Larks celebrates Oregon: its farms, orchards, creameries and wineries offering dishes that excite and surprise with freshness and flavors.
Seated in one the semicircular booths, we had privacy but easy reach for servers. Several of us had the fried chicken, which came with a strong recommendation and found it outstanding. Service was friendly, and one Latino man extended especially gracious instinctive hospitality.
I ordered the Caesar with shrimp and the dressing was really bland. Shrimp was over cooked. Would not order it again. My first time here.
Not sure I’ll be back.
Server was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.
Salad was good. My friend had the fish tacos and enjoyed them very much!
One of the best ribeye steaks I’ve had in a long time. Very expensive.
Took our son and his 2 housemates out for a special birthday dinner. Very comfortable setting, very attentive and friendly service. Food was quite good. Charred octopus, pork shoulder, fried chicken, pasta, salads, cocktails. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Highly recommended for a special meal when in Medford.
Super friendly and accommodating staff. Halibut and meatloaf entrees excellent. Octopus appetizer was somewhat tough and rubbery, not like the first time we had it when it was tender and fabulous.
While our server genuinely tried his best, the food was very slow coming out of the kitchen, and one person in our party didn't get her order at all, until the rest of us were nearly done. It seemed expensive for not getting any sort of salad or even bread with the entree unless ordered separately for even more money.
The food was good, but the portions smaller. The fried chicken had changed to kale instead of the green beans which drew me to the menu. It wasn't as good and there were fewer mashed potatoes. The chicken was still good as ever. We weren't offered the complimentary biscuit like before. The service was outstanding with a waitress willing to please us in every way. I may not go back as the item that drew me has changed dramatically.
Wonderful servicer. Nice atmosphere. Food was descent, but portion sizes (especially for price) seemed small. In fact, after a beet salad appetizer and Halibut on black rice entree, I was still hungry. We have also been here for brunch and had a wonderful meal, but weren't as impressed for dinner.
I would recommend Larks to a friend with some reservation. Had dinner there on Valentines day. Service was polite but very slow. Our food was very slow in coming out from the kitchen. The restaurant seemed understaffed for the busy holiday night. The pork shoulder was a small portion and very fatty. All the other food was good.
The waitress seemed preoccupied and aloof. She failed to ask if we wanted drinks with our dinner. I ordered Halibut and was told there was no Tartar sauce available. The Manager however was very accommodating and finished serving us when our waitress failed to return to our table. Poor service.
Our server, Stephanie, was a delight. The table was just what we hoped. My onion soup was spectacular. We all enjoyed our meals in a quiet unhurried environment. It was a perfect celebration lunch
Thank You to Larks and to the wonderful service we received. We left a high review of our table server. She was a delight. The party was a Birthday celebration for my 94 year old mother. It was cute that the chef in the back put her candles in to read "49". We all laughed!
Thank you so much for the delightful luncheon!
Really the best service we have had in a long while! Exceptional food with exceptional service made a wonderful night out with friends. Thank you
Always a wonderful experience at Larks.
The menu selections are limited. The food and service were good but the portions were small.
Waiter was excellent. Would like more food choices. The steak was excellent.
Very disappointed in the food and service. The screw top wine was the best thing we had. The soup was colder than room temp and the meal was below average. We won’t go back.
Unfortunately, my dining experience on Christmas Eve was not as favorable as it was the last time (Mother's Day). The pork and fried chicken meals were very underseasoned, and the parsnip puree was chunky. Strangely, the meatloaf was the only dish that one of my guests enjoyed. I'm afraid I expect delicious food for these prices, and Larks missed the mark on this one.
Lark's has the best meatloaf and ribeye in town. I love their booths for a cozy conversation.
There was a large group in a back room. There were only 2 very over worked servers so us sitting in the dining room were not very will attended to. We had to ask for our water glasses to be filled, and it took a long time for our food to be served. We understood the servers problems but the lack of Larks addressing the matter was the problem.
Pretty disappointing menu.. very few options. Duck ravioli should be considered an appetizer portion. And the southern fried chicken was a joke. Tasted like a fish stick.. yes.. that bad. Our waitress was sweet and attentive... but we won’t be back that’s for sure. As for the hotel... stay far, far away!
Service was extremely slow! Irish coffee missing cream topping, cold by the time the cream arrived.
Food was good, but prices were high, salad was extra.
I always go to Lark's Medford for its ambience, its friendly staff and its value. I prefer it over Ashland's restaurant as it's more spacious and has more light and better seating. Also, great for birthdays and celebrations.
We were celebrating my birthday and we had a really nice time. Food was absolutely wonderful. Between all three of us we had cocktails, wine and coffee, all great. Appetizers were delicious, charcuterie board was absolutely great! Our main courses were above and beyond delicious, more than we could finish and presentation was beautiful. Dessert was also delicious. The atmosphere was quiet, it was a Monday so wasn't very busy. Service was excellent. We felt very relaxed and just generally had a really nice dinner.
We are 6 old friends who meet for birthdays throughout the year. Except for the early summer birthday, when we can eat at an outdoors restaurant, we choose Larks every time. Can’t wait for our January event. Thanks for good food and service.
I really enjoy this restaurant in Medford and Ashland. One of the top 10 eating establishments in Medford area.
Fantastic food at a great central location.
Had a wonderful evening with grandson and daughter and wife.
Every dish was disappointing and most was tasteless. I love the ambiance and the staff was good but the food needs drastic improvement! It tasted like a Cisco menu, but the price is like fine dining. Even the salad, which was dressed nicely, looked like it had been out all day as the greens were wilted and limp rather than fresh and lively.
The food was amazing and the ambiance is wonderful. While our server was friendly the service was slow. It took a long time to get our drinks and even longer to reorder drinks. They also took a long time to greet us at the front before we were seated. For the prices and how nice this restaurant is I expected better service.
Went with my daughter for a special mom daughter night. Average. Could have been significantly better with a more pleasant server and host. But even my 10 year old was spot on with the average food criticism. I wanted it to be better.
very good dinner but rather expensive. Great service
Went for dinner. Menu was limited and the food was very average, although the prices were high. Service however was excellent.
We had heard about Larks from a friend and quickly booked a reservation based on her review. Needless to say we were not disappointed. Truly some of the BEST food we’ve eaten (and we’ve eaten a lot of different food!) I would go back in a heartbeat, several times over.
We had the watercress/leek/apple fontina dip for an appetizer, and the fried chicken and roasted pork shoulder as our entrees. So so good!
In general the food, preparation and presentation were very good. On the Petrale special the fish was dry and suffered from the breaded coating that obliterated the delicate flavor of the fish.
Always a delight! I had a problem with the spiciness of the fish and sent it back. This was handled graciously and the problem was corrected without any fuss. Then I was impressed that when they boxed up my leftovers, they took the extra step of wrapping the food in plastic wrap so that it didn't dry out by the time I got to it, and the date was written on the carton! The food is absolutely first rate, and these extra touches make the whole experience a treat.
Sunday Brunch. All was good, except the eggs in my Eggs Benedict were severely overcooked. They were closer to hard boiled than soft poached. No delicious egg yolk to run out & mix with the hollandaise. Also, they bill it as a "Classic Benedict." It is not. Classic Eggs Benedict does NOT include spinach & tomato. I'm not objecting to those ingredients...just to the way it is advertised as "Classic." The food on everyone else's plates looked very good, & was enjoyed by all. Don't get me wrong...I enjoyed my Benedict, but it was not classic, and the eggs were overcooked. I make better at home.
I am always pleased and never disappointed at Lark's. The chef must be a creative genius--there's always something delicious and new to try, and the service is always first-rate!
We are from out of town and found LarksMedford on Open Table two years ago and really enjoyed our dinner, so when we returned this year we made a special effort to eat there again. We were not disappointedly.
