Larkin's on the River
Larkin’s on the River at the Peace Center is situated in the heart of downtown Greenville, along the banks of the Reedy River, in the old Gower Coach Factory. This is the only building remaining of the original eleven dating back to Civil War. With beautiful preserved exposed brick walls and open ceilings, the history of the building serves as the perfect backdrop to the modern and hip atmosphere Larkin’s on the River offers.

Chilean Sea Bass
Shrimp sofrito, onions, bell peppers, applewood smoked bacon, spinach
Everything about it was awesome!
Went for brunch. Food was absolutely terrible. Had one bite of my chicken & waffles and they were flavorless. She crab soup had good flavor, but was so congealed that you can only assume it was out of a can or made days prior. Our server was very sweet, but service was so incredibly, painfully slow. Was complete bummer and not worth our time or money.
Great dinner! Had the Chilean sea bass with a side of sherry mushrooms. Delicious! My wife had a filet with a side of masked potatoes. Overall, great meal! We sat outside and enjoyed the river view. Also, a good spot to people watch.
Delicious. Service was fantastic.
Excellent food and service
My husband picked Larkins to have dinner on his birthday, the meal was outstanding! They gave us a complimentary glass of champagne and dessert. The meal was just delicious from our appetizer to finishing with a sweet treat. I don’t remember our waiters name but he was was top notch.
If you haven’t visited the restaurant while in beautiful downtown Greenville, check it out!
Food was delicious and our waiter Brian was superb. Customers should not show up here in baseball caps!! Very inappropriate and rude!!
First time at Larkin’s. Very accommodating when we were running late for reservation. Speciality cocktails and food were fantastic! Server did a great job as well. Only issues was that our She Crab soup was barely lukewarm. Waited a long time for redo. They ended up making a whole new batch! And same issue with mac ‘n chz. Barely warm. Server ended up taking both items off bill. Very nice gesture. Overall great exp! We will be back!
Almost every meal came out less then hot. Potato would not even melt the butter. Kids max n cheese cold.
Baked potatoes were a little cool and not done but food was delicious
the chilean sea bass was very good as was the very thick she crab soup
Waiter spilled food on us. Forgot to bring our salads and soups until after dinner was served.
We chose Larkin's for our 44th wedding anniversary. The food was great and the service acceptable, though not exceptional.
Ate at Larkin's on our last night in Greenville. Compared to other restaurants in the area, Larkin's service, food and atmosphere were mediocre.
Use to love this place but last time we went we had some issues but chalked it up to just an off night. Last night we went before the America concert at the Peace Center. Well we were greeted great, sat great, and and attended to by the staff great. Then we ordered. My wife wanted (as was looking forward to) the Salmon Wellington. "Oh we don't have that"-a high end restaurant would always tell you up front what was not available (but must would have everything available). Move on from that and I ordered the ribeye, spinach, and loaded baked potato. Can't wait... well that was a bad statement. Had to really wait and flag down some people to get a knife to cut it. But I had time while the soup my wife ordered was being re-heated in the kitchen. Do't want to chalk it up to another off night.
Great service! Great food! Beautiful view!!!!!!!!!
Pork chop was tough… Sea Bass was great…
Outstanding filet for my wife and sea bass for me. Excellent service from door to bill.
The only knock I could give them is that it was too warm inside. Even though our server was new she did a wonderful job taking care of our every need. The food was very good also.
Food was perfect, Server super professional and great ambience!!!
Went to Larkin's for an anniversary dinner. Everything was great! The ambiance, the service food. Everything. We'll be back!
We waited an hour for our food and when it arrived the meat was cold and the sides obviously were thrown into a microwave to heat up and were not good. We offered to pay for our wine and sent the meal back and left. They did not charge us for the wine nor the awful food.
My cousin, visiting from New Hampshire, and I had a belated birthday lunch at Larkin’s for her. We ordered the shrimp cake appetizer, She crab soup, the fried oyster sandwich and the raw tuna with mango … everything was delicious!!! And our server was Alaina (spelling may be incorrect) who was personable and very attentive. Lastly, we sat outside on the covered veranda to enjoy the view of Greenville.
Always a favorite of ours.
Serenity was a great server. We had a lovely table on the patio - so the noise level was good. Food was very good - I had Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and avocado. Husband had the fried chicken sandwich with the Parmesan truffle fries and they were especially good.
Food was just mediocre
Parking was horrible but it was to be expected since Fall for Greenville was underway. The restaurant, staff and food was perfect and I have no complaints.
Excellent food, service and vibe. Sea bass was amazing!
We were appalled that the servers were not wearing masks. Know it is not required in SC, but expect service industry workers to be more unselfish when so close to their customers.
Can be casual and decadent at the same time. Loved the specialty drink for fall with Apple Cider and Cinnamon with Miso baked Oysters.
The food was extremely overpriced for what we ate. The grilled broccolini was not cooked very well and was lukewarm. The Boursin Mac and cheese was too salty and was Lukewarm as well.
The beef filet was cooked medium and had good flavor. It was not a $43.00 7 oz. steak at all.
We had one mixed drink each and paid $174.00.
I remember the me a being larger and the prices much more affordable. I don’t plan to get back ever again.
It was a fantastic night, as all was really good, the food, ambiance, service, all first class.
First night back to Peace Center performance which we told our server when we were seated at 5:30. I understand shortages in staff and we experienced it first hand. Appetizers did not arrive, drink orders were not served but our entrees were delicious. We waited a very long time for our checks and they were not correct. Even when they were presented a second time, it was still wrong. My bill still isn’t resolved. We almost missed the show due to the delays. Coupled with no longer offering valet parking, we will be trying other restaurants for the next show.
We were very pleased to enjoy a lovely evening with outstanding service and a delicious meal from a menu with lots of variety.
My best friend and I enjoyed his birthday dinner at Larkins this year and wow!! What an amazing choice!! Everybody was so nice, not to mention the complimentary birthday champagne and dessert!! It was an outstanding experience and we will definitely be back for my birthday in December!! (Also we sat outside and it was absolutely lovely)
Food was good - I had the sea bass and hubs had the small filet mignon - and we split the shrimp cake appetizer which we enjoyed - it was also on the expensive side. We ate outside and it was louder than we expected, mainly because of a large party seated near us, and our table was so wobbly hubs kept his foot on its foot so our drinks wouldn't tip as the table tilted when we cut our food. Our waitress was having a bad night which she tried to make up for by comping us the drinks she forgot we had ordered - but we waited over 10 minutes to be greeted when seated - and generally waited for everything as we had a hard time getting her attention. We were really looking forward to a nice dinner and enjoyable evening, but were disappointed.
We traveled from GA to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. We were told that Larkins would give us that fine dining experience we would expect in the ATL area and we were not disappointed. The food was great and the set provided by Serenity was wonderful! We were a party of six and we ordered the salmon, lamb chops, chicken & ribeye. All meals were cooked perfectly! I will definitely come back whenever we return to Greenville.
Food was not good. Sent the steak back twice. I like medium but it was raw. The second time I didn’t even ask for it back, just keep it at that point. Goat cheese salad was good. She crab soup was terrible.
