Landry's Seafood House - Corpus Christi
Wouldn't recommend especially if your concerned about covid. Masks are not enforced even for the staff! Food very dry and chowder was never ready. Awful!!!! The place is too expensive for bad service and bad food.
Everything was good and delicious and the view love it
Very good, follows all COVID protocols; serve be was excellent. Food delicious.
Considering this strange mask environment our government bureaucrats have forced us into, the experience was OK. Food is good, but it's just weird having a service staff all looking like bank robbers.
Food was excellent. Not a large cup of clam chowder, but the taste was phenomenal. Enjoyed the blackened redfish étouffée. Husband had the shrimp poboy sandwich which was delicious as well. However, even though the restaurant is operating at about 50% capacity, the bar took 30 minutes to get our drinks served up. They came at the same time as our first course. There were servers that were not wearing their masks appropriately as well. Food great, service needs work.
Gumbo and fried shrimp and fish were good. Social distancing and cleaning where excellent. Missed the Almond Crusted Mahi which is still off the menu. Missed the standard garlic bread. Kitchen was slower than I would have expected on a slow time.
Nice place with plenty to choose from. We enjoyed our dinner and we will be back .
Waiter rushing us to order entrees when we ordered drinks. Steak overcooked, sent back, next one undercooked, sent back. Crab overcooked and excessively salty. Would never recommend someone eats at this restaurant.
The service and food was outstanding. Kudos to our waitress Shawne (sp?).
Giving Landry's on Shoreline Drive a 1 star review only because a) one star is the lowest rating). The restaurant is on the marina, and the view was beautiful at sunset. That was the only highlight of our visit. We dined around 8:00pm on a weekday evening, upstairs. The service was abysmal start to finish. Ian (the waiter) apologized for the service when we left, but it would have been much nicer if he had corrected the issue when he knew there was a problem. We repeatedly asked for more water, dirty dishes to be removed, etc., but the service never improved.
Cocktails ($10+ each) took 15 minutes to arrive (the restaurant wasn't busy all!). The bottle of wine we ordered to have with dinner was not in stock, and we were only told that as dinner was served. The substitute bottle of wine we ordered was also out of stock, which we were told as we finished dinner. The bottles ordered were not out of the ordinary. The absence of 2 mainstays in the wine cellar point to a management issue as much as a service issue.
The food was mundane at best. How can you NOT have fresh seafood when you're restaurant sits on the Gulf of Mexico? Both the lobster tail and redfish seemed old. It was hard to tell why that was the case. Perhaps old fish, not properly cared for prior to preparation, poor preparation, sitting under heat lamps too long (remember how bad the service was), who knows. It just wasn't good. The side order of union strings ($9.59) was cold when brought to the table, not edible. If the service had been even decent, these missteps would not have occurred.
Management was no where to be seen for the entire 2 hours we were there. Had any manager walked the 2nd floor, the groups of servers and bussers hanging out around the bar may have been more aware of dirty dishes, empty water glasses, etc. on the table.
All in all a miserable experience. Root cause appeared to be lack of proper training and/or management being AWOL. We wouldn't recommend Landry'
Another great meal and experience at one of our favorite spots in Corpus.
Our food was great, waitress was attentive and the establishment was clean
It was very pleasant.
Service was slow and took server 10 plus minutes to get to our table. We had to ask someone to get our server. Once server came he was slow and seemed in the weeds with only 1-2 tables. Manager should have come by and checked on how each table and guest were doing but he did not.
Celebrating my wife’s birthday with her friends, dinner was great and the food was amazing and fresh. Service too a long time and they charged my card wrong. Those were the only downsides to the evening
We chose Landry's to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary as newcomers to Corpus Christi. Everyone was very kind and attentive from the greeters to the wait staff. The food was excellent. Our waiter Michael was wonderful. We'll go back--the seafood was delicious!
Amazing first time eating at this place. Our server, Melissa was the sweetest.
Extremely Understaffed. Charging same prices for bad service, with little staff and poor quality food. Not clean either.
The manager made sure that all of the African American customers we're well taken care of and felt comfortable
Expensive and overcooked mahi Mahi. My son ordered grilled shrimp and it was also very dry. Server was good but the food was not worth the money we paid.
Wife took me for my birthday. It was delicious
Our waitresses was very sweet and the food was amazing.
I truly loved our server he was amazing his name was Vincent and I would definitely be returning because of him. The food was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was just awesome. The manager was very attentive I will definitely recommend to family and friends.
Very long wait for food, despite a light midweek lunch crowd.
The food was ok but I didn't feel like it was actually created in the kitchen. Everything had the appearance and consistency of food that had been prepared offsite and frozen and/or packaged and vacu-seal bags and reconstituted and/or rewarmed in the kitchen onsite. The service was attentive, but there were huge gaps of time for drink orders, which should typically be served relatively quick. The tropical drinks that we had were not authentic drinks, (mai-tais and hurricanes}, but were rather made with mixes and seemed to be lacking some liquors typically found in those drinks.
We used to love Landrys but it seems to have gone downhill. The appetizer was really good but the food wasn't that great. Small portions and food that's just ok tasting. I got the stuffed flounder, and for someone who eats fish often it was too fishy and too bland. I was really disappointed. Stick with the appetizers if you go
The Hostess was Great. The Server was great. The food was fabulous. This location in Corpus Christi was Very On Top of Their Game !!!! Thank you Me Manager for checking with our table !!!!!
Nice view if the sun isn’t in your eyes. Food was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will go again.
I expected more visiting a Landry's that is ocean side. The food was ok, not over the top. Excellent Caesar salad! For dinner we had the broiled platter, shells in the crab cake which was like warm, shrimp was good, fish was not fresh. My son's overpriced smoothie was simply a virgin strawberry daquari, I expect a smoothie to be healthy not just strawberry syrup and ice. His Mac n cheese was crunchy, he didn't mind. I did. Our server was great until he forgot to bring us the check, which is funny since they were running at half capacity. We waited quite awhile to leave. The hostess was semi rude and didn't thank us or even give us a goodbye when we left the restaurant. I understand that COVID puts restaurants under a strain but I wouldn't return to this location considering the number of other seafood restaurants in the area.
The service and food were great as usual, but the decor was not of the same standard of other Landry's I've visited, such as the one in Myrtle Beach of the McCormick & Schmidt in the DC area.
I have been away for 10 years and have recently moved back. Shared my two best friends birthdays here and it was wonderful! Our waiter Mitchell was superb and the manager was so attentive.
Food was good, but menu is limited. Missed the Almond crusted Mahi and oyster Bar trash. No garlic bread as yet.
Waitress was awesome! Food was delicious!
Very happy with the service and the food. Very friendly staff.
Good food but wish the regular menu would have been in use.
Out waiter could not remember anything we had ordered or asked for even when he wrote it down. Had to ask 3 times for crab cracker. 3 of us ordered the crab. We were brought 1 crab cracker. Our side dish came out 45 minutes after we had finished eating. The sides dishes were completely cold. I never received the salad I ordered. Even after reminding him twice. The crab was slightly dried out like it was not as fresh as we are used to when eating at Landry's. Very disappointing experience.
I made our reservation for 8:15. It was well after 9 before we were seated. As a Landry’s reward member I didn’t expect this especially since I was celebrating my 60th birthday. Our food was cold. The took it back and reheated it. I cannot stand seafood that has been heated up. I’ve been to Landry’s many times in Houston. This one was no where close to the same quality.
Food was just ok the oil in the fried shrimp tasted old. The service was wonderful! The Kemah texas location is better.
