LArtusi Ratings and Reviews
The food is incredible! The flavors in every bite are exciting! We love coming to L'Artsui for dependably great, creative food that leaves you satisfied but excited to try more!
The mushroom appetizer is a don't miss, but we highly suggest sharing so you save room for the amazing dessert!
The high noise level changed our overview of L'Artusi from outstanding to good ... ww had to shout in order to carry on a conversation ... totally interfered with what could have been a wonderful dining experience. The butter lettuce salad with gorgonzola was to die for ... the sweetbreads well-prepared ... the ravioli amuse bouche was very much appreciated. This may be for the twenty-and-thirty-something group ... we are a little bit beyond that so should have selected another restaurant.
THIS RESTAURANT! My husband and I have been here two times so far. Each time we have celebrated our wedding anniversary (a new tradition we will absolutely keep!). The first year, I did mention we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and the staff was so sweet about it. They gave us each a complimentary glass of wine and were so kind to us the entire time we were there. This year, we went back on our anniversary and, without mentioning what we were there for and celebrating, our waiter came to our table and wishes us a happy anniversary with a complimentary glass of wine! We were so taken aback that they remembered (still unsure how!). Throughout the night, again, the entire staff made sure we were enjoying ourselves. That alone goes such a long way and we truly appreciate it.
If that doesn't make us want to keep coming back, the food will definitely do that! Every meal we have here and every single thing eat is just absolutely incredible. I never want what I'm eating to end. Every item on the menu is carefully crafted and thought through and you can taste it in ever bite. It's definitely my favorite restaurant in New York City. The ambience, decor, and space is also perfect.
My husband and I will continue to come here every year (hopefully more than once a year) because of the service, the food, and the overall experience. If you haven't tried L'Artusi yet, you have no idea what you're missing.
I can't say enough positive things about dining at L'Artusi. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. I'd highly recommend sharing plates and pastas. The charred octopus was tangy and cooked well. Crispy sweetbreads were salted and breaded perfectly. We shared the tagliatelle bianco bolognese and picci lamb neck ragu with mint and ricotta. All of the pastas looked fabulous though, and I can't wait to come back and try them!
My wife and I went for an anniversary dinner. The food, service and atmosphere were about perfect. Every dish was well prepared; the pastas were cooked perfectly, and the service was fluid, friendly, and helpful. I love well-informed, unpretentious, yet still opinionated staff, and we found that from the bartenders, to the table staff and management. Must try the mushroom appetizer with fried egg, and the spaghetti dish. The Cavatelli was also outstanding.
The wine list is impressive. My only slight on L'Artusi, are the wine prices, which even for a nice restaurant in NYC, were overpriced. Again though, the volume and quality of options, and the fact that the General Manager stopped by and helped us choose a bottle we loved based on our tastes and order, made for an outstanding experience.
We've eaten here many times with always a positive experience. There were a few hiccups this past time that discolored my wholly positive view of the restaurant. While the food was good portion sizes seem to have shrunk, we had to ask for bread rather than offered and were not able to get the server's attention for an additional wine order once distracted by other customers. Add to that errors related to redeeming our OpenTable dining reward, and unfortunately the overall experience won't have us running back.
Well ! L'Artusi, you did it again! My sixth visit since June and I am more enamored each time !
This night was special as my husband and I had our two adult kids in NYC at the same time and this called for a pasta celebration!
We all shared appetizers: favorite was a tie between the roasted mushrooms and the fluke crude with strawberries in buttermilk! Every bite delighted us all!
Pastas were also shared and adored! Next, hangar steak , potatoes, corntorni, and salsa bianco amazed us even though we were so full! We then ended with the delectable olive oil cake!
Our kids loved every bite!
Thank you to Kiera for her hospitality and Nicki for saying hi!
We will return because we are in love with L'Artusi!
It's been 3 years since I last went to Lartusi. Still is excellent. Consistently putting out high quality food at a fair price in a welcoming environment. Fabulous layout and self selection on the wine list. Extensive Italian wine options. Overall Excellent.
