Landry's Seafood House - New Orleans French Quarter
Great meal for a business meeting dinner.
We didn’t even eat. We were sat at a high top table in the bar, with plenty of room at the tables in the dining area. Normally they at least ask if you want to sit in the bar area or a high top. The bar top had a lot of dirty dishes just sitting on it 10 feet from us with no sign of being tended to. After waiting 5+ minutes without being acknowledged, we decided to get dinner somewhere else.
The host was rude , the food was too salty the shrimp boil was bland . Our waiter was over bearing kept asking and saying its just ok.
We remembered Landry’s from times gone by when it was a classy establishment with high quality cuisine. We felt like we were in a sports bar and the quality of the food was definitely wanting. We won’t go back
Great Atmosphere Outside overlooking the Mississippi River. Fantastic service by Paris our Waitress.
A must do in New Orleans. Just the meal I was looking for.
My husband and I went for lunch (we've never had dinner there). Lunch is usually good. I had the Grilled Chicken Caesar and my husband had the Shrimp PoBoy. My salad was pretty good. The bread was not so good for the poboy. The ambiance was good. The staff was friendly.
Nice location to sit and eat with family. Food was great and the service was prompt and attentive.
Service was very slow but our server was friendly. Food was okay. Only plus was we got a free appetizer but our meals came out before the appetizer and it was lukewarm. Not somewhere I would visit again or recommend.
Our server Steven was amazing, he made the experience so enjoyable. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and made us feel very welcome. If I had friends going to the restaurant I would let them know to ask for Steven because he was wonderful to interact with!
Excellant food, great Service! Very good dining experience
Appetizer were very good, main dish was over cooked. Service was good in the beginning but then went down hill. If the main dish would have been as good as the appetizers then it would have been all 5 stars. Very disappointed considering the finial bill.
Seated under a vent and was dripped ( condensate) on all night . Food was fair quality at best . The waiter worked hard for us but could not compensate for the poor atmosphere , poor air conditioning unit , and fair quality of food . Did not even compare to the restaurant quality of our previous evening and Landry’s was at higher price . Overall , not worth the price when there are so many other options in New Orleans at the price point !
Always on point every time we visit. Tray was a great server and the food was very tasty.
It was just a big okay
The greeter at the entrance was not warm and friendly. She paid attention more to counting money than giving my party the welcome we deserved. The greeter on the second floor made up for it as well as the waitress and bus boy. The crawfish bread was very tasty but the Alfredo pasta was oversauced which made it unenjoyable. The skewered shrimp was a bit over cooked and had the tail on which is a bit untraditional for a pasta dish.
Excellent bread pudding!! Service was great and the food is amazing
The snapper was TOO DIE FOR.
It was not a great experience at all. First off, it took the longest just to get really soft drinks and an unsweetened tea that actually came out sweet. We ordered the appetizers at the same time as the drinks and two other tables came in and got their drinks and appetizers before we did. So I spoke with a manager and explained it and he said they would handle it and I asked for them to be got too. The manager had to bring us the bread. Our waitress was MIA for most of our visit, she came to the table maybe 3 times. So the manager came out and apologized. Then we waited for about 1 1/2 hours to get our food which was not exactly as I ordered it and the only thing that was hot abs fresh was the fresh. It was 5 of us and everyone’s order was not good at all. This was Father’s Day and not many people were there for this to be happening. At least 2 other tables had problems with their food too. The manager came out and asked us if we wanted desserts on him. I was too outdone by this time. They deducted the appetizers off the ticket but we were never asked to comp the meal or to at least be charged half of it. The entire ordeal lasted about 3 hours, that was ridiculous with the money that we spent. I used to love Landry’s but their restaurants are not what they used to be. Apparently the waitress kept leaving out food up for entirely too long in the window. Plus she smelled of extreme alcohol which probably explains why she was stuttering, couldn’t take our order right, couldn’t bring our order out in time or the fact that we barely saw her at all until it was time to pay the bill.
I was so heartbroken because this was something my children and I really wanted to do for him for Father’s Day and it was COMPLETELY RUINED.
Such a disappointment. Landry’s need to regroup and get it together.
Yes I would barely. Only due to its value though. The price compared with other restaurants for dinner were much lower.
Once a large party sat down, the next time I saw my server was when I was halfway done with entree. It was my birthday and the service was horrible. Server apologized but the damage was done.
The service was great, food was delicious! Location was conveniently located near our hotel.
I reserved for a party of three friends for a nice dinner. It took 25 minutes to get water which was after I went to the host that seated us. It took another 20 minutes to get drinks from the bar and get our order in and 30 minutes to get served. One of our party was so aggravated with the horrible service, he left. The manager had come by the table to apologize for the slow service but it didn’t help!!! I could understand if the restaurant had been busy, but it wasn’t. Several tables were open and there seemed to be enough servers. Although the food was good, it definitely prevented me from going back. Truly disappointing!
We had reservations for 6 on Tues. There was a large party which had reserved the outside area, so there was no river view seating available. There clearly was not enough extra staff on hand to deal with the normal customers. We were seated for 35 minutes before we received our drink order. 50 min for apps. Server had no personality. We paid and left without ordering dinner. We were able to get a table at Emiril's NOLA and the both the food and the service were phenomenal. I wouldn't recommend the One-and-Done drink there though. Yikes!
In a word Terrible. The long story is too long it was that bad. We waited 15 mins for a server 20 more to have our order take. Still no water. Then 5 minutes later the water comes. Other drinks came 10 mins after that. Then the waiter says the mahi is out that's 20 mins after I ordered and this is now nearly an hour. The manager, she didn't care. Terrible leader, I'm surprised her staff doesn't quit. Oh wait some did it was a regular sht show
Wonderful food, great wait staff. Steven was great!
Food was a good value for the area. Service was pleasant and friendly. We enjoyed the hosts who welcomed us and our server.
Vacationing from FL, seated early for our reservation. Manager seated us at a high top but moved us to accommodate our river view request. Server Ariel was awesome, friendly, attentive, and eager to make recommendations. Mixed drinks took a little longer to reach the table than normal, but we were never without a beverage. We ordered the crawfish bread appetizer which was amazing. Dinner was filet mignon with potatoes and the fried catfish with fries and we tried a side of the dirty rice. Great food, wonderful server.. we highly recommended you try it!
The food is underrated. My wife and I throughly enjoyed our meals and the service was excellent.
Wait staff and management are great. Bar staff could not get our drink orders correct and took forever. Management comped or drinks which was thoughtful. Food was ok.
The food was good, but the service was horrible. Waited for someone to take our order, but no one ever came. People that were seated after us were served before us. Had to go get a manager in order for someone to wait in us.
Waited a long time for food. A drink that was rejected was still charged for.
Landry's used to be one of our favorite places. Other Landry's restaurants are still good for seafood. Unfortunately, the great new location of Landry's in the French Quarter does not make up for the terrible - actually, nonexistent - service. The food was greasy. The place is dirty. Surfaces of handrails, floors, etc are very porous and sticky dirty. It doesn't smell good. It just feels creepy. It is NOT what we have known as Landry's. SAD.
Will was great!!!! Food was delicious!
The food was overall good. Frying was done perfectly (for instance, catfish, which is usually dry and over breaded, was flaky and tender). We arrived for the last seating and my only complaint was that our poor waiter, who was so good, however, had no help in busing the table, delivering food, etc. There is a great view of the Mississippi River, so if you are looking for fried seafood with a Louisiana touch, ask to be seated upstairs for river view or Jackson Square view and enjoy the French fries!
Although my wife and I were not automatically met at the front desk with a jovial hostess, Chris and Bo made up for the night. I enjoyed the second level of the building looking over the river. The food was extremely delicious, thanks to the chef. My wife had the ribeye (cooked perfectly) and I had the reddened fish etoufée.
Jazzfest dinner. Was good to start but they were not able to deal with a big crowd. As we were finishing up we had to wait a long time to get our bill and a long time to pay after receiving it. Good food and initially good service
Pleasant enough, but substitutes host/greeter needs to be more focussed and to understand that attractive young women are not necessarily the best paying customers.
Food was ok, but potatoes too spicy for me. Service good.
We had an unenjoyable experience at Landry's in the French Quarter of New Orleans. My wife is gluten free, and although Landry's has a gluten free menu and a fairly good selection, they clearly misunderstand the condition and are ill prepared for accommodating such people. Our server was on her first shift at Landry's and she clearly did what she could to facilitate us. When things went wrong she was apologetic. The problem of the food taking entirely too long and being separate from the rest of our items was not her fault, it was her managers fault. And the scallop entree that was gluten free was also void of flavor and seasoning, and was again the managers fault. When the manager brought the plate and asked my wife to sample and approve of it she stated that the kitchen didn't often prepare this. To me, if you are going to have a menu accommodating gluten free folks, your staff should be versed and capable with it and everything that comes with it. Also, gluten free does not mean flavor free. Salt, pepper, garlic, cumin, saffron, cayenne, chili powder, olive oil, butter, corn starch etc are all gluten free ingredients and are perfectly suitable to include in gluten free cooking. Please do that in the future, and include the descriptions of the dishes on your menu. We have had terrific experiences at Landry's brand/owned restaurants in the past and we are sure that this is a teachable moment. Last, the patio of the facility is in need of a significant cleaning, which does not inspire me to return to this location. You all can do better than you did today. I know it is Easter Sunday, but these problems were not because it was too busy or because it was someone's first day, it was because the kitchen and management staff are not trained well enough, and that you do not get a pass on.
Great atmosphere and food. Crescent CIty Snapper was great as was service
