Landmarc at the Time Warner Center Ratings and Reviews
They expect you to order full bottles; no glasses of wine at the tables are allowed (is that legal?) The new receptionist changed our table twice and brought someone not in our party to our table (although she smiled and was nice about it). The restaurant clearly is undergoing some changes in management. Food was tasty and service seemed to disappear once we were stuck in the most remote table corner of the restaurant.
My girlfriend & I celebrated our anniversary here on Halloween 2015. The service was friendly and prompt - even comping us two deserts because of our patience while they rebooted their computer system (we still received all food & drink in a very timely manner). The mozzarella and ricotta fritter appetizer is to die for - yes, it's just fried cheese, but it's amazing fried cheese. I ordered the bone-in ribeye and my girlfriend the cavetelli special - both outstanding options. My only complaint is not really a fair one to make in NYC, however, I wish that the two-place tables had just a few more inches of room between them. Overall, great experience & will likely return.
why did the maitre'd have to seat me at the most undesireable table first - crowded between tables filled with diners - before my having to complain and then very obligingly moving me to a more appealing table - near a window with more room?
this seems to be the way some restaurants are going - saving the better tables for the diners who complain? or who look better? or what?
after that the waiter performed the menu - did he think it was an audition? we weren't offered bread but had to ask and, they don't serve glasses of wine, only 1/2 bottles and bottles.
not my kind of restaurant.
Food was great, and cooked the way we wanted. My only issue was that we felt a bit rushed between cources, and as soon as apps were cleared mains came out. Didn't have time to digest a little and enjoy wine. I understand if there was a waiting list, but it was after 9pm on a Tuesday.
Food was good, our server was extremely nice and helpful. Only complaint is when we arrived, they had a table for 6 with a great view all ready, but before we sat down, the hostess asked us to give her a second as she left. When she came back, they moved us to a table for 5 that was in the corner with no view, and squished the 6 of us in. That was pretty annoying and the reason why we went with 3 stars overall. The server made up for it though with how nice she was.
Overall it was a good experience, but with a few tweaks it could be great. There were 2 bartenders, one clearly knew how to make a proper drink, the other didn't. We had to send back our second round for them to be remade. When we told our server he replied: "oh, did he mess those up", as if he knew this was an ongoing problem. The back servers are too aggressive when it comes time to clear; Please wait until everyone is finished before approaching to clear. I understand you need to turn the table but we were surrounded by open tables, so why push.
This place is like a Grand Central Terminal - super busy, crowded, noisy. Appetizers were good but main courses just ok - steak arrived cold and chewy, polenta thick and tasteless... I decided to go there because I had a great meal at the downtown location. Don't be fooled, the two restaurants are completely different.
A great place to meet friends from different parts of the city because almost all subways come through Columbus Circle. The reasonably priced menu is solid, with some particularly nice dishes (eggs en meurette, croque monsieur, eggs Norwegian). The lemon tart is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful; very kid-friendly place. A terrific choice for brunch and lunch for families and groups of friends.
We had the French breakfast Le Meurette and it was described perfectly by our amazing server, and it was indeed "something different" for breakfast. Poached eggs, red wine soaked bread.with onions and mushrooms, wow, loved it. The coffee at Landmarc is also exceptional. Our female server (unfortunately I can't remember her name) was just terrific: patient, knowledgeable, friendly, very professional, and not all up in our grill when we were busy talking and not looking at our menus haha! We were there for brunch at 10am Sunday the 18th and were sat at a two top at the end of the row which was so perfect for us! Loved it!
The scene and decor is nice. The menu is appealing but our service and food was not good.
Our flatbread came out completely overcooked and charred. The waiter tried to tell us that is how they come, terrible!
The pasta dish had no sauce , we had to ask for an extra side.
The music was way too loud and station was like club music.. not fitting for the scene or vibe.
+Has the potential to be so much better than it is.
We were looking forward to our dinner at the Landmarc. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to our expectations. Our appetizers were just ok. Mussels were fine but not overly flavorful. I had the fish special which was not delicious at all. My husband had the pasta with clams. There was no taste of clams at all. The pasta tasted like a simple pasta with butter. It was so disappointing. Our main course came out before we were even done with our apps.
I've had better experiences at this restaurant previously but this time it was too crowded, too loud, and the waitstaff was inattentive. Every time I needed to find our server she was no where to be found for 10 minutes. When she did come around, we didn't need anything, and when we needed her, she was out of sight. It was a bit irritating. Other than that, I ordered the daily special, which was cooked well, but the flavor palette didn't really hit the spot for me; I didn't love the matching sauce that went with the fish. The portions were huge though, considering the type of restaurant it is, so the dessert sampler was a fun discovery as was the bone marrow appetizer.
The service was excellent. Our server helped us choose a great wine that we both enjoyed and she was very knowledgeable! They kept our table clear throughout the meal, so the table didn't get cluttered with dishes. We really enjoyed our meals and I was very impressed with the ginger carrot soup AND the scallops. It was such a nice experience.
Had a wonderful time here. We have now gotten engaged, celebrated birthdays and other festive occasions. Never lets us down with the service food or overall experience. If you have a large party 5+ I highly the pod to dine in, it's a somewhat private and intimate space they offer.
I took my 7 year old daughter and her father here to celebrate his birthday. Absolutely perfect place to dine. Fancy but not stuffy. Casual but not lackluster. Food was incredible. Service was impeccable. Every server knew our requests without having to repeat ourselves several times. Will dine here again.
Landmarc was our restaurant of choice for brunch on our final day of a 50th Birthday celebration weekend in New York. The restaurant had a great view and the food was good but the noise level was a little loud. Overall it was good and I would recommend this restaurant.
I've been coming to this place since it opened. Other than the sad fact they removed my Endive salad from their menu, this place is totally reliable in terms of quality. Find it to be the most amazing kid friendly place. My son loves it. Staff is nice and extremely patient. Great brunch, lunch or dinner. Simply love it!
The Landmarc has an amazing view overlooking Columbus Circle and the Park. I would recommend trying to get a seat near the window as its a great people-watching experience. For brunch, both me and my fiancé absolutely loved our food. My dish was voted slightly better though, so I would fully recommend getting the Eggs en Meurette.
