L’artiste Musclé is a little gem in Mayfair area. The bistrot looks really lovely and cosy and the staff is absolutely fantastic. The menu is decent and the wine list extremely good. Food wise, I will admit it was comme çi comme ça. Definitely not bad but also nothing extraordinary. Will probably return in the new year to try the cheese and charcuterie boards.
For a French living in the UK it was a taste from home. The atmosphere and more importantly the food, were the one of the timeless French "bistrot". The addition of some nice spices to the plate made it a perfect blend of Algerian and French gastronomy. In two words: simple and efficient. Add to that the prices, really reasonable and the service, welcoming, agreeable and efficient (maybe that part differs from what you can find in Paris, it definitely is an improvement). In short, a very nice evening, I do recommend it.
Went for dinner with my daughter and fiance. Everything was perfect, food delicious and the Chef's recommendations were very welcome. All in all a very relaxing experience during lockdown.
always lovley great place and people food really good
Great food, great chef, super friendly staff and amazing cozy little place!
Regular on friday nights... perfect place for 2 to 6
Lovely food and great service!
Good place to eat, drink and chat. I hope to go again soon
Very accommodating and delicious no nonesense food
Old favourite. Nothing fancy but full of character. X
We have celebrated anniversaries there for years..and always enjoyed ourselves. But bring back the lamb steak!
Fantastic food in a lovely location, brilliant wine selection
Great location and authentic ambience and great owner/staff. A real gem in Mayfair
Service was friendly and professional, good choice of tasty food at reasonable prices (the mussels were particularly good). Nice table by the window to watch the world go by.
Overpriced and the portions were ridiculously small. Being myself French I will not recommend this place
Loved the food, the service and the ambiance.
Warm and friendly with a great atmosphere
A good range of starters and mains, tasty pudding, good wine and digestif and very good and efficient but friendly service. Memorable for lots of good reasons. Thanks!
Loved it - apart from the fact that there were no desserts available - and no warning provided!!
An outstanding restaurant. The host was friendly and enthusiastic, matching a wine to our choices and explaining menu options. The food was excellent, and Shepherds Market was bustling. Highly recommended.
Delightful service, authentic and delicious cuisine, attractive decor, well worth a return visit.
L’Artiste Muscle is as good as ever, I have been enjoying the restaurant for nearly 40 years
I have been eating here off and on for over 40 years.......its still the same good value in a wonderful part of London with the same commitment to service and good quality food that it was always has been.
This is a cosy French bistro in the middle of Shepherds Market square so worth going to if not a foodie.
The table service was overbearing to begin with, when I arrived, before I could settle in, I was asked what I wanted to drink. When my guest arrived 5 mins late, he was also approached instantly. A bit too eager for my liking. The Escargot starter was average at best, the bread was a life saver. No butter served with the bread (maybe it is a French thing). My Beef Bourginon was very average, the meat was a bit chewy and dry, the fries saved me. My guest's Poullet was alright.
On a positive note, on a busy Tue evening, my guest and I kept on discussing 30 mins later than coffee (we didn't eat pudding) but no one from the restaurant rushed us, which I am grateful for and would give them another chance on this basis.
Cozy restaurant with good value food choices
Good selection of wines
Quality food at affordable prices
Would highly recommend for all kinds of occasions:
business lunch/dinner
solo dining
regular get together with friends
date nights
Great little french restaurant cozy and inviting with good food
I love this place, have been going for years on an infrequent basis, never fails to delight on every level; food, ambience and quaintness - the closest thing to being in Paris!
Usually have steak which is very good. We went to beef Bourguignon was semi cold and Cassoulet au Canard is better in Cote. Red wine exceptional - will go back for steak and setting at Shepherds Market
A delightful French bistro where the menu and wine list were small but very good . The food was delicious and the wine excellent . The service was friendly and quick. I would most certainly come again
Good traditional French food but not outstanding. Good value for money.
Small, but honest! Ordinary French fare, but cooked with 'amour'. Satisfying portions, good service and intimate ambiance.
