   First time there I had the veal parmigiana and it was the best in the city. Michael was our waiter service was excellent. We will be back this is a hidden gem.

   Great place to enjoy dinner with friends. I think their red sauce variation on seafood choices is better than their white- found the white to be a tad bland.

   This restaurant was super-fantastic as always. I love bringing friends, family and colleagues to this place because they are always blown away by the great food. Original, creative recipes with complex flavors. Never had a meal I didn't love. Had the Papparedelle with mushrooms and shrimp this time and it was fantastic. This place is a must visit.

    This little byob is by the best I’ve been to …amazing food ,wonderful waitstaff and it was perfect small intimate dinning experience. John was on point with everything 5 stars . We will be back .

    Excellent Caesar salad with plenty of Parmesan! Eggplant parm app was very tasty. Warm bread with olive oil was a nice extra. Linguine with shrimp special had a very nice kick. The Ossobuca special was delish along with the bread pudding for desert. The tables were loud, but that was ok cause they were heading to the Phillies World Series game. It was a great Italian dinner in the heart of South Philly!

    It’s rare that I can’t stop thinking about a meal, but that’s what’s happening since my first visit. The octopus appetizer was special. A tremendous combination of flavors. The pasta was prepared perfectly. The sauce was authentic. Shrimp were cooked perfectly. Gnocchi were pillows of pleasure. Even the espresso was a noticeable cut above This place is a gem.

    We used to go here all the time and loved it….we tried it again and loved it even more. Food is delicious, portions are very ample, and you get a lot of value for your money. When Italian restaurants in Center City have gotten pretty expensive, offer smaller portions, and charge you for the bread, L’Angolo has maintained their small trattoria feel and offers you great food. I hope this place never changes. The wait staff is also excellent.

    Been going to L’Angelo for a good 15 years now and we are never disappointed. Pastas are our go to. Lobster Ravioli, Large Rigatoni with Wild Boar Ragu (special), Spaghetti Amatrciano, Gnocchi. Whatever you do, save room for the Pumpkin Cheesecake - it is worth every calorie :)

    It was fantastic. Food was amazing except for bread - was toasted and hard as a rock, requested butter but it never came. Atmosphere was adorable, perfect date place. Very authentic. Could hear chef speaking Italian! Service was great and food came out in under 15 minutes. Would definitely go back again. I had the gnocchi. So delicious!

    The food was just OK. Not great flavor and not anything special. The restaurant needs a bit of sprucing up as the ceiling is in need of repair. We were hoping it would be better as we heard it was a great restaurant. The service was very good though.

    Amazing food. It is tight in the restaurant for sure but well worth it. Some of the best Italian we have had for a long time. Take an Uber though...don't try to park around here..lol.

    Could not have been more disappointed. Without exaggeration, the worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten. Totally mislead by reviews in Eater and Philly Mag. Clumsy, overcooked and just plain poor preparations of everything we ordered. Have eaten in so many of Philly’s outstanding Italian restaurants. Wanted to try something new for my birthday, so decided to venture further afield than usual. Reviews on L’Angelo called it an outstanding neighborhood restaurant, but what we experienced was a waste of time and money. The lowest point, and perhaps the only low point, I’ve ever had in food in Philadelphia.

    Another great meal at L’Angola! Our server John was awesome. We had a couple of the specials. The fish was overcooked and they bought us the Pork Ossobucco instead and it was amazing. Thanks again for a great meal!

    The pasta is excellent as was the caprese appetizer with sweet red peppers, mozzarella and tomatoes. Back room was a little chilly from a/c, but otherwise very small and friendly.

    Food and vibe very good. We arrived on time and were not lingering, but right from the outset and through to the end, felt we were being rushed by our waitress. We will go back though - always enjoy a nice "joint".
