L'Anima Ratings and Reviews
Had a fabulous time on Friday night. The food was excellent and service was top notch. For starters we ordered the raw tuna and octopus and n'duja, mains were the monkfish and turbot. The sommelier recommended Trebbiano d'Abruzzo which went well with our dinner. We were quite full but found our second stomach to share the Cupolone, the Chocolate dome - it's a must have. I can't fault the level of service which was perfect. I'd definitely come again.
Very convenient for meeting friends in the City and was a surprising find - we arrived early and the restaurant was empty but all the staff were very friendly and welcoming , giving us special treatment =- the restaurant soon filled up and the atmosphere grew but did not crowd in on us - super food off the taste autumn special and great wine - overall good value - would not hesitate to recommend
Chi Chi restaurant full of business men the night we went, with an entrance that was quite hard to find! Good service throughout. Offer included prosecco. Bread basket was delicious. Starter (cheese and pumpkin) and dessert (blueberry and almond tart) both good, main of baby chicken a bit disappointing.
The restaurant was lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The food exceptional, service fantastic but we did go on a Saturday which I believe is a quieter night for them but this meant that the staff had time to talk to everyone. I didn’t like my dessert (personal taste) and so they changed it with no questions asked.
I had lunch with my friend and goddaughter the other day.it was a very nice welcome so good service and very well presented tasty food.prawn and courgette spaghetti super.one thing the air conditioning was a bit too fierce i did mention later in meal and seemes to get bit better.great location for liverpool street station
The bright airy feel when I first entered made me worry I may be dining in a goldfish bowl but the one way smoked glass resolves that problem whilst adding people watching opportunities for those commuters not enjoying the fine dining here. We went for the special offer - 3 courses plus prosecco and really enjoyed it. Great food and some very nice presentation. Waiting staff were informative with details about the dishes without being in any way intrusive. Would happily go again.
Had summer menu. Staff were excellent, very professional and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Food was very good. For this part of town, 3 courses plus a glass of prosecco plus coffee is very good value, particularly when the food is this good. Ambience was also good, not too noisy so we could talk.
booked a table via Open Table and selected the set menu option - which is a steal! great service, good wine list (pricey), simple but elegant setting, beautifully presented delicious plates, the food at this restaurant is definitely fit for Foodies!!!
ran into some confusion on arrival as they wouldn't give us the set menu claiming we didn't book online. luckily I had proof!
nevertheless, we had a lovely evening, and will return for sure.
Great food as usual , service over efficient and rushed. We have been many times . The restaurant wasn't very busy but we were a little rushed by the service . Clearing plates and glasses when you hadn't quite finished and the next course appearing before you were ready .
I have eaten at L'anima before and my previous meal was fantastic - this time the food was very very average . In fact i took my friends here based on my last experience and ended up being quite embarrassed as no one really enjoyed the food.
The wine list is great though.
The octopus starter was lovely, both in texture and taste. The linguine was a tad overcooked, but the base wasn't overly rich and quite refreshing. The monkfish was delicious, it was paired well with the sides. I only wished they could have removed the bones. The tuna was mediocre, could skip that dish. The service was great, apart from how fast they spoke making it difficult to catch every word. As for the dessert, I ordered the souffle and it was mediocre at best, I could not taste the 'whiskey' and the waiter just poked a hole into the souffle without a warning. The caramelized pineapple was meh and the tiramisu was decent. The atmosphere of the space was great, would wanna try during the daytime.
My partner and I came here for an anniversary. We'd looked at the menu before so we expected the higher-end prices. For a Friday night, the restaurant was quiet but because of it's location we assume it's a little busier mid-week for business meals. The service was impeccable - I would recommend the restaurant on that alone. We even had a few freebie bites and extra glasses of wine on the side which I thought was a really nice touch and that kept us happy but also made me really full that I was too stuffed to order dessert. My partner ordered the lamb which looked very good and I had the mushroom risotto which was so-so. All in all, a good place to come for a really special occasion and just want a quiet place to talk and laugh. I'd come again for another special occasion to try a meat dish.
This is our second visit and it was as amazing as the first. The menu is imaginative, tasty and wholesome at the same time. The food is beautifully presented and the staff are attentive without being intrusive. The place is buzzing with city boys (and girls) but I think everyone is there for the exquisite but pricey food. We will definitely be returning.
