It was our first visit to your restaurant. But we will definitely be back again.
The Laredo Chicken was outstanding. Also the potato soup. My husband had a steak that was cooked just right.
Waitress was new manager was no where to be found. It took 1 hour to get our salads and when food came out it looked like they just threw it on the plate. Don’t plan on ever coming back. Texas road is way better than this place.
The table was dirty when we got to it and the hostess watched as we wiped off crumbs with the menus before we sat down. After ordering we told the waitress we needed silverware. After a few minutes another server saw us looking around and asked if we needed something. We told her about the silverware and she immediately brought it to us. I, more than once, told our server I wanted a wedge salad with only bacon and ranch dressing, and she repeated that back to me yet when I got my salad it had tomatoes and balsamic dressing. Not a huge deal, but when added in with what was to come it helps paint the picture. We waited 30 minutes for our food to come out and when it did, my steak was barely warm and over-cooked. I sent it back and after 15 more minutes and my husband finishing half of his meal, I asked for a manager. When she arrived at our table she acted like she had no clue why we would be asking for her. I had no plate of food...it should have been obvious. I told her and she went to check on it. She said the GM was actually the one in the kitchen making food. When she brought my 2nd steak out it was also over-cooked and she acknowledged that and agreed with me. At this point, I was beyond frustrated because she wasn’t even acting like this was a big deal. We had been there an hour at this point and I was going to have to eat by myself while my husband would be finished by the time a 3rd steak arrived. I asked what the issue was and why were we unable to get a properly cooked steak and her only response was that “she wasn’t going to make excuses for failing us”. She never once offered to comp my meal or offer a free dessert. That’s when I said I wasn’t paying for my meal so she snatched my husband’s plate from in front of him and said “fine” and stormed off to the kitchen. We were in town on vacation and celebrating our anniversary. We don’t have Saltgrass at home and had really looked forward to going. We won’t be going to a Saltgrass ever again.
This was a terrible experience. Made a reservation well before closing time. Service was lacking, staff looked very stressed out. Needless to say reservation was never honored, ended up leaving empty handed. Service industry is suffering, hope they get things situated.
We placed our order, they list the ticket but knew about it, approached us and said the ticket got lost, my drink is on the way. Fast forward an hour and a half, I ask the waiter where our food is, she says she has no idea lol. She comes back and says the ticket was lost again, we tell her take out is fine since it’s 15 minutes to closing time, the bill comes and it’s still full price after the wait.
Horrible service from the front to the back of the house and the food was not worth the money. This location is obviously being mismanaged because we had a completely different experience at the one in Birmingham.
The steak was cooked perfectly, the shrimp were the good quality white flesh not translucent. The side dish options were appreciated, I’m so sick of asparagus and vegetable medley. My green berms and pinion rings tasted wonderful. This was the best meal outside of Disney that I have had since moving to Florida. They had all of my favorites and they were all prepared to perfection. Then we brought home Cheese cake and carrot cake. They were delectable and huge.
PS if you go to Disney use you Landry’s membership and dine at Yak and Yeti in Animal kingdom. The best restaurant in Disney. Below is a Pic from there.
Now we have some ply delicious to dine much closer to home. We are going back this weekend and bringing same friends.
Great place with a great country fried steak….Very comfortable..
We love the food here. It was a beautiful evening to sit outside and see the water while we ate.
The view of the bay was very nice & the food was good, but the staff was not knowledgeable about the menu or very accommodating at all. I don’t think we will be back. I’m not sure that this restaurant will make it.
The food took entirely too long to come to the table. When it did, it all came at the same time (appetizer, salad and entrees)
The food and time management was way better than I imagined. We had to get to prom and they got us seated immediately and made sure all of our food came out at the same time and it was amazing!! Only problem was there was plenty of open area and we were set right behind a very grouchy couple, but once they left the experience was better.
Long wait even thought we had a reservation. Poor engagement from the hostess stand. Slow service. Food was undercooked and order was in accurate. Little show of enthusiasm by everyone including management.
I think we got a brand new server because the server was Very slow the best part of me was the desert best carrot cake ever
Great place to celebrate any occasion, great service and food. Highly recommend
Was seated at our reservation time.
Waitress took our drink and lunch order in less than 5 min.
We then watched the bartender stand around doing nothing . The waitress continually checked with him for our drinks. 30 min after ordering them they arrived at our table . Our waitress was very nice she kept coming back to assure us our meals would be coming
Shortly. 90 minutes after ordering our meals arrived . They were all undercooked . Hostess/assistant mgr
Was rude when we spoke to her about comping something off the price . Then spoke with Mgr. He agreed and apologized and comped us our drinks . He said he was cooking due to staffing issues. We should have been informed so we could make the decision to leave.
Will never return. We were the 5th party seated after opening and had to wait that long. Can only imagine how long people after us had to wait .
This was not my first time at this restaurant, however it was the worst experience I have ever had. My reservation was made way ahead of time and yet we still had to wait. The server was nice yet she was so overwhelmed that she wasn't able to give us the service we deserved. We ended up leaving after wait over 30 minutes for our water and hour for our drinks and an hour and a half for the salad which was very good. Needless to say my brother had to wait for his drink because it sat out so long it turned into a bourbon water drink. The ice had melted completely. I emailed the restaurant the day after yet I haven't heard from them. I would like for someone to actually reach out to me regarding my time at the restaurant. Word of mouth is the best advertising and I really would like to get a better thought of Saltgrass as I previously had. Would I visit again? That is based upon if I am contacted by someone from that restaurant. Its been over a month now. So we shall see.
Food was terrible
We had a reservation at 6:45, they told us they were about 20 minutes behind however, we didn’t get seated until almost 8:00. When they went to seat us our tabled hadn’t even been cleaned off yet and the hostess had to quickly buss and clean the table. The waitress took our order and brought us our salads very quickly. We asked for bread and were told it was still thawing and then had to go in the oven to be warmed. Once we got our bread it was still frozen in the middle. At about 8:45 our waitress informed us that our ticket had been lost and the kitchen never got our food order. So after two hours of waiting we had no food, so we left. This was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The waitress seemed to be on drugs ....she was very slow and would disappear for a while. We never received our appetizer...she brought us salad ....then we waited 20 minutes for food that we learned she never put in the system. Had another nice waiter help us out and after my husband complained, brought our appetizer to us. Then she tried to bring us another salad!! We had to remind her that she already brought it to us. The other waiter eventually brought out our food. We tipped him because he did more than she did.
We waited for our table that we had reservations at 3:45pm for 20 minutes. The service was horrible, the waitress took forever getting our order. We finally got our food after an hour and half of waiting for it. The tables next to got their food before us. When we got our food it was cold and ribs were burnt. Our waitress was no where to be seen. We walked around looking for her and finally had to see the hostess stand to find a manager. When he came back he took off one meal off the bill. After explaining our frustration and that 4 out of the 5 meals were not even eaten off of, he Compt the whole meal.
We arrived around 4:30 and the restaurant had a few diners. We had a party of three and we’re told a 15 minute wait because all of the servers were busy??? And they were waiting for more staff to arrive. We did get seated after a 15 minute wait. Our food was decent overall, but they did forget my son’s mashed potatoes (which for some reason took forever to come out of the kitchen).
As vacationers, we probably won’t be back.
First time there and will definitely go back again! Sirloin steak was delicious and the fried shrimp was wonderful - the breading was so good! Great salad and bread to start and then took a slice of cheesecake home for later. Very very good! Definitely recommend the Saltgrass Steakhouse!
We were so disappointed. Saltgrass has always been my favorite restaurant to visit in Pensacola, and always make a reservation. We eat here each month when we visit our college daughter. The hostess was rude and let us know she would get to us “when she gets to us”. We sat for over 30 minutes waiting for our reserved table. There was also a man sitting at the bar with a puppy on his lap. That was interesting. There looked to be plenty of staff wandering around but nobody actually working. This is the first time we’ve ever had a bad experience with Saltgrass, and may never return due to this experience.
Very nice afternoon. Food was a little slow coming out (probably because they’re short staffed like everywhere else right now), but sitting outside was fabulous, the food was very well prepared and all of the staff were very friendly. Very enjoyable, will return
enjoyed very much; food was great! service was awesome. Service was great!
Friday night outing😊Was heading to another restaurant but had a two hour wait. So glad we remembered Salt Grass (other side of town ) and now is our FAVORITE steak house!! Wait not long, staff friendly and prompt and the food was delicious 😋
6 friends had an early dinner. All plates and side were great. Great service. Enjoyable.
I've been a #LandrysClub member since this location was a Landry's Restaurant. To come back here for Easter dinner was interesting. I booked the reservation over a month ago because we were attending a wedding in Destin. We arrived early. 2 members of our party were a few minutes behind us. When they arrived they were told there was no party by my name there. But we were.... in the corner where the left is for 15 minutes where no one came to the table. Even after the remainder of our party came we still waited for someone to come to even take drink orders. The restaurant was not packed it had just opened up and our reservation was at 12:15. After someone finally came to wait on us it felt as if she was rushed the entire time or if she was working a completely different section. Our food was good. Although I would take off the Balsamic dressing off the wedge salad it tasted weird. I was not a fan of that at all. All and all I wanted more out of a Landry club restaurant but I didn't feel a wanted customer. The only thing that saved my meal was that my wine was the right temperature and my food was good.
Best steak we have ever had, hands down! We will definitely visit again when traveling.
Appetizer cold. Got bread at end of meal after asking for it. Country fried steak tasted like grease. Steak not cooked properly, had to send it back. Plates just didn’t look appealing!
Limited menu was a surprise. Other than that everything was great.
We went to the saltgrass that is in Pensacola and my husband ordered country fried steak and I ordered blackened salmon. It arrived as caramelize salmon and his country fried steak was vulcanized. It took us 15 minutes to finally get an alcoholic beverage. We arrived at 5 PM so there was not a lot of other patrons. The waitresses were congregating at the bar, instead of waiting on people. We had a trainee waitress who was very sweet, but very loud.
We also dined outside where we had a family with small children who were very vocal next to us.
Overall good food. We had two different servers throughout our meal and it was very smoky inside.
Great restaurant, steak was a tad bit over cooked (ordered medium came out medium well) but everything else was pretty good. Friendly staff and great view.
We had a great meal our waitress Amber was very personable. Great visit!
We were seated on time so that was good. There wasn't a large crowd so that was easy. A hostess took our drink orders & brought bread. She either didn't bring us sweet tea or it was just that poor.
The food was ehh. The fried pickles seemed like they bwere fried twice. The cheese fries were pathetic looking w/ glob of melted cheese, few green onion, and a bacon bit or two. The ribs I had were bland other them the sauce. The meat had zero flavor except what it dervoed from the sauce. I asked if the shrimp were local, and he said yeah, from Joe Patti's. Do you know where that is? I did, but if I didn't, a good explanation of what JP's is & what they do would have made a mark on someone from out of town. He seemed to be "jacked up" taking our orders. He seemed sped up for some reason. He did bring is sweet teas in a somewhat timely fashion. The servings seemes to be smaller than I recall for the first couple of times I patronized Saltgrass. The music was good, even heard some Casey Donahew, Aaron Watson, Curtis Grimes so that was nice. As I said beforehand, I've enjoyed my last few visits but this one may be my last unless I hear friends talking about it. It was disappointing and I won't be back. I wouldn't ever say anything like that but I did not enjoy anything except my Mom's birthday.
The view of Pensacola Bay is terrific. There is outdoor seating. We especially enjoy the salmon which is cooked perfectly and the baby back ribs.
We walked in and were seated quickly with our reservation. The service overall was at a snails pace and our server rarely checked in on us. It took over 1 hour for us to get our food, luckily we were not in a hurry. The food used to be great and now the steaks are just ok. I ordered a 12oz ribeye and it looked about the size of a thin cut from the Waffle House.
If I am going out for a steak I will not be back here.
View and service were outstanding. Meal was lackluster.
