We enjoyed our dinner and our food was good. The loaded baked potatoe was not that great but everything else we ordered was delicious. Love the view and the service was very good.
The food was phenomenal. Very romantic.
We had a great experience celebrating my son 's 24th birthday. Our waiter, Brian, was both hilarious and attentive! The filet mignon is excellent.
Excellent experience. We will definitely return.
What a wonderful night. It was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Food was delicious and service was absolutely on point. Overall this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in Greenville. Thank you Bryan for the great hospitality
Outstanding service. Exceptional wine and port selection. Served in right glass, at right temperature, etc, etc, and all around top labels/vintages. King crab legs are best that I have had. Apple tart that was better than Mom’s - saying a lot as I grew up in Apple country, Washington. Thank you to the master chef, service team and all. Wonderful dining experience for our group.
We had a delightful dinner at LARKIN’s. E service was extraordinary. The food was excellent, particularly the Rack of Lamb. The Oysters Rockefellow was as good as I have had anywhere. Try the table side Caesar salad for a special treat.
The service, ambiance was outstanding. However I would not refer to this place as a GREAT steakhouse. Maybe I should have gone with the seafood.
Just because a restaurant is in a lovely location, the prices are high, and the atmosphere kind of seems fancy does not mean the food is actually any good. The she crab soup was gloppy and thick, the salad was painfully over-dressed, and the dessert trio was probably the worst three desserts I've had in my life (the gluey cheesecake taking the award for most unpleasant). Not to mention the cocktails, with supposedly homemade sour mix, which clearly came straight from the gun. Awful. Please eat elsewhere, diners of Greenville.
Food was amazing and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I only wish the steaks came with at least one side for the price you pay. My steak was cooked to perfection with a great crust and perfect seasonings.
Food is always very good - never a complaint there. The service was lacking this trip and I can't put my finger on why. It was a Sunday crowd, nice weather...and the service was terrible. It was 15 minutes before a server approached our table, and they forgot the same item ordered not once, but twice. I will go back, but service has got to improve.
We came into Greenville to have a special lunch with our grandson. We wanted to be sure and reward him with a great steak. The steak was less than we had expected since we read that it was supposed to be top grade. The crab soup was very gooey. My salmon was cooked till it was hard and tasteless over an arugula salad that was clumped together in so much dressing that had no flavor. So this was picked over to at least have some lunch. We were trying to have a good conversation to catch up so we did not want to spend the afternoon complaining. The service was as bad as the food......non existent.
Just a beautiful restaurant with great food and service that goes above what you can usually expect in Greenville. Oysters were the best I've had in Greenville and the steak was excellent. Love this place.
The food was delicious; the Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection. Excellent service. Romantic setting. Exactly what I had hoped for as I was celebrating my birthday! I can't wait to go again once it's warmer so that we can enjoy the river view.
Great service and food; the pace of food was just right and we were able to linger over coffee. It was a great evening with firends.
Perfect meal in a beautiful old building set in the banks of the Reedy River. Food and service were outstanding!
I would first like to state that this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Greenville. The evening started off on a wrong foot when we arrived where the valet stand was formerly to find the road closed and the stand had moved. This would have been useful info for the restaurant to relay when they called to confirm our reservation earlier that afternoon.
The food: As a table of 4 we ordered fried oysters, Caesar salads, steaks, Parmesan truffle fries, mac & cheese, and Brussels sprout hash. The oysters were lukewarm at best and the breading was average. The salad was one of the worst I've ever had and very disappointed given it is their "signature". The steaks: one was cooked perfectly (but not split for the two ladies despite paying a $5 split fee), the 2nd was supposed to be med rare and came out Pittsburgh sear, the 3rd was also supposed to be med rare and came out med well (this steak was sent back took nearly 15 minutes to come back Pittsburgh sear and very mediocre at best). The mac & cheese was as hard and dry as a hockey puck and the brussels were mediocre.
The service: Our waiter albeit very pleasant was very young and had little experience. He seemed to be running back and forth without achieving much success (I also blame the restaurant for overloading his plate with too many tables). Our oyster plate sat on the table until after we finished our salads (we had to ask him to clear our plates, we poured our own wine, we had to ask for more water, more olive oil, etc.). I also learned that any restaurant serving "table side" salad by the waiter has no concept of timing and presentation. Our waiter only brought out one portion of Caesar which was hardly enough for the 4 people not to mention it was very avg.
To round out the entire experience we waited nearly 25 minutes for the valet to bring our car and the attendants appeared to be stoned out of their mind. Likely will never be back to what was once my favorite restaurant in Greenville.
Our Server Neena was exceptional at her job. Neena is very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and willing to make the dinning experience a great one, she is a gem.
My girlfriend and I went here for a date on a Friday night. We made a reservation and when we arrived, we were seated promptly. The drinks were great. We got the seafood tower and it was worth it! The seafood tasted fresh and was delicious. Great prix fixe menu options! I would definitely go back!
Excellent experience this year. We decided to give it another try after one very bad experience last year with both the food and our waiter. Glad we gave it another try.
We had a very nice meal before going to the Peace Center. We were seated at our reservation time and our food was brought to us in a very timely manner. I do feel that they should have some less expensive choices for wine by the glass.
What a wonderful restaurant for an elegant meal prior to the Peace Center show.
Our server Nina was outstanding. My wife enjoys a hot and dirty martini and the bartender was able to even kick that up a notch! The food was great and Nina’s recommendation were on point. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the salmon was succulent. Bravo. We will be back
Excellent venue. Great food. Good service.
This was our first time dining at Larkins on the river . We were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Even though we were early our table was ready and we were seated immediately. The hostess handed us a envelope upon seating us which read Happy Anniversary. Upon opening the envelope we found a card which was hand written congratulating us on our anniversary and thanking us for choosing larkins to dine at. The waiter was exceptional. I have a Gluten allergy, and he made sure I wouldn't have to worry about anything. He brought out not only bread for my wife but a basket of Gluten free bread for myself. The menu had so many items that were gluten free it was difficult to choose what to order. This is a rare occasion for that to happen. We ordered the filet mignon and have never tasted a finer cut of meat. It was cooked to perfection. Long story short we ate and had some wine and enjoyed our dining experience. If you ever get the chance to dine there please don't pass up the opportunity to have one of the finest meals you will find. Thank you Larkins on the river, you made our night feel extra special. We cannot wait to go back.
Great for celebrating/surprising my Dad for his birthday! Food was great, service was attentive but not over the top, will definitely be returning!
Food was great! Service was good, our waitress Shanon was great, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection and thanks to her charm, my wife totally enjoyed the dinner.
Wonderful food and drinks
As always, outstanding food, great service, and an overall wonderful evening.
Table was ready quickly, staff was awesome, wine was outstanding and the food was incredible! Will be back many more times!
From the cocktail to dessert, it was excellent. The service was great and the atmosphere was great for a date night.
Had one of the best filet mignons ever! Good for special occasions as extremely pricey!!
We had a lovely booth. The waitress, Serenity, was attentive and knowledgeable but she did not hover. Our food arrived quickly but it was hot and delicious. We really enjoyed our lunch.
The restaurant is such a great old building with brick walls that are exposed. Just to think of the history that occurred here so many years ago made the ambiance even more attractive. All the staff greeted us and were so friendly. Such a warm feeling envelopes the diner.
We had the Short Rib Poutine appetizer, which was amazing!! Filet was wonderful as usual.
Service and food excellent
Wonderful food. The French Onion Soup is the best in Greenville.
This is our second time ding at Larkins and we have enjoyed it both times.
Absolutely fabulous place! Just love it! Always great and the perfect date night restaurant!
Food really good but service very very slow. Poor girl had way to much to do
I really enjoyed it here. Everything about it was amazing the food, which I ordered the steak and veggies. It was juicy and tasteful and topped it off with some cocktails. Which were just lovely. The calm atmosphere and I can’t forget to mention the lovely waitress we had very friendly. I would definitely be going again.
