Larkin's on the River
Larkin’s on the River at the Peace Center is situated in the heart of downtown Greenville, along the banks of the Reedy River, in the old Gower Coach Factory. This is the only building remaining of the original eleven dating back to Civil War. With beautiful preserved exposed brick walls and open ceilings, the history of the building serves as the perfect backdrop to the modern and hip atmosphere Larkin’s on the River offers.

The Food and Service at Larkins was outstanding. I had a steak and twice baked potato both were cooked perfectly and delicious. the host was great and my waiter was the best. I overall had an enjoyable experience and would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Our first visit was amazing. We loved having Anna as a server. The featured wine was excellent. The food was fantastic. And dessert...OMG. Loved loved loved. Can’t wait to come back on my Birthday.
I liked everything. I love your tuna, but it just didn't seem to be as good this visit as I have experienced in the past.
Great ambiance, cuisine was perfectly prepared, great wine list and simply perfect service - loved it.
We had a 6:00 reservation as we were going to a concert at the Peace Center at 7:30. Our server asked us immediately if we were seeing a show so she could watch our time. We ordered drinks and when the drinks arrived we immediately placed our order for dinner around 6:10 - we were constantly reassured by our server that we had ample time. 6:45 no dinner. 7:00 the server came out with the manager assuring us that our food was on the way out. 7:20 - no food and we had to leave. They brought a bag of food - all seafood - to the door and said we could take it with us. Who wants to take fish to a concert and who wants cold fish afterwards. We were charged full price for 4 meals we never received with no apology. Please share this with other customers at this restaurant in Greenville sc
The food was delicious but we were disappointed that they no longer have the signature three-course meal.
Our waiter Steve was excellent. Food was amazing! Service terrific! I have celiac and they were very accommodating to my dietary needs. One of the best meals out I’ve had in a very long time and I didn’t get sick from being glutenized!
Our meal was absolutely phenomenal. To start, we had the clemson bleu cheese salads which were to die for. They were huge portions and worth the price. We also got bacon wrapped scallops which were delicious even though I’m not a fan of seafood! We got the pork chop with grits and collards, creamed spinach and baked tomatoes, and two filet mignon. Every protein was cooked perfectly and we enjoyed every bite! Our server, Anna, was so professional, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu. Next time I go to Larkin’s, I’ll definitely be asking for Anna as my server again!
We celebrated my birthday here. Our party was driving in from out of town, and the restaurant happily accommodated those that arrived early with a table on the patio for drinks. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. The service was excellent. They even let us bring in our own cake to celebrate! I couldn’t have asked for a better dinner.
Food took a long time. It wasn’t crowded either. Food wasn’t as good as I had hoped considering their prices.
Wonderful food for our anniversary!
We have been to Larkin's on the River twice in the past couple months, and the service and food were excellent both times. The staff is very attentive and friendly, actually taking moment to talk with you and make recommendations. Their deviled eggs and steak skewer appetizers were excellent as was the massive pork chop and Chilean Sea Bass. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and even when it is full, it is not too loud.
Fantastic everything! Food was amazing, great service, great drinks. I’ll be back!
Our steaks were wayyyyy overcooked. Really surprised. Typically Larkins is very good!
Excellent food and our server, Nina, was outstanding!!
Thank you a wonderful evening and birthday dinner for my wife; our waitress was the epitome of service perfection: knowledgeable about the menu, helpful with selections, and very, very pleasant.
Excellent meal and service!!!! Perfect location for a business dinner.
We were there at 6:15 for our dinner, and did not get our food until 7:25...we had to hurry to eat and check out for an 8:00 symphony. Many who came in after us
were served long before us. We were a table of two women. Our server was working for the larger groups. Our table was freezing cold. We won't be back for a long time.
Upon entering we were made to feel special. The young woman who took care of us was nothing short of excellent. She made our evening at Larkins.
We were moved outside from our reserved table inside due to “out of control” guests at a nearby table.Manager was very professional with reseating us. It was chilly on the patio, food, this night, was not great. We will come again but our experience this time was not up to Larkin’s normal high standard.
Always amazing, my favorite restaurant in Greenville
Neena is the best! Amazing Caesar salad, and perfect tequila shots to celebrate a special occasion
We enjoyed a wonderful anniversary dinner. Food and service were fantastic. Can't wait to go back.
We had a great dining experience at Larkins. The food was great, and so was the service. In particular, our server Ashley was incredible. She was very attentive, friendly, and provided great recommendations.
I would normally always recommend Larkins but this Sunday, Oct27, I ordered the 6oz filet mignon. It was the driest steak I’ve ever had! 😞 Outback steakhouse and long horn steakhouse have never served me this quality of steak. I’m sad bc I love Larkins... I don’t think I’ll go again. For the amount of money we paid at Larkins it was such a staggering letdown!
Overall, just ok. The truffle fries would be a reason to return. We had the half chicken and filet. Chicken was great, steak was mediocre. Service was nothing special, our water was never refilled. The restaurant was not full, and thankfully not loud. Ladies, be careful in high heels. The floor is VERY slick.
It was very good but waiter seemed a bit rushed. No mention of our Anniversary.
Loved the atmosphere and location. Food was bland and not very flavorful. The steak while a very good cut of meat cooked perfectly had no flavor to it at all. The bacon Mac and cheese was a let down and the Brussels sprouts had a vinegar taste to it. Best part was the she crab soup. Waiter was ok kept disappearing. Didn’t acknowledge our anniversary but did for the table right beside us. We went to Larkin’s instead of Ruth Chris which is were we always go for our anniversary and we’re we will go from now on.
Rack of wild boar was unique and quite good. Drinks are reasonably priced. Nice selection of wines by the glass.
The food was absolutely amazing but the one thing that needs improvement is the service and the attentiveness of the server.
From the location behind the Peace Center in downtown Greenville, to the ambiance, to the service, and the food, Larkins hit all the marks. The only hiccup was that the bar was out of Buffalo Trace.
Overall, great job by the chef and staff!
Birthday celebration with friends in a comfortable setting. Courses were brought out in a manner that allowed the meal to be enjoyed without feeling rushed. Birthday wishes from by the staff along with a card were nice touches.
Very nice place. Sat on the outdoor patio overlooking the waterfall. Ambiance was great. There with 4 co-workers after a long day. Food was incredible as were the drinks. We all had desserts that were wonderful.
Great place, frienly and efficient service, excellent food
Great time and food!!!
The food was amazing! The kitchen was a little backed up and for wait she served us some amazing fries!!
We sat outside and were very cold (despite their few heaters), had rain dripping off the roof onto us, and wind blowing/drafting onto our legs from under their plastic "walls"...they moved us first time, but we ended up wet again and just moved our own table over a bit. It was not a pleasant night with regards to where we were seated. Additionally, the waiter was not very attentive and we think it's because he had most of his tables inside...there were very few being served outside. It was a meal that we found ourselves rushing through just so we could get out of their space. Unfortunate, as the food was, in truth, excellent. We found Larkin's to be a bit pricey for what you get.....ala carte husband's steak was well cooked, but we have made better on our Big Green Egg at home....and it shouldn't cost 50.25 - for a NY Strip steak and a side of mashed potatoes. Bottom line, expect good food but at a high price and ask to sit inside.
Great place to unwind and enjoy an anniversary dinner
