Larkin's on the River
Larkin’s on the River at the Peace Center is situated in the heart of downtown Greenville, along the banks of the Reedy River, in the old Gower Coach Factory. This is the only building remaining of the original eleven dating back to Civil War. With beautiful preserved exposed brick walls and open ceilings, the history of the building serves as the perfect backdrop to the modern and hip atmosphere Larkin’s on the River offers.

Great Customer Service, Great Food, as well as Great atmosphere.
The RSVP process using Open Table worked well. The seating location was adequate. The service was adequate. The drinks were as expected, very good. The house salad was disappointing, very simple and not very tasty. My filet mignon was cooked as directed, but was extremely marbled for a 7 oz. cut. Disappointing. My wife’s fillet mignon was suitable for her. The other four in our party were disappointed compared to what we get at Hall’s Chophouse. Nice try, Larkin’s, but you failed to meet my expectations for a $500+ tab. Maybe next time.
We had a great experience!
Mother’s Day dinner - food and service was excellent !!
Mothers Day dinner.
Food ok except for daughter’s steak had string left in it and son’s steak was not correct (sent back twice) until everyone else had finished dinner. They did remove son’s steak from bill. Really spoiled a special occasion meal. Too many other choices for us to come back.
My 1st experience was Awesome and so was our Waiter!!! He was very knowledgeable! Will be returning
Larkin's was quite busy on Mother's Day 2021, with graduations and proms on the same weekend! Early dinner reservations led to a packed restaurant and the Service Staff were outstanding. Kitchen was very slow in getting food out, but the ambiance and Service Staff made sure to keep the drinks full and ensured we were up to date on the status of our food. Once food was delivered, it was outstanding and portions were excellent. Parking is always difficult for Larkin's, but local parking garages are fairly close and inexpensive.
We came here to celebrate my daughter's graduation. We were the last table set for the evening. It was wonderful. They did not rush us one bit. The food was delicious.
My girlfriend, and I, just got engaged just before dinner this weekend in Greenville, and we had reservations at Larkin's on the River. Larkin's Staff was great and very accommodating! They upgraded our table to an outside table even though I was unable to get that reservation on the Open Table website. They also gave us a complimentary champagne toast and desert. The steaks, sherry mushrooms, and maple glazed brussels sprouts were excellent. Overall, it was an outstanding experience. Thanks Larkin's!
Always pleased with dinning at Larkin's. Food was excellent!
This was our first time at Larkin’s and it was just okay to me. We had reservations but still had to wait for our table a few minutes due to several celebratory events that day, Clemson & Furman graduation, Artisphere, etc., but they got is seated as quickly as possible. They didn’t have the biggest variety of menu items, but overall pretty good.
My host was rude after she messed up our order. Food took an hour to arrive
Always a fantastic experience at Larkins!! We always try to make a point to eat at larkins when we visit Greenville!
Larkins was one of the few fine dining experiences in Greenville that is worth the price.
My daughters college graduation
The service and the food were exceptional! Our server did a fantastic job!
The food was great and the service was exceptional. Will definitely go back again.
Daughters college graduation.
The food was amazing and the service was above par. I highly recommend.
This is nothing Larkins can control however the band playing in the amphitheater made it REALLY difficult to have a conversation at the table
Excellent service from the moment we arrived. Our waitress was awesome. She acted like we were her only table, but she had multiple tables, including one with 10 people. The food was cooked to our request and each course came to us at the appropriate time. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend Larkins.
My impression is that one should get a steak if that is the signature entree. My chicken was very dry and veggies so-so.
My wife and I went to Larkin's for our 35th wedding anniversary. We had been to Larkins a couple years ago and had a good experience. I ordered the Steak Au Poivre and it was awful. It was probably the toughest steak I've ever had. I couldn't believe it since Larkin's is basically a steak house. Btw, when the food was delivered to the table, there was no steak knife so I asked the guy to bring me a steak knife and he said ok. Well, we waited and waited while my food was getting cold but no steak knife. I finally had to flag down a waiter from another table and he brought me a knife. I wrote an email to the restaurant but didn't get a response. I also tried to call them a few times but the phone was always busy as if someone left the phone off the hook.
This is the second time my husband and I have eaten at Larkins. This time we came for my husbands birthday. We sat in the bar area and we had Mike from the bar serve us. The service is terrific! Food is fantastic. Everyone is friendly. The atmosphere is great with a beautiful view on the River. We will definitely be back again! A favorite for us!
We're so glad you enjoyed your dining experience! Thank you so much for the very kind remarks. We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Fantastic food and exceptional service - and a picture perfect setting.
The food was very good and the server was exceptional...
It was a great experience. I can’t wait to go back!
I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday with reservations here and I must say they did not disappoint! The portions were quite big for a restaurant of this stature, which was a pleasant surprise. The food was amazing and the views were so nice.
Excellent for someone with food allergies.
Had a birthday dinner with my wife which was fantastic food was excellent and the service and hospitality displayed by Bruce and his team are very welcome
Food was outstanding. We had oysters Rockefeller for appetizers and then we had grilled scallops. Both items were excellent. Service was very good and waiter was very helpful and professional
I was there celebrating my birthday with 3 other adults and baby. I ordered the Steak Au Poivre and it was very tough. My guests ordered the rack of lamb, it was succulent; the ribeye was divine!
However. the manager took care of me by removing the cost of my meal from our bill. I did not want a replacement meal. I give one chance to get my meal correct upon ordering. I don't trust repeats. My guest shared their meals with me and the evening turned out just fine.
I would recommend Larkin on the River for the experience of the ambience. Even though my steak was not good, they have great food offerings. I would go back, but I will order something totally different and hope it would be prepared according to my expectations.
Just want to mention, the Vanilla Creme Brulee is outstanding!
We love the outside dining experience at Larkin's. Service is pleasant, not pushy or overbearing. The menu is variety is very good with accurate descriptions. Food presentation upscale, tasty, and service at nicely. We have never had a bad experience at Larkin's. Management is professional and engaging. It was a special occasion for our family from NC. Just the four of us in a great setting. A much better dining experience than across the riverwalk where people are paying high dollar prices under an umbrella. We recommend Larkin's over the rest.
Very welcoming staff. Attentive service. Delicious food, well presented.
Normally, we have had wonderful experiences here. Cuisine, wine, service excellent etc all very very good. Monday night not so good. Normally they are a little slow on Monday but not this pat one. Very nice booth - were out of the wine we ordered, offered a slightly better choice at the lower price - nice gesture - cork problem - took awhile to remedy - but ok. Caesar salad (half) very fresh romaine croutons and parm - next to no dressing. My filet perfect , wife’s cold. Oh - bread served after salad was almost consumed. Off night - not like them. - will go back but they have to be better prepared_ the crowds are coming. 😊
What a great spot ! We were in Roanoke and picked Billy's at random. It was a 3 minute walk from our hotel. The food was all delicious, and our server was so friendly and welcoming!
Highly recommend Billy's
