Italian
World-renowned Italian Neapolitan pizzeria L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele arrives in Los Angeles early 2019. The first U.S. location of the historic pizzeria featured in the film Eat Pray Love, Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is located in the space which once held Hollywood’s beloved Café Des Artistes. Antica Pizzeria Da Michele will serve traditional Neapolitan pizza, using the same recipes and importing the same ingredients used at its origin restaurant. Upon opening, head pizzaiolo Michele Rubini, who trained in Napoli, will serve the concept’s two classic pizzas, Marinara and Margherita, with plans to expand the menu with the location’s own unique twist in the future. Inspired by Italian courtyards, which serve as central gathering points for locals, guests who visit the all-new Antica Pizzeria Da Michele are seated in “il cortile” the restaurant’s quintessential Hollywood garden—surrounded by lush greenery—where they can view pizzas being prepared.

Great place for a quiet Sunday Brunch. Well crafted pizzas with the truffle pizza being outstanding. Would have loved to have seen more healthy fruit juice/fruit smoothie choices.

We had to wait 35 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. It appeared others were being seated before my party. Food was good, but not worth being treated like that. Very disappointed.

Absolutely wonderful experience...Service was top notch from Francesco & the entire staff...We had several items from the creative menu & the only suggestion I would offer is a bit less sauce on the spaghetti...Otherwise fantastic dining experience...TWO THUMBS UP...CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK...

Beautiful space and the pizza was delish! However, we thought the other dishes, and we ordered a lot of them, were mediocre at best. And, the prices.....oh my!!!

Feels like an exclusive club! The secluded nature of it, even though it’s in the heart of Hollywood, is unique. We felt like we were eating pizza in a Piazza in Naples. The pizzas are amazing, however, the Chiatarra pasta dish was out of this world!!! We weren’t expecting such an extensive menu of appetizers, salads, charcuterie, and entrees. Our server, Max, was fantastic. Will definitely return!!!

Visited on Wednesday night 6/19. Very good overall, but the fact that it is only a month old showed in the service. Main course plates were brought before appetizers were cleared. Servers don't know the table numbers yet - they were walking around to various tables asking if they had ordered "X," trying to find the tables that had ordered the food that they were delivering. That happened repeatedly, asking if we had ordered a particular entree even though our entrees were right in front of us. Disconcerting.
A small point: it would be good to have salt and pepper shakers or something similar. If you serve salt and pepper in a small bowl, have a small spoon to use, not everyone will want to use their fingers to put pepper on their food.
Having said that, the food was very good and the space is beautiful. I will definitely go back, and I am fairly confident that these issues will get resolved as it gets some time under the belt.

Pizza was delicious-definitely what they are known for. Great service. Pasta dish wasn’t that great but my salad was excellent. Flies were flying around too much for my personal taste. Next time I return, I will request indoor seating.

Beautiful new restaurant. The indoor/outdoor vibe really makes the space feel special and takes advantage of our Mediterranean-like climate here in LA. All of the dishes we tried were delicious as was the wine. We spoke with the owner while waiting for our table at the bar. He was very nice and welcoming...always a pleasure to meet people who are sharing their passion with the world.

Very good Italian. Interesting appetizers - relatively small selection of Pizza despite the name. We had a hybrid fried / baked pizza which was very good. The restaurant was very crowded and we had trouble getting someone to clean the table and bring silverware. Service was rushed.

What a refreshing concept. The space is open enough to be comfortable without being crammed in. The food was on point, served hot and tasted like I was eating it straight from Naples.
Great menu. Can’t wait to return.

All in all it was a great evening with probably the best pizza we have ever had, pasta dishes were also very good, great ambiance and getting s chance to converse with the owner was a delight, we talked about Naples, and the small town my grand parents are from Caserta. Amazing Pizza, service was a little slow but all in all good. There was a situation with the picnic umbrellas where a server was trying to move them and kept getting them caught in the lights, almost hit a few people. May be best to set these up before guests arrive in the future.

I was very excited to try Da Michele because I have been to the original pizzeria in Napoli many times. The pizza did NOT dissapoint! Wonderful! They have a great wine list and other great menu options that look amazing. I can't wait to return and try more things. The space is modern but very welcoming, and the staff could not have been more friendly - a rare thing in popular LA restaurants.

Fantastic pizza. Posts was good, not great. Eggplant parmigiana was served at room temperature. Service was pretty poor. I hate knowing more than the waitress about the food they're serving! She couldn't pronounce house the dishes or remember the names of the specials.

The space was gorgeous. The ambiance was superb and the food, the food was breathtaking. The pizza tasted of Italy, like dining on a beautiful patio in a modern restaurant while enjoying everything about the place. The owner Francesco takes such pride in his establishment, as he should. And we lucked into the most fabulous server who’s name was Max. She was the icing on the cake. Have I raved enough? Love this place!

Sent us the wrong dish. We told her we are vegetarian and the pasta looked like it had meat in it. They said, no that’s eggplant. We ate one bite and it was surely meat. They didn’t even remove it off the bill. We had to ask after we got charged.
