We were so impressed. We moved out to the burbs from the South End a few months ago and this is one of the few restuarants that are comparable in quality. The other good things are there are free parking and it is bigger and can accommadate groups.

We really enjoyed our evening at L'Andana....We were surprised how generous the portions were since it was Restaurant week....other restaurants in the past were not as generous...The choices were wonderful...we were a party of 6 and everyone loved their food....the preparation of the food was terrific and delicious...service was outstanding...and it is one of the loveliest restaurants I have ever seen....the chairs are very comfortable and the decor is very serene ...we had a wonderful experience....

Food is phenomenal, however review the limited menu prior to making the reservation. If there is something you like on the menu, we highly recommend. Great for a quiet, romantic special occasion. With shared appetizer, bottle of average $ wine, 2 entrees and one shared side dish...expect to pay $200 with tip. Well worth the money for a special occasion. We will definitely return. With a more expanded menu this restaurant would get a 5 star rating.

Outstanding service... The wait staff was engaging and attentive without being overbearing. The timing of the food delivery was impeccable. From the drinks to the bread to the appetizer to the main course, we were never left waiting nor felt rushed.
Outstanding food... the mussels appetizer was deliciously rich and the sauce so delectable that we fought over the bread to sop up the last drop. The salmon entree was cooked perfectly, with a delicious and buttery mouth feel. The grilled peppers and the grilled asparagus were also perfectly cooked.
I eagerly look forward to returning and trying additional menu items.

Overpriced meals and cocktails. I believe you are paying for very attentive service and ambiance. Home made sea shells were undercooked and dish was bland.

Will not return.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at L'Andana. For appetizers, we ordered the Fruit salad and Tuna Tartare. The Tuna was excellent & nicely presented. The Melon salad was an odd mixture of melons, feta and vinaigrette. I scraped off the feta just to eat it. For dinner, we had the Striped Bass special and the menu Salmon. Both fish were cooked perfectly. The Bass was served with panzanella; excellent choice. The Salmon was served over an odd mix of fava beans and corn. The corn just didn't go with the dish. There is great potential for L'Andana, but it is a confused restaurant. There is little Tuscan on the menu (panzanella, tourist tuscan steak). Corn and Feta are not Tuscan and not even italian. Maybe I know Tuscan food too we

I have been to L'Andana twice now. The restaurant is such a nice surprise when you walk through the door. From the outside, it's nothing special, and in kind of an industrial area. But when you walk through the front door, the place transports you into another world. The food is delicious, great portion size, too. The pace of our waiter, Maurizio, was perfect. We never felt rushed, and we never had to wait for the next course. I will definitely return again and again.

We went for the first time on Saturday, 8/6. The food was wonderful -- simply prepared but prepared to perfection in a way that made the flavor of the food stand out. Two of us had the filet mignon with the sea salt encrusted baked potato and grilled romaine. Two of us had the lobster, pasta and butter dish. One of us had the Mafaldine and veal meatballs. Everything was terrific -- more than one dish was declared some of the best we had ever had. The service was friendly and efficient. The decor in the front room is more attractive and romantic than the back room where we were but overall we liked the ambiance.

Four girlfriends out for dinner together on a Monday evening. We started with the specialty drinks. Try the blueberry lemonade. Three of us opted for the 3 course dinner. Two of us had the risotto which was outstanding. The corn soup was well received too. We tried each of the main courses -fish, chicken and steak. We all agreed at the end of the evening that we were stuffed and had overeaten but the food was so delicious that we couldn't stop. Service is top rate. It is a quiet, comfortable room which allows for wonderful conversation. Not my first time and certainly not my last. Have never had a morsel of food that was not wonderful here!

L'Andana needs to revamp it's gigantic room. It would be much better if they put a half wall and a new bar in the middle of it to make the space seem less cavernous and empty. If diners were seated a little more closely, iy would feel less empty, and the buzz would be good for business. The food could use a little updating too. While the Caesar is good, many of the other appetizers could use a taste update with a little less fancy and a bit more flavor. Nothing was bad, but beyond the desserts nothing was fab, either.

Extremely pleasant experience at L'Andana. The building, interior, and decor are beautiful. Food was outstanding. Had the veal chop for my main - excellent sauce, not overpowering. Panna Cotta for desert was heavenly. L'Andana is a definite alternative for excellent dining in the 'burbs.

Arrived at restaurant and was given the closest table to the kitchen. I asked for a different table and was given the closest to the entrance. There were approximately 15 tables available at the time. Typically when I use Open Table for my reservation, I get a better table, not the worst.

The food was wondeful, but small on servings. I made advance reservations and requested a nice table. Upon checking in we mentioned the request for a nice table/location and were not given an acceptable one. They said that others were booked. They put us at a shared banquet style table and one person had a chair and others were bench like only inches to another couple; finally after we ordered cocktails they said the other reservations were canceled and we could switch tables. It was an unnecessary scene to make for us! They didn't even offer us a complimentary drink for this commotion. The wine served spilled wine all over me and my place setting and said he was training. The warm chocolate cake with gelato was fantastic.

The food is always excellent - better than most steak houses. I just wish the service was better and more consistent. The wait staff seems more intent on "up selling' you more food than serving you. They have little knowledge or passion for the food they are serving. It is too bad because it can make for an annoying evening. It is hard to find a better steak in Boston. And, the fries are truly the best in Boston.

Our recent dining experience with L'Andana was totally the opposite of our first visit. The reason we came back because we were very pleased with our first visit about a year and a half ago. Back then we ordered their lobster pasta and that was great. So this time we ordered again their new lobster pasta on their updated menu and the quality is not something I would expect from an upscale restaurant and for the price of the dish. The food tasted flat and the presentation is lacking. It's simply didn't have the "wow" factor that you've come to expect. We were so disappointed with the food that we didn't bother looking at the dessert menu so we can get out of there. Ambiance is still good, service is just ok. That would be the last for us.

Although the service was good and the space was attractive, the portion size was really inadequate. My appetizer portion of the shell pasta with lobster had precisely six pasta shells1 For $18!! Otherwise the food was flavorful and the ambiance pleasant.

I have been to L'Andana many times...and I am never disappointed. The food is excellent, and they offer small and medium portions. The service is usually impeccable, from the bartender to the wait staff to the host/esses to the valet attendant. If you are looking for great ambience, delicious food and great service without having to go into Boston, this is your place. It has a similar feel to Capital Grille but a little less expensive, less stuffy, and more current/modern. I love going to L'Andana for a ladies night out or with my significant other. It isn't an ideal place for younger kids.
