Wine is the only thing that was not good. We had to send it back. It had been open for probably days but they didn't hesitate to open fresh bottles for us. Food was very tasty and they can modulate the spiciness which is great.
Have eaten at several lao’s in the Chicago area and expected the same great food in Champaign. I was more than dissatisfied. The difference in the food quality was night and day. The beef and broccoli came out so brothy it may as well been soup. The server forgot to enter one of our entrees and when it came out, although presented nice, it was just like some Panda Express entree.
Authentic cuisine and menu. Wine was only $5, but only a 4oz pour.
Made a reservation for 1:30pm. Our table was given away to a party with less people and our overall wait was over an hour. We ordered appetizers and drinks, had to keep reminding them to bring drinks. Beers were warm. 1/2 the dinner arrived before any appetizers. Had to ask them to take the 1/2 of dinner back and bring the appetizers first. THen had to go get our own silverware and find someone to bring us water. Finally got the appetizers and then dinner came with 5 of our orders only. Two other orders came 15 minutes later. VERY POOR SERVICE!!!!! Will not go here again unless it is my last resort.
Had a private room. Despite it being graduation weekend the service was good and food prepared well.
Some of the best Chinese food we have had in the Midwest. Everything was cooked just right and we will be back.
Great addition to the Champaign Urbana area with an extensive menu and authentic flavors. Looking forward to trying many other items on the menu in our next visits.
Some of the food was very spicy. The lemon shrimp was excellent. The lamb dish was good but spicy although it was not labeled with peppers as a hot dish. The standard (not extra hot) Hot and sour soup was the spiciest I have had. Good if you enjoy that level of spice.
We arrived and were seated in a corner with big cardboard boxed of supplies right behind us (eyesore). For 25 minutes no one came with water, menus or to ask us if we wanted something to drink. Finally I had to go get someone’s attention.
The dishes when they were delivered were adequate but uninspired. We ordered tofu with vegetables which was quite bland. The eggplant was oily but quite tasteful.
Overall I was disappointed with the experience.
Thoroughly enjoyed our combination Mother's Day/U of I Graduation early dinner! We've dined here before and each visit is delicious!
We went here for a graduation luncheon. The food was outstanding. I would recommend the orange pork tenderloin and the spicy chili chicken. My poor rating was because of the service. The timing of bringing our orders was poor. One order was never brought and we had to ask why (they ran out). The ambience was pleasant.
Disappointed. The restuarant had received good reviews so I booked it for my son's graduation. The food was way too salty and the service extremely poor. They were out of things on the menu as well. They brought the appetizers to the table after the entrees. You had to remind them to bring water and tea. We asked for sugar for the tea and that took forever. .. had to ask three times. The water glasses were not clean. We ordered fish (it was suppose to be sole... i doubt it was) in bean sauce... I was surprised it was not steamed and it was fried and salty. The flat noodles were over cooked. The tofu was mushy, the pork was too salty as well. The monoglian beef was actually very good and the shrimp dish we had was decent. Spring rolls were a bit greasy but pot stickers were okay. Maybe their other locations are good.... but the Champaign/Urbana location is not worth going to... there are other Asian restaurants in Champaign that are better, more authentic, and cheaper and the ambiance is the same.
Food was good, they were out of a lot of items on their menu. Service was a bit disorganized , servers were friendly although a bit frazzled when it got busier. Prices were reasonable. All in all about a 3 1/2 star experience.
Food and ambiance were very good. We made reservations and showed up on time and still waited 30 minutes. It was worth the wait.
Very good food with a fresh taste. Will definitely visit again.
