This was our first time dining at Larkins on the river . We were celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary. Even though we were early our table was ready and we were seated immediately. The hostess handed us a envelope upon seating us which read Happy Anniversary. Upon opening the envelope we found a card which was hand written congratulating us on our anniversary and thanking us for choosing larkins to dine at. The waiter was exceptional. I have a Gluten allergy, and he made sure I wouldn't have to worry about anything. He brought out not only bread for my wife but a basket of Gluten free bread for myself. The menu had so many items that were gluten free it was difficult to choose what to order. This is a rare occasion for that to happen. We ordered the filet mignon and have never tasted a finer cut of meat. It was cooked to perfection. Long story short we ate and had some wine and enjoyed our dining experience. If you ever get the chance to dine there please don't pass up the opportunity to have one of the finest meals you will find. Thank you Larkins on the river, you made our night feel extra special. We cannot wait to go back.

We had a lovely booth. The waitress, Serenity, was attentive and knowledgeable but she did not hover. Our food arrived quickly but it was hot and delicious. We really enjoyed our lunch.
The restaurant is such a great old building with brick walls that are exposed. Just to think of the history that occurred here so many years ago made the ambiance even more attractive. All the staff greeted us and were so friendly. Such a warm feeling envelopes the diner.

I really enjoyed it here. Everything about it was amazing the food, which I ordered the steak and veggies. It was juicy and tasteful and topped it off with some cocktails. Which were just lovely. The calm atmosphere and I can’t forget to mention the lovely waitress we had very friendly. I would definitely be going again.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch date at Larkin's on the River. The atmosphere was wonderful, relaxed, and we were not rushed. We were able to just enjoy some time together. Our waitress was wonderful and the food was outstanding. We certainly will return and recommend Larkin's on the River to our friends.

Once again, we had a wonderful experience at Larkins.
We requested a quiet location since both of us are a bit hearing impaired. The table we had met our needs very well. It was quiet, secluded, and just a nice location inside the restaurant.
The food was fantastic. Nice selection. Service was very good... not intrusive, but attentive when we needed assistance.
We will return.

Usually a reliable choice for lunch. They should not take lunch reservations via open table for the hours that they are only serving the limited bar menu. We would have made another choice had we known. My husband enjoyed the burger, but the short rib sliders were beyond dried out- the meat was crispy and devoid of any moisture. I should have sent them back, but I didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes for something else. Service was ok except he gave us sweet potato fries instead of the truffle fries that we ordered. He did offer a good wine pairing, which we appreciated. Larkin’s is usually better than this.

Service was very prompt. The outdoor patio ambience was very nice and relaxing. All of the food was fantastic, except for the steak. My wife and I ordered the Filet. It was very bland. Seemed like it wasn’t even seasoned at all. Everything else (soups, side dishes, cocktails) was delicious.

Sat down to a water glass that had a large piece of fuzz in it that looked like a spider. My partner requested the steak to be well done, and even emphasized that it couldn't have any pink. Steak arrived medium rare. The wait staff was appropriately apologetic and took care of it for us, but that meant we had to eat separately because my meal had already arrived and the steak took another 10 minutes to cook properly. I asked the waitress if the portobello sandwich included anything not listed on the menu (I specifically asked about onions because I despise them) and was told it did not. Well, the sandwich arrived with onions, lettuce, and tomato that were not listed on the menu. The food was good, but for the price, it should have been better.

Very inconsistent service when visiting this restaurant, this time was one of the worst. Food was not served all at same time and lamb was undercooked.
Patio seating was OK since inside dining was sold out last minute; not that busy, but server & supervisor were not attentive to their duties. Given the price point it was not a great value. Would have to think twice before choosing Larkins again versus other options in town.

Enjoyed the restaurant. Food was cooked well and was well presented but the chef has loss control on sauces. They clearly believe that more is better. I believe less is better. A truly great sauce needs only a couple of tablespoons to produce a great result. Larkins drowns everything in overpowering sauces. It’s really too bad as their food would be 5 star level with just a bit less drowning.

We have visited Larkin's on an anniversary every Feb 3 for eight years. This year the service was slow and inconsistent with several servers rotating through. We had to ask for utensils when courses came without them, my wife's coq au vin was tough and chewy and the work crew was removing and rearranging tables before we left from our 8PM arrangement. The management heard our complaints and adjusted the check but overall this was a serious degradation in service after years of really looking forward to our Feb 3 dinner at Larkins. We understand that the dining scene in Greenville is under stress with a booming economic climate and a shortage of staff on occasions. However Larkins' emphasis on expansion, now listing a number of establishments, seems to have resulted in severe limitations in this core dining location. Pluses: the fish special was very good. The valet parkers, isolated up on Main St, were attentive and retrieved our car quickly on this cold night. However, next Feb 3, I expect we will seek another location for this anniversary.

I love Larkin’s. It’s one of my favorites in Greenville BUT...
We have had the waiter we had for the second time in a row. Food was delicious as always but server appeared to be preoccupied and was very inattentive both visits. Had to track him down for the check to get to theater in time. I left a good tip anyhow but probably shouldn’t have. It won’t deter me from going back but if I end up with this waiter again, I will ask to be moved.

Was excellent in first part of 2017. Was disappointed in February, 2018. Food lukewarm. Meals not served together for table of 8. Missing some parts of order. Mixed up orders. Food not cooked as requested. Cold inside restaurant. May not go back.

Our service was very slow, didn’t really affect our experience, we were in no hurry. We were a table of 4 and one of us had to actually get out of their chair and move it so the Caesar salad cart could get by. One of our dinners had to go back to the kitchen, ordered medium, got very rare. A new plate was delivered, was still not medium but did not get sent back again. The manager came over to check on us but the meal was not comped, as I believe it should have been. Our table was near the kitchen entrance and the back door, extremely cold every time the back door opened. All in all it was not up to the Larkin dining experience we have had in the past.
