L'Andana Ratings and Reviews
I’ve eaten here many times and can honestly say that I’ve never had a bad meal. The food is consistently delicious, the service is top notch and the atmosphere is lovely. Parking is free. It’s pricey but if you’re looking for a special occasion, think L’Andana.
This is a high end restaurant so you expect high end service and delicious food. I ordered a Ribeye steak Medium Rare and it came out Medium Well. They sent another Steak out and it was Medium Well again. Very disappointing! The problem is the steak is too thin it was 1/2 inch so that cooks to fast. If you are going to Charge $43 for a steak you make sure it’s thick enough and comes out the way the customers wants it. This has never happened to me at the Capital Grill.
Had a wonderful Anniversary dinner with my husband! Hostess was very accommodating in terms of our table request! Both of us enjoyed a flavorful Filet Mignon with delicious whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. Also enjoyed a well made Martini, as did my husband. The wine was a perfect pairing with our dinner as well. Love returning to L'Andanas! Never disappoints!!!
Ive been in the food and beverage business for almost 20 years and l'andana gave me the best piece of meat I've ever had in my life. The double lamb chop. Everything was perfectly executed. Just flawless cooking and pristine ingredients. Mammano is a genius.
The room was quite nice in terms of an ambience and the service was excellent. Unfortunately the food was not up to the same standard. One of our party requested their steak medium to medium rare, another request of their steak medium in both cases the meat arrived medium well . While the service staff endeavored to correct the error, by the time the meat arrived the entire pretty was out of sync. In addition, the sauce for the meat overwhelmed the taste of the beef and was quite salty and thus became the focus. This was a shame as the beef was prime and should have been the centerpiece of the meal. While none of these errors was egregiously awful, given the restaurant’s reputation, and thus our expectations, we came away disappointed.
I asked for the skirt steak medium and it was burnt on both sides and raw (completely raw) in the middle. As for the vegetables with my steak...no mushrooms, it was some kind of potato that seemed pickled in something. Although the waiter was friendly and courteous, we didn't see him until my husband's meal was done and at that point, we just wanted to leave.
It is obvious people like it there, the parking lot was packed, however, not for us.
First time at this restaurant, and was very impressed with the ambience and service. The appetizers were delicious and fresh. The meals were delivered timely and hot with my wife having the lamb chops and myself the aged rib eyed steak. My wife said the chops were delicious, and I enjoyed my steak but felt it was not top notch and would refrain from this category in the future. The dessert was presented with a candle and Happy Anniversary written on both plates. I felt this is an excellent place for a romantic dinner and noticed several family and one business group also in attendance that night without taking anything away from the overall experience. Will definitely give this place another go!
As always, L'Andana's was terrific! The food is so good, and the wait staff is very attentive. The restaurant was quite busy the night we were there, including some sort of function in another room, so the service was a little slower than usual. Nonetheless, it was another wonderful experience. It is not a cheap meal, but still worth it for the food, service and ambiance!
This was our first time eating here and we were quite happy with our choice of meeting friends here. The food was excellent with a good number of dinner and appetizer options. I had the Tuscan Steak, which was excellent and my wife had the rick cornish game hen, which was excellent as well. Our friends also had meal that were very good. We Shared appetizers which were also well prepared and delicious. The service was attentive and the server was quite knowledgeable. Overall a very good dining experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out that lives in the area.
I hadn't been to L'Andana in a few years and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We stopped for a drink in the bar area before going to a our table. The bartender was very friendly and she made a wonderful martini. Just the way I like it.
The food was delicious. There were four of us and we all ordered a different entree. Everyone was very pleased. There was one minor complaint that the pasta in the pasta Bolognese was cooked too al dente, but it didn't affect the flavor of the sauce or the dining experience.
Desserts were fabulous, especially the rich panna cotta. We will be back for sure!
We're a younger couple and were definitely treated that way. The service from our main waiter was poor. We weren't told the specials and waited 30 min before she came back to take our order ( we weren't ready the first time she came by)...the bus boys were great however and made the dining experience much more enjoyable. Food was good, but not any better than a dining experience you could get down the road for $50 less. It was obvious who was there for business and these men were definitely treated much better than our table.
Was disappointed was my 46th anaversary the service was fine but our food was horrible I had the swordfish was such a thin cut never seen it served like that was completely dried out vegetables were not cooked my wife had the chicken Milanese it was in a broth soggy not crisp at all not appitizing I know you get good reviews but this was unacceptable didn't complain it was a special occasion tried to make the best of it Sorry that's my review
I have to say that from beginning to end EVERYTHING was outstanding. The greeter outside, the bartender, the waiter (Kevin), and the bus boy, all went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. There were four of us dining on a Sunday evening and got different appetizers and entrees. We sampled a taste of everything, and all agreed it was one of the best meals we ever had. Most important was the taste, which was superb (the presentation, temperature, and portions were also great). Desserts did not disappoint either!
Without question, I would highly recommend L'Andana to everyone. It was a top notch experience all around.
I always enjoyed L'andana until I visited last August for my mother's birthday when we had the rudest server I could imagine. I believe her name was Amanda(Latina woman) she laughed and was friendly with her white tables but was very standoffish to me and my mother ( non-white). We went during restaurant week but ordered drinks and spent over $30 just in side dishes. Our experience was so bad we almost didn't want to come back for her birthday again this year needless to say we were relieved not to have her as our server. The server we had this year was wonderful he suggested we try the Sangria and it was delicious he was very knowledgeable about the menu! He also wished my mom a happy birthday several times and made sure her dessert was specially decorated.
However in terms of the meal itself one of the side dishes we ordered was the $16 Risotto and it was wonderful but the serving size was disappointing.
I also wish the restaurant was laid out differently at those prices I do not need to be that close to strangers.
Lastly, the last several times we dined including this time we had to wait over twenty-five minutes after our reservation time to be seated. I think the restaurant should focus on quality and not quantity and perhaps book less reservations or staff more adequately I am not sure what the issue is but some patrons were a minute or two from leaving. All in All we still love L'andana and hope to come again soon but if the flaws continue we may not be coming back for awhile.
Went 8/18/2017 with a party of 4 the last night of restaurant week. Seated promptly at reserved table, greeted quickly by waitress, served bread and water. From there on everything went downhill. We ordered an appetizer off standard menu and were told we needed to give our full order for the 3 course prix fixe menu options at the same time. I asked if we could wait until after appetizer and was told no, not during restaurant week. We need to take your whole order right away. Ordered our 3 courses, with one request for a salad dressing that didn't contain alcohol due to a health condition. Hmm..that might be a problem. We can probably give you balsamic and oil on the side, let me check. How would you like your Ribeye steak cooked? One Pittsburgh style, another medium. As we received our food, runner delivered an unknown dressing on the side and had to run back to find out what it was. Lemon vinaigrette..OK. To runner "Could we have some fresh ground pepper?" Returns with a bowl of crushed red pepper flakes. Steak arrived, one delivered medium well, another well done. Waitress finally comes back after very long absence. Oh I am sorry, I hit the wrong button when I sent it to the kitchen. I will take care of it. Meanwhile, our other two companions had their meal while we waited for new steaks to be cooked. At this point we just wanted to leave and asked the guy clearing our table for our included dessert "to go". Another, that might be a problem. Let me check. All this time, our waitress never came back to check on us to make sure we were all set. We mostly dealt with the water boy and food runner. Totally disappointed considering this is a high end, highly priced restaurant where you can easily spend over $100 per person for main course and a couple of drinks. I would expect much more attention to detail from the service staff to ensure guest receive the dining experience they are paying for and deserve, regardless of restaurant week lower prix fixe menu pricing.
