes -- which we ordered and found them all excellent. Only drawback was the noise level upstairs on a crowded Saturday night: "energetic" is an understatement. Would recommended seating downstairs -- but even that area seemed noisy. Nonetheless the food and wine and service were outstanding.
Awesome Food. desserts could be better. They don't carry the quality of blowing you away like the food does.
Roasted mushrooms, orichette, gnocchi, skirt steak were all good but in particular the mushrooms and gnocchi. Also had the raspberry tiramasu and the olive oil cake. Both were great as well.
