   Delicious, imaginative food, beautifully prepared and presented. Charming and helpful service, pleasant ambience - and good choice of music! Particularly delighted with the homemade bread and Marmite butter (which really works) and the little amuse-bouche of salt cod fishcake and Romeso sauce. My husband had the lamb 3 ways and we both agreed this was the best dish - but everything was wonderful.

   First time back in many years and very pleasantly surprised. Service was very good, and not too noisy, but the food was excellent. Nice to have a full choice of tables as we arrived early. Particularly enjoyed the scallop and pork belly, and the lamb 3 ways, and an outstanding Brownie/Fondant, but everything was very good. Wine list was very interesting and well priced and we had a good bottle of Viognier.

   Yet another lovely meal in The Landgate. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient and the food is delicious. I would highly recommend the scallops for a first course, they are superb. To be honest all the food is wonderful and it is a nice relaxed dining experience. Highly recommended

   Our second visit which was as nice as the first one. Lovely food; friendly service; relaxed atmosphere. This is just a really nice restaurant with a well deserved good reputation

   The food could not be faulted! Every course and the extras like bread were just delicious. The staff although polite and courteous at all times were not savvy enough and did not match the level expected when being served food of such calibre. I suggest that they need to be trained better to answer questions and be more aware of table etiquette. I would definitely return.

   Excellent food and great service! My second visit and scallop as great as I remember! I had pear as dessert this time and a pleasant surprise! Will return for sure!

   What a lovely experience, the food is so delicious and well presented. The menu is small as everything cooked fresh and keep to a high standard. The staff were informative and welcoming.

   We loved it! The food was incredible, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was spot on. Highly, highly recommend the scallops—absolutely amazing. So good, I’ll definitely be back!

   1st Class service from start to finish. We were served canapés unexpectedly and these tasted delicious. The food we ordered was exceptional with Master chef like Presentation. If there was 1 thing we had to say it would be that we would have liked a little longer in between each course.( we could have asked as the waiter and waitress were very attentive and committed to giving you a relaxing experience). Then to top it all off the bill was very reasonable for everything we had and the quality given. Would highly recommend going here to anyone and will definitely be returning on our next visit to Rye.

    Always a pleasure to eat at the Landgate Bistro. The food is always fabulous and the service great. I can't recommend it highly enough.
