   The food was delicious and presentation was great. My friend and I did a few land and sea apps, split a pasta special as a second course and then each picked an entree. All were delicious. The service was also really good; super friendly and informative staff. And since it’s a byob, it makes this very affordable!

    First time dining at l'anima in the Graduate Hospital of Philly. We ususally don't dine out on Saturday night at 8:00 PM but this one time we did. Every seat in l'anima was occupied and all diners were in a festive mood as the Philadelphia Phillies had just clinched the National League Division Series. The noise level was high upon entering and it got even higher as the night progressed. The food was very good but the service was slightly inconsistent. Our appetizer arrived the same time as our entrees...oops! Apologies were profuse from the staff. We did have to wait longer than normal for our desserts to arrive, but once they did they were delicious. We'll definitely visit l'anima again, but next time it will be on a weeknight with the hope that the entire restaurant will be less hectic and service more smooth. It is a welcome new "nabe" in the Graduate Hospital section of Philly.

    It was 9 of us celebrating a birthday, my friend wanted to eat here because she walked past this restaurant all the time. This is a South Philly neighborhood gem. The menu is Roman Italian and a little different but everything we ordered was delicious and they had daily specials. It's a little pricey but it's a nice cozy place with good food and excellent service. This is a BYOB

    Food is superb. We are in town for only a couple weeks, found this neighborhood gem and had to return for a second visit, which did not disappoint. Over our two visits we had the octopus, beet salad (twice), prosciutto and fig salad, pappardelle, and tiramisu. Every bite was perfection. Attentive service. Quiet ambience. Highly recommend!

    This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Large outdoor patio, table nicely spaced so you can have a conversation. The food is outstanding, we have eaten here many times and it is always delicious. Highly recommend this place.

    Beautiful outdoor ambience, but you’d receive a better experience sitting indoors. The food is delicious depending on who is cooking/knows the menu best, but was a 50/50 experience.

    Very nice BYOB with great patio seating. Food was excellent. We had the gnocchi and a crab meat linguine special. Good selection of apps and mains but not overly large menu. Finished with pannacotta which was very tasty as well. Server was very nice. Highly recommended.

    The six of us sat outside on a balmy night. We enjoyed the food we orders (octopus and buffalo/prosciutto as apps; cacio y pepe; breaded chicken pounded thin with salad atop it; tiramisu for dessert. Couldn't ask for any better!

    This was our first time to L’Animal. The food was outstanding especially the arugula and basil pesto and the mushroom appetizer. Julio our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and provided exceptional service. We will definitely be back!

    We sat outside and the restaurant had mosquito repellent handy (thank you!) Service was delightful -- our server Julio was very attentive and double-checked when I noted cheese on the side for one dish and not another (I am lactose intolerant but aged cheeses are ok; burrata is not.) He also split the appetizer onto two plates for us which was really kind ☺️ The food overall was delicious and generous portions -- don't sleep on the Bolognese!

    Always enjoy our meals at L'Anima quality food at a very fair price. My wife had the Tuna Crudo as an app. and said it was oustanding. she had the same dish at another place recently and there was no comparison. I had the Pork as an entree and you could cut it with a regular table knife, with a blueberry sauce over polenta the dish was wonderful. The weather was brutal outside, so we ate inside and could not enjoy the beautiful patio outside. Would recommend this anyone.
