Larkin's on the River
Larkin’s on the River at the Peace Center is situated in the heart of downtown Greenville, along the banks of the Reedy River, in the old Gower Coach Factory. This is the only building remaining of the original eleven dating back to Civil War. With beautiful preserved exposed brick walls and open ceilings, the history of the building serves as the perfect backdrop to the modern and hip atmosphere Larkin’s on the River offers.
Jumbo lump crab, roasted corn and pepper relish, old bay popcorn, remoulade
Me and my girlfriend both enjoyed our first time there and will most definitely be back. Food and customer service were both amazing. Made her birthday feel very special and I appreciate that the most.
Terrific afternoon luncheon! We always recommend Larkins for quality food and a lovely experience.
30th Anniversary... Everything and everyone was perfect! Thank you for making out first trip to your gorgeous city a night to remember. We will be back... without our 🐕.
A wonderful experience on a beautiful night. Everything was perfect
We received an email about Larkins opening up for lunch. We were so glad we decided to join them. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was perfectly prepared and the sauce was most delicious. We will be back soon!!
The food was great as was the atmosphere and the service. We sat outside.
It was my birthday, my kids drove down, to SC. So I wanted a nice place, in Greenville. When we arrived our table was waiting, a birthday card from the staff was on the table. Our wonderful waitress was Serenity, she was very friendly and accommodating. Wife and kids had the Steak au Poivre , medium rare, I had the Salmon, we also had a side of lobster Mac and cheese. They offered a champagne cocktail for my birthday. We had espresso and a ice cream dessert. Food was excellent, came out the way we ordered. Great atmosphere, beautiful place, wife and I have been here several times and will be back in the future.
I had the pork chop. It was cooked as I requested and was delicious. The grits didn't seem fresh, but tge collard greens were amazing...the star of the plate! My friends enjoyed their experience at Larkins as well.
Deviled eggs are pricey for $15 get 3 half eggs?! Shrimp cocktail presentation a bit elementary. But the watermelon margarita house made and created by the bartender is a must!
everything was great! food was delicious. nice atmosphere and broad menu. there was one minor hiccup which they quickly corrected, and first interaction with the server was slightly delayed for little longer than normal, but nothing major whatsoever. people are human and minor mistakes happen. nothing egregious. overall everything was great and would definitely recommend!
We’re traveling & spending a couple days in Greenville. We’ve eaten at Larkin’s on a past trip & liked it. I also wanted a place w good outside dining, as due to Covid, I don’t want to eat inside. I’m disappointed that most people in SC aren’t wearing masks. We’re returning from a trip to Colorado, where most people were wearing masks. In Frisco, Colorado, they had painted signs on sidewalks all over town saying “Please Mask Up”. People in Greenville & SC in general could a lesson from Frisco, Colorado!
Food was great, drink pours were meager at best and not worth the cost
Great service, Guillermo was awesome!
My guest and I had a wonderful evening, David the manager paid a special attention to our needs and seated us in a comfortable private area as I requested, would love to dine there again would recommend it to my friends and family.
Strip was uneatable . Tons of salt
The service from our waitress Serenity was absolutely excellent. Could not have asked for more. Food was not up to my expectations, considering the price structure. Was OK, but not in relation to the high price. Would expect a $40 steak to be exceptional, not just normal and the cost of the side items was way out of line. $9 for Asparagus?
An excellent dining experience!
Food and service was excellent. Overall recommend and will be returning
Our server was fantastic. Described all evening specials perfectly. Food was delicious and did not feel rushed. I have to say being forced to wear a mask outside to walk 3 feet to your table to then remove it is quite comical. We will be back!!
Food was so good and service was amazing. A favorite place in Greenville.
Celebrated our anniversary and Michael made it super special. Recommended the perfect wine, brought us some champaign to celebrate, and service was spot on. Everything about the night was great & we owe it all to Michael!
It was a very nice night, as soon as we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by name and told happy anniversadry. Larkin had left a happy Anniversary card on our table and our waiter was very profecional. Complimentary champaine glasses and cake at the end of dinner. We had a great night and we recomend it for a special occation.
The staff was very attentive to the meal as well as the environment
This was an ideal location to dine safely outdoors and enjoy the ambience of the riverfront. We brought guests who were thoroughly impressed with the dinner.
I hate the forced review witch I am giving a zero too. We have gone to Larkins for 20 years and it has always been fantastic
Excellent service from beginning to end. Delicious food with decent portions. Drinks were great, as well!
We thoroughly enjoyed dinner on the patio with the scenic Reedy River and buildings. A unique setting. Service was very good and meals were delicious. Larkins is truly a special dining experience. It definitely lived up to and surpassed our expectations. Doing a great job with being safe during Covid.
Amazing experience. Food was fantastic. The service even better - the attention, the follow up, the knowledge, the recommendations, the politeness, ...everything!
Very nice dinner. Service was wonderful, good wine selection, food was lovely and well prepared. Restaurant had appropriate precautions in place for dealing with COVID.
We had a good time while there and the food was very good.
Great food and fabulous service. Will definitely be going again.
The Wine event was a lovely experience outsid
Grest food and atmosphere but wine tasting not really very good.
Our dinner at Larkin's was a wonderful treat after being cooped up for so much of the summer. As we were celebrating my husband's birthday it was a festive occasion with champagne and dessert. My shrimp and grits was to die for and my husband hasn't quit raving about the broiled salmon he had. The special salad of the evening was a delightful change from usual salad greens. I would have liked to try the other special selection too, but next time! Our server was knowledgeable and amiable and did not let us lack for attention. We always enjoy our diners at Larkin's.
Everything was great, except medium rare steaks came out medium well. Server didn't offer to replace them even after we pointed it out and he agreed they were overcooked.
I came to celebrate my birthday and it was my first time dining here. The food was amazinggg once we actually got it. We waited for drinks for almost 30 mins or longer, an hour and 15mins had passed before we received any bread or appetizers. My biggest concern was definitely the wait time, I had never experienced anything like it. However, once the food arrived it definitely made up for it a little.
As usual, the food was extremely good and what we have come to expect there. It was unusually quiet and not very busy, but they were very diligent with following safety guidelines and we felt very comfortable eating there. We enjoyed our early dinner very much!
What’s going on Larkin’s? We had a business dinner with couples Saturday night. Service was very slow. Had to ask for silverware, more water, salt and pepper. It took forever to get our drinks from the bar. The restaurant wasn’t even full at 50% capacity and the bar was empty, so not quite sure what the issue was. Crab cake order came with a sprinkling of stale popcorn? Salads looked pretty lackluster. Everything was off. Not the Larkin’s we were expecting. The food and service definitely did not reflect the size of the bill. Pretty disappointing.
Our waitress, Serenity, was wonderful.
We had a couple of our friends visiting from out of town and we sat on the patio. Everything was amazing from the service to the food! Such a nice evening.
