My boyfriend and I were blown away by the amazing food we had this past weekend at Langdon hall. We stayed the night in one of the rooms which was very special and went for dinner in the main dining room. We were served delicious bread and yummy ricotta cheese to start, we shared the scallops dish for our appetizer which the kitchen kindly split onto two plates, it looked beautiful and tasted even better. For our mains I had the cauliflower risotto which was so rich and delicious, my boyfriend had the bison which was equally delicious and a completely different taste. Such an amazing menu and very grateful to be able to eat such incredible food, thank you Langdon team!

Decadently delicious! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Langdon Hall in the main dining room. We started with their freshly baked sourdough bread and chive and gruyere bread. Next, we were presented with a delicious amuse bouche of their house-made ricotta and mini lettuce leaves, topped with the petals of a citrus plant and served on a piece of natural slate. We both chose the Beets and Berries appetizer and we both thought it was outstanding! I chose the sable fish while my husband chose the chicken. Again, we were both impressed with the delicious, mouth-watering taste of our entrées. We had no room left to sample the dessert choices with our coffee and blueberry tea but our server brought us each a mini-muffin and a jellied apricot bite! Just a perfect meal! Compliments to the creative chef!!

Upscale and sophisticated, service and attention to detail was meticulous as expected for an establishment of this reputation. Romantic setting and special treatment given our special occasion. Wine pairings were great, even though the food didn't veer far from its traditional interpretation and lacked excitement and added flare.

Driving in from the Oakville area, we were fortunate that the sun was out making it a pleasant drive. We were a party of 3 and arrived 15 mins early and they were able to seat us right away. We had our 10 year old daughter with us to celebrate family day and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We all ordered different appetizers and mains and tried each other’s dishes. My daughter’s scallops were fantastic but my duck egg was my favourite! The presentation was beautiful and the tastes matched it as well! The home-made bread was so fresh and a balance of soft with crunch of the crust! The price was high but I must say the value is still there! We will be back for sure!

Langdon Hall exceeded our expectations. The food was spectacular, the only let down was the bill. We were charged $15 for still water, which is just ridiculous. We were unaware of this charge until the final bill.

Firstly , you should know that my wife and are long time residents of Stratford, one of the Canada's top hospitality destinations. And as experienced travellers and diners we are discerning, if not overly critical patrons. We had looked forward to our first visit to Langdon Hall and although I am wary of holiday dining (often establishments do not put their best foot forward for what they consider may be inexperienced or naive guests ) I felt that with your reputation that would not be an issue. Sadly, however, this was not the case. While your service was passable and in a few cases kindly and solicitous the food was terrible. My wife had the soup described as a nutty, rich offering which tasted like it came from a can, viscous, brown and bland. I had the shrimp which were laughably small, scattered on the plate like an afterthought, and looked and tasted like a left over no name shrimp ring left out too long to melt. With hope for the next course we both ordered the scallops which I can only describe as a joke. A meagre few cold barely cooked opaque little discs of wan scallop sat in the ghastly company of hard little rounds of parsnip and raw radish covered in a vapid orange sauce that only made the whole dish worse. Afterwards, still hoping beyond hope that things might change, we had two specialty coffees. My wife, the Italian and I the Irish. Her's was ok, mine was hopeless. Served without care or class in a regular coffee cup with a desultory swirl of whipped cream, it was cold and gritty and even the whiskey couldn't improve it. Out of deference to civility we said nothing but we will not be back and at those prices you should be ashamed to serve such utterly substandard fare. Terrible.

Spectacular in every regard. We were spoiled w service and food. Thomas helped navigate the extensive wine list which has incredible depth and some surprising value. Our server was wonderful - she (unfortunately forgetting her name) was warm, and charming. Service ran smoothly, well paced, and the room exudes colonial luxury. This was my first visit and will definitely be back. Worth every hard earned dollar.

I've heard of this place for a while and have been very looking forward to a trip just to this so-called No. 4 restaurant nationwide. However, the experience disappointed me, especially I found it was not worth the 2.5 hours drive. The quality and quantity of the food did not match its price tag. The ambiance was quiet and decoration was nice. The service was good but not great. Their speed of serving food were super slow. Now the food. Overall, they did a much better job at seafood dishes than their meat dishes. In addition, the presentation work was much better than flavouring/cooking skills and the freshness of some ingredients. - The bread was served cold. - The smoked trout: The trout itself was fresh, came with very light creamy sauce which had a taste of coconut oil. It was creative in the way that it tasted like Thai food but not quite. However, I didn't enjoy the creation too much. The trout, despite its freshness, tasted very flavourless. - The sweet shrimp: This was one of the better dishes among what we ordered. I was so amazed by their beautiful plating. The highlight was the lemon jam. It help provided a perfectly balanced taste with the shrimp and quinoa. However, the shrimp tasted very old and fishy. - The scallop: I tried a bite from my friend's plate and liked that refreshing taste and texture quite well. - Pork chop: The pork tasted too fishy, not enough cooking wine from my point of view. The cabbage tasted old too. - Fried duck egg: The egg was just okay. The duck confit tasted so dry and aged. I didn't like this dish neither. The fried potato was crispy and tasty though. - Lz chocolate: This was a flawless dish. I liked the thick and smooth taste and sweetness level. Overall, at a price of $70-80 per person for lunch, you can get much better quality of food at other restaurants in GTA.

The service and the food is top notch. The sommelier paired our meal perfectly. We were celebrating our 30th Anniversary, and it felt special. We have lots of dietary restrictions, and the server made sure the kitchen was aware of everything. The dining room is gorgeous, and the view from the windows is magical. We highly recommend!

LH was perfect place for pre Christmas lunch - ambience and setting got us in the Christmas spirit and the luncheon menu was delightful - we has the butternut squash veloute (best ever), smoked trout (innovative and so tasty) but the best was the beef shortribs (the wine jus was perfectly flavored, the beef just melted in your mouth and the croissant bread pudding was a wonderful surprise for 2 ladies who hate bread pudding but could have eaten another slice of this for sure)...the piece de resistance was the plum pudding dessert - have never tasted a pudding so bursting with flavor) The cab sauvignon was light and perfect accompaniment to our lunch. Bravo to the chef and the LH service team! LBN

Experience from second annual December lunch. From the time you enter the front hall you can't help to notice that all of the staff are caring, attentive, mindful without being over solicitous. The fireplaces add charm, the views from the many windows are outstanding. The bartenders who mixed our pre-dinner drinks were efficient and seemed to add a creative twist to old time favorites and new cocktail inventions. The dining staff were not only very professional but managed to create a special meal by straying as bit from the set menu, what a nice surprise. Must say, the taste experience cannot be matched, kudos to the chef.

We went for our anniversary. What an amazing experience! We have both worked in the industry for over 16 years each, in all facets, and were absolutely blown away. The service was tremendous, the beverage selections were wonderful, and approachable, but the main hi-light for us was the food. We both had appetizers and mains, which started with a beautiful cabbage amuse bouche, and the intermezzo of truffle soup is something we crave now. We finished off the night with a few cheese selections. For two people, 3 courses each and 3 beverages, the price was a lot more reasonable than we expected, and we can not wait to come back and enjoy another world class meal, and wonderful experience!
