My wife and I went to L’Artusi on our honeymoon and enjoyed one of the most memorable dinners we could have hoped for. We were hesitant about even coming because we could only get a reservation for 10 pm, but upon walking trough the doors, we knew we’d made the right choice.
We had at least six great conversations with different employees and had the sense that they wanted to celebrate alongside us. They helped us with the menu so that we could orchestrate a dinner that was balanced and delicious.
The food was well portioned and each dish was distinct, but within theme. We especially enjoyed the roasted mushrooms and the tuna.
Drinks were great and advised with thought and care.
More than that, the total dining experience was fun, personable, delicious, and one that we’ll treasure for a long time to come.
We went on a snowy night and it was empty. We sat, but no one came to take our order. Finally we had to stop a waitress that was passing by to place an order. And it took forever for the apps to come out. And forever to get the second course. And forever to get the third. After that still no one came to our table so I had to ask a bus boy to get dessert. The party that sat while we were eating our second course finished their meal by the time we got our third course. I felt bad that I didn't have any cash on me, because the tip I put on the bill was 100% intended for the bus boy who refilled water / took dirty dishes. I had a very high expectation of this place but probably won't return again. Service was pretty much non-existent for $160 bill for two.
L’artusi always exceeds expectations, ranging from atmosphere, to service, to the olive oil that comes with the bread, to the delicious pastas and meats, etc. Every experience here has been absolutely amazing and it has become a staple for me and my boyfriend.
Amazing food and the service was awesome. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
The food at LArtusi is delicious but my main issue is the service. Before I finished my appetizer my main course was already on the table. They really don't give you enough time to savor and digest the meal. Right before I could order another drink, I had the bill placed on the table. It seems that they want people in and out the door in less than an hour.
We had a great dinner at L'Artusi. The staff is extremely welcoming, knowledgable, and professional. The food is always consistent and full of flavor, I would highly recommend the spaghetti with garlic and chili.
Went here for an anniversary dinner and the service and food were both exceptional. The team treated us to some Prosecco on the house when we arrived and a beautiful Pasta dish from the chef too.
The food was simply delicious. Amazing pasta and superb apps too.
The restaurant is gorgeous - highly recommended. Can't wait to go again.
The wine list is very expensive!
Too noisy but amazing food
Amazing food as always. Everything is delicious
Second trip and it was outstanding again. An excellent champagne, octopus perfection. We had a gluten/dairy sensitivity and several custom entrees were suggested. Olive oil cake not to be missed. There will be a third time!!
Service was great! Food was better! Only complaint I have is the rabbit gnocchi had a bone in it, which is never appetizing. Regardless, I will be coming back!
Our waiter, Martin, made a flawless wine suggestion for our meal. Everything was delicious for not outrageous prices. We had a wonderful meal, everyone was delightful, and we had a great date night! We will definitely be back! (We made the reservation in the first place because the head chef is a Buckeye!)
I went for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend and we both agreed that the small dishes were just enough food between us. We ordered about 5 dishes and the dishes are split into groups like Crudo, Vegetables, Meat, and Fish. The food tasted delicious and we finished everything. The wine and drink list was enormous like a story book. The service was pleasant and top knotch.
We had a memorable meal with very good food. The bucatini and sauce were sublime. Our Waiter, Dennis was excellent. He provided great service and was very helpful with recommendations (when asked) and very friendly. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Hands down, our favorite restaurant in NYC. We have dined there 3 times in the past 2 years (everytime we've been in NYC since discovering it) and have had exceptional meals and service everytime. Sitting at the bar overlooking the kitchen is very entertaining, to watch the chefs at work. The food at L'Artusi is fantastic and the service is equally memorable, no attitude, very friendly, warm and welcoming. It is also an excellent value for the quality of the food and the experience. If you only eat at one nice restaurant in NYC, this is it!
Great food, great service!
This was my first time to dine at L'Artusi. I could only get a 5:30 p.m. reservation via Open Table, but my train was late (NJ Transit naturally...) and so I got to the restaurant at 5:55. But there were plenty of open tables. Hmmm... In any case, the food was wonderful: I started with the raw scallops and thimbleful of clam chowder. A bit too much lime juice on the scallops, but still tasty. Next were two pasta dishes, the bucatini with spicy meat sauce and mushroom stuffed ravioli. Both were excellent, the ravioli being creamy, fragrant and smooth. My salad was the "butter lettuce" salad--enough for two! It was like a stack of pancakes made with many leaves of buttercrunch lettuce, but with gorgonzola, walnuts, something else crunchy (pomegranate seeds?) and chunks of black olive hidden in the middle. It too was delicious, but too much for one person to finish.
This meal was perfect. Service was spot on, great wine list. We shared 3 pastas, Tagliatelle, Orecchiette and the Cavatelli . All were soo good!!! Ended with Budino -yum.... Must go back again.
Always the best!!
Fantastic service and food, as has become commonplace for LArtusi. Ordered the ricotta special , 2 starters, a vegetable, and 2 pastas, which seemed like a good amount of food for a date. Received great help as well with the wine, though the wine was a bit cold (admittedly opening up more once left in the decanter). Spectacular experience overall.
Everything was great.
was really excited to try l'artusi since i have heard great things - while the food was awesome, the noise level was earth-shaking (on a tuesday!). i could barely hear myself think, let alone hear the person across from me speak. was pretty disappointed as this was a special occasion. the atmosphere ruined what would have otherwise been a great experience.
Always great food!
This place is AMAZING!!!
I’ll keep it short and sweet. OUTSTANDING!!! Cheese, to Apps to Chefs Specials were just amazing. Pasta was immaculate. Wine selection is immense!! They have good beers and great cocktails. Dessert was mouth watering. Danielle was a joy as she gave us a great table, treated us like regulars and acknowledged our special night which was our 5th Anniversary. I would let them cook every meal for me if I could.
Food could have been better had high expectations and did not deliver.
The food is always the absolute best... worth making reservations a month in advance 🤗
Food and ambiance are great Service was good. My only commentary is that the dishes are brought out together ( in 2s or 3s) so inevitably the food gets cold. I assume they want everyone out the door as fast as possible.
Service was great, every food item that came out was terrific
Strange decor and loud, inappropriate music detracted from a good meal and very good service.
Amazing place, fantastic food great waitress
It's not easy to get a reservation here, but well worth the effort. We came at opening time on a Monday night in January, and the place rapidly filled up. All severs were friendly, prompt and personal. Cocktails were generous, appetizers (tuna tartare and hamachi) were wonderfully seasoned and sauced. We had been told not to skip the pasta course (good advice) and the cavatelli with wild boar ragu and pappardelle with white Bolognese were to die for. Combined with glasses of Barbera d'Asti, we shared the spicy grilled octopus, also excellent. Then we forced ourselves to try the excellent desserts and coffee. Hazelnut tart with hazelnut gelato and warm, crisp apple tart with buttermilk gelato sent us on our way. Fantastic meal.
superb food and experience, highly recommend. tough to get a reservation though.
My husband and I went for brunch. It was a great meal. The service was good and so was the food.
One of the top restaurants in the city. I loved the atmosphere and food.
Food wasn't that good way too rich
This was my 5th time at L'Artusi... enough said! My boyfriend and I love this restaurant and come here for practically every special occasion. Reservations are hard to come by, so I recommend booking now for next month.
L'Artusi exceeded our expectations! We went for my boyfriend's dinner, and the servers treated us so well. We got free tastings of their carrot soup and beet ravioli. The olive oil cake for dessert was the right move. All in all, impeccable food, service and ambiance. A top choice for Italian in the West Village.
Great pasta but the staff messed up the bill so it left a bad taste
