The appetizers and chefs amuse were the best food. Our entrees weren’t great. When we arrived for our reservation they did not have a table for us so they sat us at the bar instead which was disappointing at first but the bartender was great and made it a good experience.
Scallops and mushroom scrumptious
The ambiance was cold. The staff seemed uninterested in working there. The service was like in a caffeteria. We were rushed thru our dinner by people removing our plates too quickly. The place seemed empty but could not get a table!
Food was absolutely amazing!
Extremely delicious food at a great price point. Will definitely come back.
The restaurant was full and was WAY loud, not only due to a large table of bro’s next door, but they weren’t using inside voices. We had excellent service; creative cocktails and mostly outstanding food - one pasta dish, orecchiette with sausage, was disappointingly ordinary.
Food was delicious, service very good and cocktails amazing!
Every time I thought to look for a reservation here, the only times were 10pm and that is too late for me! When I finally saw an earlier slot, I jumped on it. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was an amazing meal! We ordered the mushrooms (recommended by everyone we asked), gnocchi, trofie, and octopus - and we had the option of the octopus coming out as an app (which we selected) or as 3rd course. The chilies were definitely noticed but not overpowering. The gnocchi was perfectly done and the rabbit ragu with it was so hearty. We had the olive oil cake for dessert and a complementary honey lavender ice cream with pignoli cookie as a birthday surprise! If we weren’t so stuffed, we would have ordered another cake. With the meal we had a delightful nebbiolo and the server was very knowledgeable when making the recommendation. We will be back, and I don’t care what time it is!
Everything was delicious! Pastas were incredible but the pork chop was life changing!
Hands down one of the top 3 restaurants in Manhattan. Delicious food, great service, food vibes. Always get at least 2 pastas (if not more)!
Ok. I know everyone LOVES this place. It’s meh. The drama of having to stay up until midnight to book is not justified. It’s good but it’s not mind blowing good. I think Lupa far surpasses and we don’t feel the pressure of “move it so we can turn your table”. Prices are reasonable but it’s too competitive in the City.
Our favorite as always - great to have a new waiter, Will, and look forward to coming back!
Lovely, cozy, chic spot serving delicious food and with a remarkably good wine list. It’s been discovered by more corporate types (was inevitable) and can be a scene on weekends and later at night, but that small aggravation couldn’t keep me away.
Food was amazing ... fresh and full of flavor
Olive oil cake is a must try !!
After waiting 2.5 months to get a reservations it was WORTH THE WAIT. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I can't wait until my next visit!
Food and Service are the best . No wonder it’s so highly rated by Zagat .. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR ORDER THE SPAGHETTI!!!
Anniversary- they gave us complimentary sparkling champagne
Excellent from start to finish
We sat upstairs where it was really cute but not too loud. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations. The special of homemade ricotta was amazing! And the pasta was even better, will definitely be back!
Reliably excellent - service, food, and ambiance are all always top notch.
We celebrate our anniversary here every year, my wife’s #1 restaurant in NYC. Never disappoints.
Food was incredible and the wine selection was equally amazing. One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in NYC.
L’Artusi has become one of my go to restaurants in NYC. Dining at this establishment is not only about an amazing meal, the service and ambiance make you feel like you are a movie star.. I could not believe the waiter, Abdul remembered my very specific drink. The prices for a restaurant of this caliber are very reasonable and the portions are large.
Reservations are tough to get, but so worth waiting for. I had the octopus and the chicken and both were phenomenal. I can’t say enough positive things about this restaurant.
Service was outstanding as usual, manager always stops by to check on us. Great staff and ambiance, not to mention the food is always amazing!
I always come here when visiting NYC. The service, food, and ambiance are consistently good. Their simple spaghetti with parmesan and a little spicy kick from chiles was al dente and one of the best pasta dishes I have ever tasted.
Everything we had was delicious, fresh and unique. Definitely adding this to my list of favorite NYC spots.
Amazing as always - consistently the best restaurant I've been to.
Service wasn’t great - food came out to the table next to us far before us even though they sat down a lot later.
It was a fantastic place and had one of the best pastas I’ve ever had AND I’ve been to Italy!
Service was incredible. Very friendly servers and made great recommendations.
The food was amazing. I loved the ricotta paired with the compote. The hanger steak with the whipped creme and potatoes was the true star of the meal. Finished it off with the savory sweet olive oil cake.
Would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant.
Considering the proximity to the next table, I’d still recommend it to my friends. The spaghetti was so light and delicious. The crunchy topping was amazing. My husband enjoyed his quail. We both enjoyed the oil cake with a scoop of chocolate gelato.
I chose this restaurant because it had gotten so many good reviews for food and was described as one of the most romantic restaurants in New York. We arrived on time and were immediately seated at a table along the wall opposite the bar. At first, I thought it might not be a great table, but actually it was as good as it gets. The bar, where many patrons eat, extends almost the whole length of the downstairs. My husband mentioned to the hostess that we were celebrating our anniversary. Our server, who was charming, brought us each a sip of Prosecco to celebrate. A nice touch. I went to the rest room to wash my hands. Upon entering the very, very dark room, I looked in vain for a light switch. After a while, I realized the lights were on! The room was black. I had to grope around and finally found the hand dryer. Back at the table, we quickly became acquainted with the couple next to us because the tables were so close. The place was noisy, making it easier to talk to the stranger sitting next to one than to one's partner across the table. The menu is interesting. I ordered a chicory salad and gnocchi with rabbit ragu. My husband ordered mushrooms and charred calamari. We ordered wine by the glass. The bottles were expensive. House-made sparkling water was free. Another nice touch. I enjoyed my food. My husband did not enjoy his. Both of his dishes had too much hot pepper. We didn't have dessert.
Amazing food and service!
Food is great and the service is AMAZING
This is a MUST!
Outstanding food and exceptional value. I had a pork chop that was among the best I have ever had (at about one half the cost of my all time favorite). Service was also very good and every staff we interacted with was friendly and professional. We will be sure to return and recommend it highly.
Went on out first date and came back for our anniversary
You can’t beat the scallop crude for best appetizer. It was delicious. I also had the jalapeño clam pasta. Amazing!
The food is very good. Let me say again: very good. However it is far from being the best, specially in NY. Is it worth if you happen to find a convenient time or just want to sit at the bar? Yes. Is it worth making reservations at midnight one month in advance or waiting for hours for a spot in the bar? Hell no!
Prices are very fair and portions are ok if you want to share a couple of dishes or eat one by yourself.
Service lacks a lot of attention. Everything seems rushed, including the bus boys clearing the table very very fast. Servers can’t keep up with the crowd and things gets very slow when it comes to ordering something. For a restaurant that is used to being overbooked this should’ve been addressed already.
After I ordered I overheard from the table on my left that there were specials (that I would have loved to order had I been told about them) and no “compliments from the chef” like the small soup that the table on my right got. Service must be at least a little more consistent.
At the end, good restaurant, above average food but not worth going if it’s a struggle to get a spot or if it’s out of your way.
It would be better to make it clearer that the scallops appetizer was a raw dish. While the hangar was delicious, the very large portion of roasted potatoes was much, much more than necessary. Very good beet salad.
The oil cake. We got 2!
