Everything was fine with the service and the other personnel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only complaint was on one of the steaks. It was ordered medium rare but came out well done. I didn’t complain and ate it, and it was fine. Just not what was ordered. Overall a good experience.
Food here has always been very good. Service was quick but not rushed.
We waited an hour and twenty minutes for our food. Two tables that arrived 15-20 minutes after us got their food first. There was a party of 5 and one of 6. There were 2 of us. The place was not that busy.
Our waitress, I believe her name was Jessica, was absolutely fantastic. Food was fair but not worth the price. Kitchen hoods were down so it was incredibly smoky in the restaurant, even worse in the kitchen. I felt really bad for the staff. We were sat really quick and given drinks and bread pretty soon after. Bread was delicious. The rest of the food took forever to come out, though; I assume the smokiness was effecting the speed of kitchen staff. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and would probably come back, so long as the hoods are fixed.
Drove from Mobile to try this restaurant after hearing how good Saltgrass Steakhouse was. Must’ve been talking about another location as this one is definitely not impressive.
Our server told us the bread oven was down yet tables all around us were getting bread brought to their table. When we pointed that out to her she said “huh- I told them to tell me when we had bread”. We ordered an appetizer of loaded cheese fries which came out scorched. Literally half the potatoes on the plate were burnt black. We would’ve sent them back but couldn’t get our servers attention to come back to the table so we ate around the burnt ones. We both ordered filets medium, mine came out medium rare. Again, no server in sight so I traded with my spouse who doesn’t mind bloody steak. Finally the server passed by the table and we were able to flag her down and request more butter for the baked potato and drink refills. Never got either. When she brought the bill we again requested drink refills since by this time we were waiting for ice to melt in the glass just to get enough liquid to swallow food. She mumbled she had forgotten and retrieved the refills. Overall the food was okay, the steaks had good flavor and the baked potatoes were tender but the service was so poor we definitely won’t make the drive again.
Sadly like every restaurant they were under staffed. Drinks were messed up and slow. It took nearly 45 minutes to get their famous bread. Food came out in stages. Salmon was so buttery my wife couldn’t eat it. The mushrooms were slimy greasy. Unfortunately it was a wasted $120.
Took 35 minutes to get appetizer. It came out wrong. Bread finally came after 40 minutes. Appetizer finally came back out after 50 minutes. Then my meal came out before the salads, the three other peoples meals didn’t come to the table when my steak was brought out. Then the salads came out around the 60 minutes mark. And five minutes later the three other meals were brought out. Once the three meals were brought out they seemed in a hurry to take the salads away even though they weren’t completely finished. Just seemed odd that we waited for the food for so long and once it showed up we were rushed to finish it. Usually have a smooth and orderly experience here. Not sure what happened but can’t say I was pleased with the experience. Just made to feel like we were inconveniencing the staff for their mistakes.
I received a text from open table saying my table was ready at 515. My reservation was for 545. We showed up at 535. We were asked to wait for the table to be ready. So we went to the bar. The draft beer I ordered was skunked out. Bartender switched me to bottles. Table was ready. Ordered shrimp cocktail as appetizer. Shrimp were either old or cooked poorly. Ordered entrées — steak and chicken dishes. Steak dish came out. No chicken dish. Server went to check. Never came back. Manager came by to ask how everything tasted. I hadn’t even started, and she hadn’t received hers. Manager went to kitchen. Came back 15 minutes later with her dish. Didn’t charge for it, which was nice. Unfortunately, mine was cold.
Wait staff very friendly - husbands rib-eye steak was overcooked and thin cut.
Very accommodating to our seating choice. Enjoyed a couple of the different craft cocktails - White Cosmo & Pomegranate Mojito. Wedge salad very good, excellent dressing. NY Strip prepared as requested, quite good. Broccoli with cheese sauce, cheese was runny, thicker would be better.
Our Server, Brinna was fantastic. We had a group of 6 people and everyone had what they needed all throughout our dinner.
The menu was full of choices for everyone and the food was delicious.
Experience great as always! We love this spot and love the food. Service is always wonderful as well
Great food. Great service. Double-bone pork chops are amazing. Wish they would bring back the brussel sprouts.
Seated promptly. Excellent waitress. Food was prepared correctly.
service was excellent. Food was surprisingly good. Recommend making reservation with the pandemic and shortage of workers.
Usually food is great but just ok this time. Poor waitress was working too many tables, she did a great job .
Very good place to eat steak. They also have a variety for those not liking steak and it is close by the water.
The waitress was awesome, he redeemed the whole experience. The bartender was awful. The hostess had stepped away from the podium to seat someone who arrived just before us. So the bartender decide to seat us. I tried to inform him that I had a reservation. He completely ignored me and ask how many was in my party. I tried to inform him again. And he asked me table or booth. Totally ignoring what I had to say. (All the info was in my reservation). He proceeded to seat us at a table which was on top of the next tables back even though the restaurant wasn’t pack. My daughter at this point asked if we can sit outside. He catches an attitude hands is back off to the hostess and tells her you seat them. Like really how rude. So we sat down and I can see the bar from where I’m sitting. The hostess apologized and walked away. She goes to the bar and says something to him. At this point he’s talking to a lady sitting at the bar which I was informed was his wife. She is now looking in my face. I asked her do she have a problem she rolled her eyes and looked away. Like first off we didn’t need him to do someone else job. He could have stayed behind the bar. We would have been fine waiting a min or 2. The manager on duty came over I explained what happened. And he went to talk the bartender. I know he didn’t say much of anything because we sat there for a while. I don’t do corporate calls. So here is my experience.
We enjoy eating at the Saltgrass on occasion. On this visit we enjoyed the shimp cocktail appetizer, a couple locally brewed beers on draft, and the summertime sirloin special (a 6oz steak with 1 side and a sald). The food was rather good, and we particularly enjoyed the shrimp cocktail which was nicely seasoned and contained 6 very large and fresh gulf shrimp. The only negative were the green beans served on the side which were shriveled in a peculiar way and tasted like they were drizzled with lemon juice. Our server seemed to have a lot of misunderstanding of the specials but eventually got it right when we showed her the website on our phone. We also had to contact OT since even though we checked in on arrival, the restaurant canceled our reservation. So - it reinforces the importance of saving your receipt on these dines! :).
Steak was so dry & rubbery not to mention overcooked! I asked for med & it was well well. "Soup" was so think I ate it with a fork since my waitress didn't bring a spoon. Def will not EVER come back
Sent my steak back and it still wasn’t right Husbands steak was mostly fat. $200 for 4 of us plus tip and Outback is better
Should have known from the 8 minutes we waited at the hostess stand before being greeted that this was going to be a negative experience. Waitress was friendly. The food took 57 minutes from the time the order was placed to the time it hit our table. The waitress apologized about 45 minutes into that wait, stating the manager would be by our table to speak with us, which never happened. My sweet potato fries were cold and the 38 dollar steak I ordered was subpar, at best. If you want unapologetically slow service for mediocre food, this is the place to go.
Server was not friendly. Did not make eye contact. Was moderately efficient. 1 of the steaks was over cooked but no one stopped by the table to ask how meals were. Tables around us had great friendly servers. Took some out of town friends as we raved about how good the restaurant is/was. Overall food was good. Service was lacking.
We could of got the same quality of food at Chili’s for half the price. We were forgot about as a table and promises weren’t kept. My drink was supposed to have bacon and shrimp it did not. They told us the kitchen were making more never got them. We waited over a hour for food and groups that sat down after us was already leaving before we even got our food.
We had a party of 6. The filet was excellent cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Our jalapeno margaritas were excellent.
Our server was extremely attentive.
Very safely spaced. There was an obvious lack of staff. The staff that were there did very well
Came on 10 minutes before our reservation time and with at least 15 empty tables still was told to wait until reservation time. Had a drink at the bar and then were seated. Still at least 15 empty tables. After 20 minutes no one had come over to the table to take our order so we walked out. On our way out we were asked by another couple why we were leaving so soon and we told them the story. They said they were there 1/2 an hour and couldn’t understand what the wait was to be seated. We told them that waiting to be seated was only the beginning. They also left. We will never go there again or recommend this restaurant. It’s a shame because we live here and always have guests staying with us and are always looking for a good restaurant to taken them to.
They are short staffed but the staff they have works hard to insure the food and service is top notch
I’ve been to better steakhouses. Just like most restaurants right now everyone is struggling. Service was decent. Seems like everyone is still training. Long wait time if you don’t have a reservation. We won’t be back.
It was our first visit to your restaurant. But we will definitely be back again.
The Laredo Chicken was outstanding. Also the potato soup. My husband had a steak that was cooked just right.
Waitress was new manager was no where to be found. It took 1 hour to get our salads and when food came out it looked like they just threw it on the plate. Don’t plan on ever coming back. Texas road is way better than this place.
The table was dirty when we got to it and the hostess watched as we wiped off crumbs with the menus before we sat down. After ordering we told the waitress we needed silverware. After a few minutes another server saw us looking around and asked if we needed something. We told her about the silverware and she immediately brought it to us. I, more than once, told our server I wanted a wedge salad with only bacon and ranch dressing, and she repeated that back to me yet when I got my salad it had tomatoes and balsamic dressing. Not a huge deal, but when added in with what was to come it helps paint the picture. We waited 30 minutes for our food to come out and when it did, my steak was barely warm and over-cooked. I sent it back and after 15 more minutes and my husband finishing half of his meal, I asked for a manager. When she arrived at our table she acted like she had no clue why we would be asking for her. I had no plate of food...it should have been obvious. I told her and she went to check on it. She said the GM was actually the one in the kitchen making food. When she brought my 2nd steak out it was also over-cooked and she acknowledged that and agreed with me. At this point, I was beyond frustrated because she wasn’t even acting like this was a big deal. We had been there an hour at this point and I was going to have to eat by myself while my husband would be finished by the time a 3rd steak arrived. I asked what the issue was and why were we unable to get a properly cooked steak and her only response was that “she wasn’t going to make excuses for failing us”. She never once offered to comp my meal or offer a free dessert. That’s when I said I wasn’t paying for my meal so she snatched my husband’s plate from in front of him and said “fine” and stormed off to the kitchen. We were in town on vacation and celebrating our anniversary. We don’t have Saltgrass at home and had really looked forward to going. We won’t be going to a Saltgrass ever again.
This was a terrible experience. Made a reservation well before closing time. Service was lacking, staff looked very stressed out. Needless to say reservation was never honored, ended up leaving empty handed. Service industry is suffering, hope they get things situated.
We placed our order, they list the ticket but knew about it, approached us and said the ticket got lost, my drink is on the way. Fast forward an hour and a half, I ask the waiter where our food is, she says she has no idea lol. She comes back and says the ticket was lost again, we tell her take out is fine since it’s 15 minutes to closing time, the bill comes and it’s still full price after the wait.
Horrible service from the front to the back of the house and the food was not worth the money. This location is obviously being mismanaged because we had a completely different experience at the one in Birmingham.
The steak was cooked perfectly, the shrimp were the good quality white flesh not translucent. The side dish options were appreciated, I’m so sick of asparagus and vegetable medley. My green berms and pinion rings tasted wonderful. This was the best meal outside of Disney that I have had since moving to Florida. They had all of my favorites and they were all prepared to perfection. Then we brought home Cheese cake and carrot cake. They were delectable and huge.
PS if you go to Disney use you Landry’s membership and dine at Yak and Yeti in Animal kingdom. The best restaurant in Disney. Below is a Pic from there.
Now we have some ply delicious to dine much closer to home. We are going back this weekend and bringing same friends.
Great place with a great country fried steak….Very comfortable..
We love the food here. It was a beautiful evening to sit outside and see the water while we ate.
