Love Larsen’s and glad they are back but they missed the mark a bit this time. It took quite a while for waiter to show up and we waited a long time for bar drinks. Dinner salads are steep at $13 a salad and our dinner was served less than 2 minutes after salad. I think we had 2 or 3 bites before main course arrived. I recognize everyone is just getting back to work and timing issues will hopefully improve. We had prime rib and it was perfectly cooked and delicious as was the loaded baked potatoes. We will continue to dine here and support this local restaurant.
My friend and I had an exceptional experience at your restaurant last night. I'm so happy with the quality experience we receive in service and food.
Our 2nd visit back and glad to have a great place to return to. Scott our Server is always such a pleasure as this was the second time we’ve come and asked for him again. Ambiance and food was good as always
Justin was great! Food was delicious!
Service was great. The meal was delicious. Enjoyed our evening out.
We were seated on time, food and drinks were brought out in a timely matter. Food was fantastic and we enjoyed our anniversary date!
Food was amazing especially the Short Ribs....fantastic service and amazing appetizers
Very good food and great service. A little pricey.
Great food and cocktails and the service is above and beyond !
The food was ok, but they charge like they're mastros and serve just ok food. The servers were nice, but we ordered oysters as an appetizer, and I decided on the lobster bisque and a half salad for my dinner. The oysters were quite good, but we had barely started them when my soup came. So it sat there getting cold. Then when I finally decided to eat my soup, there was a long pause before my husbands sandwich and my salad came. I was very clear what I was ordering for what, so there's a lack of training there. Prices are just too high for the quality.
The new stuffed chicken breast option was not as good as the original stuffed chicken breast that used to be on the menu. The new option had a South Western flavor but it was bland and the stuffing was starchy. I understand that menus need to be updated but why change a dish that is flavorful and delicious?
It was our 22nd Anniversary and the night was on point. Food was amazing as always. Hubby had steak and wild rice. I had the Macadamian crusted Sea bass. To follow with butter cake. Food was out of this world. Thanks for making it a wonderful night.
Our meals were delicious from start to finish. Kids food came out within 10 minutes of sitting down. A real “plus” when you wanna enjoy your night out and not hear nagging to start off 😅
Ahi Tartar appetizer was delicious. It was bland a few visits ago, but asking for a side of spicy Mayo and ponzu to slather onto the wonton crisps took the appetizer to the next level.
My wife got the NY Strip, delicious as usual. Cooked to perfection. Great flavor. Brussel Sprouts as her side were great. I usually get the Kurobuta Pork Chop or Prime Rib dip, never been disappointed with either. I crave them both! This time around I chose the dip and it was amazing… again.
Butter cake was brought out to us to celebrate our anniversary. A very kind gesture. Size got smaller, flavor wasn’t on par with Mastro’s, but no complaints as it was complimentary. Very sweet of them.
Lastly, service was top notch! Allen was our server and we’ll be asking for him again. Very kind, attentive and personable. As a manager walked by to make her rounds, she stopped to check on us and got us drink refills. I can’t say enough when a ‘higher up’ gets their hands dirty to help out instead of pointing their finger and making a food runner do it for them. Real people being real friendly.
This is our go to local spot for family meals, special occasions and everything in between! We love it at Larsen’s Grill and will be back again soon.
It would have been 5 stars all round except for the fact my wife had to watch graphic videos of surgical procedures,i.e. Hernia,Gastric bypass.Trying to eat while this is going on is quite unappetizing.....maybe next time they hold a surgical seminar, someone might have the inclination to put up screens or even tablecloths so the rest of us don't have to watch it while trying to eat....poor choice of seminars to hold in a restaurant......why not a closed room somewhere?
Service is excellent. Food is excellent.
Super delicious Sea Bass, so big that even a shared plate makes for more than a full meal. Newly updated interior with fantastic customer service.
The service was super slow. Ordered a special martini that was on the menu. It was a dirty martini and the waiter brought back a regular martini and asked me if I wanted olives?? I said of course because that is what is in a dirty martini. He never bright the olives. Crab cake app was soggy and very little crab. Steaks were not cooked to order and did not taste like prime. $300 later we were extremely disappointed. We won’t go back.
We all had steaks and added items. The crab cakes were wonderful. The New York steaks were ordered medium and arrived well done, luke warm and tough. Very disappointing. Our guests gratefully had better experience with the filet.
Our waiter never came back to check or bring water refills until our plates were cleared. Need to do better or I won’t be bringing clients here anymore.
The food was great. Steak cooked perfect as ordered. The price was a bit on the high side for the location/ambiance, but the food was quality. Service was solid.
After a year of Covid, I could not believe the food was that good, and the service was that top notch.
Such a nice dessert birthday surprise! Butter cake with ice cream and raspberry drizzle.
We are outside. Heat lamps a nice touch. Delicious food .
Everything is a bit more expensive, but worth it -a nice place to eat for special occasions.
Food was very good. Service by Jeff, superior. Jeff recommended the pork chop and my husband couldn't have been happier. No special occasion, but certainly a special evening!!
Food was great.
Service was slow (and, there wasn't a lot of people there). Our server was somewhat inattentive. This is the first time I have experienced this at Larsens.
This one of the higher end dinning places in Simi and we are so glad to have it.
Picked Larsen's hoping the Sunday Mother's Day Brunch had returned to the buffet since the web site didn't say differently. Instead, we were greeted by an outrageously priced fixed menu with items no better than at a Red Robin: just average eggs benedict and omelettes for $30, a nothing special burger for $20, unlimited Mimosas for $35. The buffets have always been wonderful, but we probably won't return feeling a bit deceived this time.
The restaurant is awesome the food is a bit pricey but that’s only because the dishes are amazing and cocktails are so good
5/9/2021 Mother’s Day
Food was expensive and sides were cold
It was a little disappointing to arrive and see that they had a fixed Mother’s Day brunch menu. Perhaps I overlooked it but I had not seen that on their website. And unfortunately many of the dishes contained eggs which my mother cannot eat. So she had to order crab cake eggs Benedict without eggs. the server brought it out and it was incorrect -it was filet mignon eggs Benedict. Which then required them to cook her order properly and my food got cold while waiting for them to bring hers out. The butter cake was delicious and the server was quite nice. I do think an upscale restaurant like this could’ve done a bit more to acknowledge Mother’s Day. Like perhaps offer a mother a rose or carnation or something special.
I had mothers day brunch with my family at Larsens, it was wonderful. The service was exceptional. The selections for brunch was great. It really made my day.
Truthfully this was a huge disappointment this time. I love Larsen's in general, but was completely underwhelmed with Mother's day bunch. I love the Mother's Day spread they always have.. but there was no bread and they charged a fortune for what little I got. Meh is all I can say. Disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A little pricey, but otherwise excellent.
Reserved an outdoor table and was seated at a fire place. Beautiful, but hard to enjoy a nice stake dinner on your lap. I asked to be seated at a table and was told they were all reserved for the night, I told them I was one of those reserved tables, but was moved to a small both at the bar. Not what I had planned for a nice Mother’s Day dinner for my mom, but it was delicious. I will think twice before reserving here again
We had a great experience at Larsen’s, it was our first time dining here since COVID started and we ate on the patio. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was comfortable and socially distanced.
Great food. The ribeye steak was cooked right and was juicy, tasty, and tender.
Always a very enjoyable location and meal. Can’t wait to come back.
I love to share a good steak with someone that appreciates it (my 14 year old son who has developed an amazing palate). Sat at the bar, watched the Dodger game, had an excellent time with my son. One of my favorite places to visit.
The waiters checked on us before we could take our first bite, and took the appetizer plate too soon. The Brussels sprouts were burnt to a crisp. I wasn’t given a steak knife until I asked for one after struggling to cut my tri tip with a regular knife. It wasn’t necessarily an inviting environment and the waiters and hostess wouldn’t rotate their heads in case someone like myself tried to get their attention. Th waitress’s however were quite helpful and kind, they had the type of smile and kindness you can see through their masks. Wouldn’t go back. Not recommend it.
The Filet Mignonette was a bit salty otherwise everything was excellent
We have dined several times at Larsens, pre-Covid. This was our first visit since early 2020 and it was an unhappy experience. 3 of our party ordered steaks and all 3 complained about the poor quality of the meat - tough and chewy. We’ve always had a good experience before this time. One person in our group had grilled salmon & raved about it. The service was very helpful. When we complained about our steaks, no one offered any type of accommodation. So we’ll try them again based on our good past experiences but we’re a little worried about these guys now.
