Why not come and enjoy perhaps the biggest beer garden in the Bodmin area or join us one our fabulous games nights. Every other week we have a quiz night and we have league teams in darts, pool, euchre and Bodmin inter-pub quiz. Along with our extensive menu and daily specials, we think there is something for everyone and are confident you will not be disappointed by your visit to the Lanivet Inn.
Due to the restrictions we had to drink and dine outside. The pub have made a tremendous effort to accommodate this with an excellent shelter, heaters and good social distancing. The drinks are good, I tried both Tribute and Proper Job, both were kept well and reasonably priced. My wife went for G&T which was as expected good. The food was excellent. It is good quality and the portions are very generous. There is a varied menu so something there for everyone. This will be a trusted venue on our next trip to Cornwall.
Came for 30th Birthday and was absolutely lovely! Staff were fantastic, the environment was friendly and loved they accommodated to bringing dogs! Food excellent. Definitely come again.
Fantastic venue great service beautiful outside area
What a pleasurable meal! Even though outside, it was warm, comfortable, and felt safe. The new menu has some amazing choices. The best of which is the 3 for £12 starters - all of which (we had four) were delicious. Friendly staff, a lovely enjoyable lunch. Thank you.
We love the Lanivet Inn, been several times for food and a drink and always had excellent service, great food and a fabulously served pint.
The outdoor area is very pleasant for eating. They have made it feel homely and inviting. Food was lovely. I liked that they had three sizes for Sunday lunch. We were told there was a delay due the volume of meals but actually it wasn’t long at all. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely eat there again
Had a wonderful time. Felt covid secure throughout my visit and nothing was ever a problem. Thank you to all staff. Recommend to all to book as lots where turned away even with plenty of Cornish rain
I have been to the Lanivet inn many times before & would like to say well done on the new undercover beer garden!! It’s brilliant!! 👏👏 & we were very grateful to be undercover with last nights weather. It was very cold & we were dressed for that, but frustratingly there was two gas heaters there but they weren’t lit? One was lit about 9.45pm & it made a difference so it’s a shame they weren’t lit earlier as I think people would have braved the cold & stayed longer & consequently spent more money with you.
The food was all lovely 🥰
One of our young female waitress’s could work on her bedside manner a little, she wasn’t rude and this is definitely not a complaint, but since asked to provide a critique I thought I’d mention it. Overall I thought the girls did a great job, especially having to be out in the cold all evening. But upon ordering each part of our meal we were quite abruptly asked to pay for each thing. This meant over a course of a meal we had to pay 4 different times. I totally understand due to the outside dining that you need to keep track of payment. It would just have been nice if at the beginning of the meal it was politely explained you have to “pay as you go”, which would save us having to fumble around for money each time & the awkwardness of who’s going to pay for what. If we’d have paid individually for each thing we’d ordered, 4x over, we would have spent more time paying for things than we did enjoying our gathering! It does have an impact on the enjoyment of the dining experience.
Anyway overall, we had a lovely time, loved the evening beer garden ambience & will definitely be returning!! Also loved the use of the app for booking a table (so easy!!) & really appreciated the fact that unlike many other places, your table bookings aren’t limited to 1.5/2hrs.
Well done team Lanivet Inn!! 👏👍🍻
Really well organised. Roasts were great. Child really enjoyed his food. Desserts were also really nice. Can’t wait to eat indoors again!!
Delicious food. Booked ahead and were seated at the front of the pub instead of the beer garden, next to a busy road, plus music that was slightly too loud. However, none of the party could fault the excellent food and drinks.
Won’t be returning.
Got greeted by a lovely lady and that’s when the positivity ends. We sat at our table proceeded to order our food and drinks. Staff were so unwelcoming and rude! Clearly did not want to be there! Which made us feel uncomfortable to even order anything else.
After we had finished eating all of our plates were sat there for a good 45 mins we even ordered coffees after food and they brought them out and still left the plates till we left. It wasn’t even busy to give them the benefit of the doubt.
3 different members of staff served us and all of them were blunt and rude.
Unfortunately we will not be returning or recommending.
Lovely people, really nice food, would definitely recommend
Given the difficult circumstances the Lanivet has created a great setting, fab menu and good value for money. Shame about pay as you go although I’m sure they have a good reason.
Second time eating there within the space of 4 days. Food was good, service was spot on with no long wait for food.
Excellent all round very good food fantastic menu good ambiance and value for money
A very fine Sunday lunch with the usual roast selection. Go for the large option if you’re really hungry - it’s huge! Outside dining was COVID secure with tables (picnic tables) well spaced out. Staff were attentive and friendly. Would certainly recommend if you are in the Bodmin area. Note - Lanier is a few miles outside of Bodmin town.
Good food and service! Good great value. Drinks bit dearer but possibly brewery related ?
Really enjoyed our visit! Lovely food, friendly staff and really helpful. Nice choice of cocktails aswell and wonderful vibes under the canopy outside. Just a note to other diners that you may be required to ‘pay as you go’ whilst the outside dining rules are in place.
As always superb food and service, lovely to be out and meet people again
Very COVID friendly. Outdoor under cover dining. Only a short wait to be served. We had fish and chips. Very good and a choice of size
Good food, nice atmosphere and service was good. The marquee was inviting.
Lovely food fantastic service , will definitely be returning
Lovely meal and so nice to be able to sit outdoors.
I booked a table early because we all had work the next day. We then had to wait 1 hour and 45 mins to get our food, by which time we were absolutely frozen. I would have left but it was my sons birthday! There were also people that came after us that got served before us, not really acceptable. Whilst I appreciate that it was busy, this should be factored in in the kitchen.
We usually have a lovely meal but the wait was ridiculous and when our meals arrived my hunters chicken wasn’t great, my uncle had the same and the chicken was incredibly dry/over cooked on both.
Hopefully it was just a blip as what they have done outside looks amazing (they could do with a few heaters though).
We have roasts most Sunday’s from Lanivet and they are usually very tasty. It won’t put us off trying again.
We were very pleased with our visit to the Inn the service and food was first class this being our our first meal out since lockdown,
We are regular visitors to the "Panda Inn" and have always been made to feel welcome and can honestly say have always received a great experience, even in these challenging times.
Apart from the fact we waited an hour to be served a drink it was a pleasant experience. Also bit disappointing the Sunday menu was a roast option only.
There was a very comprehensive menu and a lot of effort had gone into providing outdoor seating.
The staff were friendly and efficient coping well with the first Friday evening of trading since lockdown.
The food was good with very large portions and good value for money.
I think it would be good to have a vegan friendly dessert. However the vegan curry is amazing.
As usual fantastic food and service.
Love the overhead canopy and Astro turf in the garden area, all spotless and inviting, tables good distance apart too 👍
My son is a very picky eater and usually only eats burgers when we eat out and so it’s fair to say that he has tried many different burgers. He had the pizza burger on Monday and commented that it is the best burger he has ever had.
Food was lovely, service was excellent, in fact a very nice afternoon, definitely will be going again
Excellent value , interesting and different menu in addition to pub classics. Staff friendly , helpful and efficient . Safe and exceptionally clean . Hubby loved all the lights! Well done Lanivet Inn aka Panda Bar to my “ancient” husband! See you again soon hopefully!
Fantastic food, lots of choice, friendly staff
Would highly recommend.
It's always good here, and the adaptations to the Covid rules haven't changed that. Great place to eat.
We were made to feel welcome during a difficult time. Customer service was outstanding. My only criticism is that the gravy on the roast dinner was not hot.
We very much enjoyed our visit to Lanivet Inn.
Very well organised & Covid safe, helpful staff, lovely food & good value for money!
Look forward to a return visit!
Me and my partner ate at the Lanivet Inn on Tuesday night. The staff were very friendly, attentive and kept to Covid guidelines. I ordered the Lamb Tagine and my partner ordered the beast burger... We definitely underestimated the portion sizes. The burger was huge! Great value for money and the Tagine tasted amazing. We will definitely be returning!
The Lanivet Inn is welcoming, friendly staff, brilliant atmosphere and excellent food. Portions are large and great value for money. Every time I am in Cornwall this is the place I head to time and time again. Keep up the good work team panda
