Brewery

THE MARRIAGE OF SCIENCE AND ALOHA IS WHERE OUR BREWERY LIVES.
The akamai (the philosophy, feeling, way of doing things) is the other important part of this. We can feel the outcome of the beer as we are brewing it. Lanahu Ales is named for the Hawaiian word for coal. The name was chosen to blend our heritage to the Hawaiian Aloha spirit and share it with craft brew drinkers of Northeastern PA.

OUR FOCUS IS ON JUICY IPAS.
This is our favorite style and the main reason we got into the brewing business. We compliment this style by using different hops and brewing processes to bring you a constant variation of Juicy IPAs on tap. If you are not into IPAs - we will have rotating beers for everyone.

Beers Currently On Tap

  • Bruddah Pia IPA - New England / Hazy 7% ABV 42 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

New mash composition and methodology. Kettle hopped exclusively with Galaxy Hops DDHd with Galaxy Hops using a new and more efficient dry hopping method. Bursting with bright passionfruit aroma and flavor, good citrus lemon peel backbone and a whisper of popping grape candy finish

    • Talkin' Da Kine IPA - Imperial / Double New England / Hazy 8.1% ABV 63 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

This bright, honey-gold brew will greet your nose with sweet mandarin, spun sugar and a hint of spruce. Your palate will meet the mosaic hops with those same tropical fruit notes and, mixing with the honey malt we used, tease those taste buds with pineapple cake and pomelo zest

      • Hana Hou Later IPA - Imperial / Double New England / Hazy 8.3% ABV 80 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

Double dry hopped with Mosaic and Simcoe hops. Pithy orange, gooey candied grapefruit zest, bitey herbal and citrus yuzu fo da taste. Oh so good!

        • Hawaii Time IPA - New England / Hazy 7% ABV 55 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

Brewed with a similar malt bill as our others. We did try mixing it up a bit with the 2-Row, mixing it with Montana and Great Western malts. Kettle hopped with Huell Melon and Citra Hops, then DDHed with them. Tasting notes: Green honeydew rind, bright gooseberries and some dank herbal notes

          • Kapu Pia IPA - Imperial / Double New England / Hazy 7.5% ABV 70 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

Kettle hopped with Mosaic and Simcoe hops. Then we finished it off by DDHing with more Mosaic and Simcoe. Damn! Super crushable notes of orange and peach iced tea on a hot day. Add to that some fresh berries!

            • No Need Worry, Pale Ale - American 5.5% ABV 36 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

A slightly hazy pale ale with Citra hops added late in the boil. A smidge of Passion Fruit was added to the fermenter after primary fermentation. Aromas like orange juicer, citrus peel and pine. On the palate, some bittah orange, grapefruit with a piney/passion fruit finish

              • Hoku Oli Oli, Stout - English Imperial 8.7% ABV 52 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

Boasts of a big roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate, chicory and a hint of sweetened coffee, with a slightly dry finish

                • On Top The Front Porch, Lager - American 4.3% ABV 15 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

Our third iteration of our lager. We used a bit more red malt to this batch and rested the whole thing on some grapefruit puree. The epitome of a "lawnmower" beer, super easy to drink all-day-long, especially during/after yard work

                  • Po Kono- (Experimental 1) Pilsner - Other 5.3% ABV 36 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

We tried to can this buggah, but, were unsuccessful. So we are just going to release on our beer wall as an experimental pilsner. Slight nuttiness and sweetness on the palate. Crazy smooth to drink

                    • Piolo Different-Blood Orange, Sour - Fruited 5% ABV 28 IBU Lanahu Ales, Mountain Top, PA

The third iteration of our sour. This time we rested the batch on a generous portion of Blood Orange Puree
